I miss everyone! Since we don't need a due date thread any more, let's all gather here!

How are all of you? How are the babies?

We are doing fine. Sawyer is 2 months old now, and is up to 13 lbs and 7 oz and 23 inches at his last appointment. He is a big guy! He is easy, happy and smiley. I decided to spread out his vaccines (following the recommendations in the Dr. Sears Vaccine Book) so he will be getting shots every month rather than every other, and 2 shots per visit rather than 4. But now I worry about him getting sick while waiting for the vaccinations! I am also freaked out about the flu going around. I am supposed to be going to a bunch of school stuff for my other kids, like xmas plays and an xmas concert, but I really don't want to bring the baby, so we'll see if I can work it out.

Hobbers, thanks for setting up this thread for us! I am so excited to have a place for us to go to chat about our babies! Lillian's doing better, but sometimes she still gets so cranky there is nothing else to do but after she's fed really well, burped and changed, to put her in her bassiset crying :( she wails in your arms, and once she's in the bassiset with the lights dimmed and covered up, she'll cry for less than five minutes and then fall to sleep. It just breaks my heart that she has to cry at all to fall asleep; snuggling with her usually doesn't help.

Oh and my husband thinks her issues stem from her being a girl, and I said it's not that it's her personality. She's stubborn like him, lol. He says the boys were "easier" ..DS1 for sure, DS2 no way--he's still hard now, and oh god, his little mischievous grin when he KNOWS he's doing something naughty just grrr...lol.

Auroara, do you think Lillian could have colic? Maybe that's why she is hard to console? I bet she will grow out of the fussy stage and be easier as she gets older.

Is the flu going around there? It is here, and I am so scared. Kids in my older kids' school are sick, and even though we have all had flu shots, I worry so much about the baby! I wish he could have the flu shot already!

I just wanted to say "Hi" and hope your all well? Sorry to hear Lillian isn't settling well. Not sure if as I have 2 babies, but the girls have DEF been alot harder as babies than the boys. (just in my experience). Sure that's not the case for everyone, maybe having 2 it seems twice as crazy sometimes! Don't get on much here now, but saw your posts and wanted to say Hello! xx

We are crazy last minute peeps here so I've been going insane trying to get all of DS1's wish list. Originally we said we weren't going to get everything he wanted because of money reasons and just in general but he didnt ask for a whole lot so we're going to try to secure the last minute thing he still really wants. DS1 is such a good boy I want to give him the moon and stars if I could!

DS2 does not much like to play with toys but plays with non toys alot so we got him two toys but im not sure how it's going to go over for him.

Lillian got a few comfy girly sleepers since she'll only sleep thru the nite if she wears a sleepr (she likes her feet being covered up) she's doing a lot better lately really loving eye contact big huge smiles...she has a dimple in her left cheek, oh it is so precious! she is so gorgeous and just amazes me all the time...she makes this awful sad face that is so funny when shes mad or upset she puts out her bottom full lip and just pouts...and my DH goes "oh no she's trying to do a sad face to get her way." DS2 is in love with her and kisses her all the time and just wants to lay by her side. I think he's going to be a great big brother...despite the fact that he still drives me crazy more often than not he has a real tender heart and is a big ole softy...

how about you? how is your first son loving his brother? any new cool changes with sawyer? are your two DDs taking him in? you finished the shopping or are you hitting the stores today like us in a crazy last minute rush?

This is such a swaying forum looks like after the babys are here everyone is gone :( Would be nice to talk with others who had a baby around the same time like me. Im all alone and no1 to talk to.

But I see really no chat is going on here...

Hi Flava, I'm here! It is sad that everyone else has disappeared, because I would love toknow how all the babies and ladies from our due date group are doing! I am glad you popped in.

How old is your little guy now? And you say he isn't sleeping? have you tried wearing him in a sling or a Moby Wrap?

As far as losing fat, I can't help you there. I am a whale!

Flava
January 12th, 2013, 09:35 AM
hobber yeyyy u here! ( typing with 1 hand) I have the sleepy wrap he do sleep in that for a short time. But it's not a big help for me because I can't do much when it's on me. And with my back pain not really good anyway. My other babys all took naps so no idea why he only sleeps so little but he sleep good at night so that's very good.
Im just waiting for the time when I can put him down for a little longer to play look at toys ect. so i can get things done.

Finally I got the first smiley pics from him he is so cute !:awe: And he is making those little noises now we all love it !:awe:

Yeah the fat makes me so mad Im not loosing anything or even put some on until I stop BF! No matter that I only have a little milk and have to do formula I walk every day now I try to work out a little when I have a couple minutes free!

Good that he sleeps well at night! Mine does too. He only wakes up once, usually.

Have any of your kids had any tests that worried you? I don't know if you saw my thread about the test my baby had. He had a barium swallow test where they do an xray on him. THey were checking to see if he had an issue with his swallowing, or reflux, because he was choking while he ate. It turns out all that is wrong is that my milk lets down too fast and he has a sensitive gag reflex. I am so mad that I did the test because he was exposed to some radiation because of it. THe doctor says the risk is very minimal, but I hate myself for letting him have the test when he didn't actually need it! I feel like the worst mom ever, and I am just sick thinking about it. :(

Flava
January 13th, 2013, 01:10 PM
I had no test done i just don't think he needs any. But you are a good mom that is why you took him to take the test. Better safe the sorry right?
You don't feel when the milk come out to fast or to much? That's why he is choking it's way to much in his mouth.
Try to express some out before he eats if you have time for it , that should work.
I feel when I have more milk coming.Only on the morning because that's the only time I have some more.
How old is your baby? and what's the things he is doing? Mine is 2 months next week and we have to go get the shots I so hate that ! Usually I send DH in with the baby because I cant I feel so sorry for them I cry.:SS:

Hobbermittens
January 14th, 2013, 10:55 AM
I do feel the milk letting down, but I have always felt it, and none of my other kids seemed to have any trouble when nursing, so I never realize it was a problem. It never occurred to me that was what was wrong, and I assumed it was reflux, because my baby book says that reflux can cause choking while eating. My doctor didn't realize what the problem was either, so he sent me to a specialist. I am just so angry and upset that he had this test for no reason.

THe shots are sad, but they are over fast. Hopefully your DH will take the baby in so you don't have to.

Flava
January 14th, 2013, 11:54 AM
What are you doing when baby is not sleeping? Im out of ideas here.
Hopefully DH can take him he just have to work a lot right now so maybe not...I know it's over fast but to see that they poke him over and over and he just lay there crying makes me so sad. It sucks!

So baby is eating better now or still the same way? I would be worried too.

just found this too, good to read the updates!!
my LO, Oscar, is doing well - so much more content and easier than his brother was. He's a happy boy and sleeps far better at night too (although it's still a bit hit or miss with how long he sleeps)

Hobber- I think some LOs are just stronger suckers than others. DS1 would take 45mins to nurse as a newborn - DS2 could be done within 7 mins at the same age. Perhaps your LO is just a touch slower swallower?

Hobbermittens
January 14th, 2013, 05:52 PM
Hi Rainbow! Glad your baby is doing well.

He is a strong sucker, and doesn't nurse for ever. I am not sure how long he feeds for, but it seems less than some of my others.

I figured out from the Le Leche website that if feed him so he is on my belly or upright he doesn't choke nearly as much, so we are doing that now. I just wish so much that I had figured this out two weeks ago before he had xrays. :(

hey best buds again!!

*waves Flava, Hobbers, and Rainbow*

Lillian was doing better, but now she's Mrs. Cranky again because she's starting to teeth (I don't see it anyting, but I can feel something along the ridge line) it is making her so unhappy, she's constantly chomping on her fingers and she just discovered thumb sucking. DS1 thumb sucked until he was about a year and then he just dropped it, so hopefully she'll do the same.

I put her on the floor today because she can flip and I'm trying to get her more "excerise" and I ran into the kitchen to get DS2 more milk in his sippy and I come back into the living room to see him trying to pick her up by her legs...Oh God, I thought I'd had a mini heart attack! He's a little too interested in her most of the time....he is such a mess, my DS2.

DS1 whose 5 got into the habit of shaking his head and saying "mommy, mommy, mommy" like he's going to scold me, heh.

Hi rainbow!! how old is Oscar? good that he is a easy baby for you!

aurora-good to "see" u too! My DD2 was a thumb sucker but from day1 ! I find that so cute!! And she just stop on her own no worries. I like that a lot better than the paci. DD1 had it and it was a total nightmare to take it away finally. DD3and 4 did nothing at all and now baby boy take the paci sometimes when we go for a walk or when he is in the rock and sleep. i wish he would find his thumb too!

Once DD4 picked up the baby and was holding him but he was hanging down a little I was so scared too!

What are the babies doing yet? I asked hobber but she is not telling me lol.

I try to give him some floor time but he don't stay there much. And tummy time is like maybe 2-3 minutes because he don't like it !

aurora you lost 2lb Im so jealous! What are you doing? I absolutely hate hate the way I look omg so fat! I walk every day now and do some little exercise here and there when I have a couple minutes but not loosing a damn oz! :hair::mad:
Of course I know why because I still BF .Kinda forcing it because there is barely any milk I have to add a bottle to every feeding now but I feel so sad to stop it and sorry for baby. And I know I will never ever do this again. Kinda lost what to do really. But I know soon is over anyway.

People with lost of milk are so lucky! But bottle feeding is so much easier now for us because baby is sad and angry when not much milk is coming.
Ok Im just going on and on here kinda talking to myself lol.

I need to see baby pics girls!

have you tried fenugreek, eating lots of oats, etc? those can really improve milk supply. Unfortunately the more you supplement the less you will produce.. but pumping can also really improve your supply too if you express on the boob you just fed on 30mins after a feed, and then use any expressed milk as a top up at the next feed (or at the end of the day when supply is lower). Saying that, even one BF a day is enough to give them the immunity benefits.

FWIW I'm BF and I haven't lost a single lb since DS2 was 4 weeks old, and I still have about 10lbs to go to my normal weight!

ETA - just seen your other question - Oscar is 3.5 months now. He sucks his hand but hasn't found his thumb yet (keep hoping he will). William didn't take either dummy (paci) or suck his thumb so he didn't settle well and was an appalling sleeper.

Flava, with the flu going around, it is great that you are still able to breast feed your baby a little bit. It is so scary with all those germs going around! WHat is your baby's name? Will you post a picture?

Rainbow, when was Oscar born? My DS is just about 3 1/2 months now too.

Auroara, that is scary about what your DS did, trying to pick up Lillian--I worry that my DD2 might try that. So how is Lillian teething already??

This is my 5th baby I know all the tricks to try and get more milk but just nothing works for me. It was like this with all my babys I don't even know why I bother again I should have know it will be like this.
I have to give formula because he is screaming on the boobs for food .Now ay I let him go hungry. It is sad I cry about it but can't change it. Some of us just don't have enough milk no matter how hard we try nothing works.
i always thought ppl with lots of milk are so lucky and they don't even know.

Auroara, Lillian is beautiful! She looks to me like your DS1 from pictures I have seen. She has the same pretty lips!

Dloui, I love West's hair! He's so cute! Did you take that picture, or did you get it done professionally? It's really good! I wish I had done newborn pics with my kids. Sawyer had some done in the hospital, and they came out nice, but there wasn't anything special about them. I did some myself when he was about a month or so old, but I don't have the equipment to take true "professional" pictures.

Flava, I don't know when babies are supposed to roll over. I really don't remember when my others did. Sawyer started doing it almost exactly at 3 months. He only goes from his belly to his back, so every time we try to do tummy time, he ends up on his back instead.

Flava, Benjamin is sooo cute! Love his smile!! Dlouli, love the bigger pic of West!

I think Lillian definitely resembles DS1, and I love it...they have the same lips. DS1 is my sweet helper boy, who really helped me appreciate boys! He always tells me how I'm his best friend and how he loves me so much. Can't wait until I hear DS2 say it, it really is crazy having two in diapers at once, I'm still waiting for DS2 to say things, he says words here and there and today he wrapped his arms around me and hugged me, so that was sweet (he's usually too busy being on the run to stop for hugs.)

Flava, I lost 10 lbs and then regained it, then lost 5, gained back 5, so....my weight loss has been pinponging like mad. I'm trying to avoid sweets, and work out, and that's helping some, but when I slip off track for even one day, I feel like I'm back to being 5 lbs heavier again!

And also, I tried BF'ing my two boys and it didn't work out, mostly because my supply would never establish well because my right breast doesn't express milk thanks to cut milk ducts due to a surgery I had in my 20s. Anyway, this 3rd time, I didn't bother trying, but my sisters tried to make me feel guilty, like I being the worst mother in the world for not even trying to give my child what I could from my BF. But with my husband being a stay at home dad, it made no sense to try to pump maybe 2 oz out total and go through all that hassle at work (I don't have a private office, I work reference desk at library all day) so I made the right choice for me, even though others tried to guilt me into feeding Lillian some from the breast. My one sister urged just to let her suckle even if no milk would come out to give her that bond. While I think BF'ing is beyond excellent, i have tried and tried, and I just washed my hands to it.

aurora-where did everyone saw your DS1 if you post a pic I missed it.

It's really not nice from your own sis to try to make you feel guilty ! You are a good mom you take care of your baby and don't let her go hungry! That's the most important thing! Some women's just don't understand or not even try that not everyone can BF not everyone is full of milk and no matter how hard they try there is just no more milk coming!!!
How come that our liver , heart ect works different but when it comes to the breast them bummm it's all the same for all of us? It's crazy to think so.

At least you did loose weight that's good! I will not loose until I BF even just a drip! Even with walking and exercise ! It's just stuck on me like it's glued on.
I have to loose 30lbs .Or more because my scale is broken so Im not sure have to buy a new one to see. I guess it's just bothering me more the others. Would be nice to put on my old clothes I have like 1 jeans right now and 3 shirts!
Plus I can't spend money on me I have 5 kids to buy stuff for.

hey ladybug ! So nice look like we gonna have a little group here to chit chat!
Our babys are the closest in age I can ask what is your little girl doing lol
I have to hold him a lot to he is just getting better to sit a little in the rock and play and a couple min. on the floor. Oh and we need pics!

The doc yesterday said maybe we have acid reflux too Im just about to google that because I have no idea about it.
My baby spit up a lot to and in any time no matter when he ate or if he lay down sitting up whatever he is just spitting up a lot.
Some days are better then others .
When will this stop? Do they grow out of it or what?
The doc just said feed him more often smaller portions. Well that's what we are doing kinda so it's not working. I don't know what else to do.

Hi Ladybug! Sorry about Makalee having reflux. It's hard when babies don't feel good. From what I understand, most of the time they will grow out of it.

Flava, is your baby happy most of the time, or is he cranky? I thought mine had reflux too, but he is pretty happy mostly, so they say that if they are happy, the spitting up can be pretty normal.

hobber- I don't even know...or not sure. I have to hold him a lot and he only sleep 5-10 min. but he is not crying in pain or anything like that .So I guess he is ok?
Can you put your baby down and he is happy playing with his hand hanging out ect ?
We can't do that but maybe because he is just to little yet or because he want's to be held a lot and that's it.
Oh I wanted to ask what is that thing your baby is laying on?

How does everyone put baby down to sleep? On it's own and baby fall asleep or have to put him/her to sleep first ?
My baby only fall asleep sometimes in the day time for a short but at night we have to put him down sleeping already.

He use to wake up once eat and go back to sleep but now for a couple day he is up eat and don't want to go back to sleep just cry and fussy . I don't know why and DH was angry last night.:(

Hey Flava!!! Makalee just started smiling and cooing...she was 4 weeks early and was considered a premie, but she is right on target for a 2 month old....

As for the reflux, she will out grow it....this is my second baby with it....She was not a happy spitter at all..she screamed like it was hurting her...it should get better around 6 months....

Makalee will not just go to sleep on her own yet either...she actually hates every chair, bouncer and swing we have and will only nap in the arms all day....I wear her most of the time in a carrier during the day...but i am lucky as she will sleep in her crib all night once we rock her to sleep....

ladybug-I was posting that my baby sleeps at night too and we was happy . But for like a week now he wakes up to eat and don't want to go back to sleep anymore .It's really not easy and we have no idea why he change like this. He use to wake up only once eat and go back to sleep. i don't know what to do! And the top of this he do not sleep in the day time! Just some 5-10 min naps on me or in the rock and sleep that's it!

OMG - I can't believe I only found this thread now!! For the past two months I've been thinking of coming back here to set up a thread like this, and here there was one the whole time! I've missed you guys.

Sadie's 4 months now, and I'm still in awe of having a daughter. She's an absolute joy to be around - her smile lights up the room, and she smiles all the time. Here's a picture I took last night.

8230

She's not a great napper, which is very different from all my boys. She naps when we're on the move - grocery shopping, etc., but rarely naps in her crib. Her nighttime sleep was pretty good until recently, but about a week ago she had a stomach bug and was miserable for days, then this week she's teething and is up every hour. Luckily she just has a quick nurse and goes right back to sleep. I finally moved her to her crib a few weeks ago because she was outgrowing her Moses basket, but I still occasionally bring her into bed with me.

I've been working, really, really hard to lose the baby weight and have lost 45 lbs so far!! I'm back to my normal pre-LE diet weight, but I'd like to get a little lower (the allure of fitting back into those size 0 jeans), so I'm going to keep at it for a while longer. I'm just tracking my calories very carefully, and eating no more than 1800 calories a day, which takes into account the 600 calories or so I burn by breastfeeding exclusively. Luckily for me I've never had supply issues, and dieting hasn't affected my supply at all.

So excited to catch up with you all and see your gorgeous babies!

Mocha!! So glad you found us here on the forums!!!

Lillian's been pretty cranky too with the teething. Yesterday tho, I spent like an hour just holding her and talking to her, and she LOVED it! she kept making noises, and smiling, keeping her eyes fastened on me. It broke my heart.

DS2 yesterday spilled out an small bottle of baby powder all over his room. Nothing major, it was easily vaccumed, but that boy is always cruising and looking for trouble!

I think or hope Benjamin is all better. He still spit up a lot .Mostly the BM the formula not so much. I don't know why?The doc said add a tsp of rice cereal in his bottle and that should help . We did not do it yet I don't know if he can drink it out like that ? Or if it's a good idea at all. Plus mostly we have problem with BM and I can't add nothing to that lol.

sorry about the teething DD4 had her first 2 when she was just 4 months old! No fun...

He is up again slept 10 min wow ...have to go.
How is everyone else??

Now I have the flu. Sawyer is getting better. THey gave him tamiflu, and it really helped. He still has a cough and some congestion, and had a rough night last night--he wanted to be held all night, so I slept sitting up. I feel like total crap. I hate flu season! My entire family had the flu shot (except Sawyer--he was too little) so I have NO idea why everyone got sick anyway! And then yesterday DS1 puked in the car; apparently there is a stomach bug going around as well. Aaaahhh!

Mocha, so glad you found us! Sadie is a doll! I love her little dress and sweater in that picture, too. She's a beauty!

Auroara, Lillian sounds so sweet! I am glad you are enjoying her. Your DS2 and my DD2 should get married someday..... they might be the next Bonnie and Clyde!! (just kidding!)

Flava, I don't know why Benjamin won't nap, but the baby I watch (he's 15 months now) was like that when he was little. He only cat napped. It was hard! But he grew out of it, and now takes 2 hour naps. Hopefully Benjamin will grow out of it too.

p.s. Mocha, congrats on the weight loss--that's awesome! I have lost quite a bit since Sawyer's birth (I was 192 when I delivered--yikes!--and now I am down to 154) but I am still 25 lbs away from where I should be. I feel like a whale! I need to start exercising! What have you done to lose weight?

hobber Im sorry you guys are so sick. It is very hard for sure. We are not even suppose to be sick around here but there is so many ppl here this time around from up north and Canada and they bring all the viruses with them so we all get sick too.
We took DD1 to the ER a couple weeks ago and they said it's always full with out of state ppl lol.

I sure hope my baby out grow this cat naps fast because it's really hard to get anything done and my back is killing me.

Think mocha said she is counting calories and dieting too so she loosing weight.
I walk almost everyday and do some exercise but not loosing nothing because of the BF. have to loose 30lbs here!

Hobbermittens
January 24th, 2013, 04:37 PM
I know Flava, I need to lose 25 but I wouldn't mind losing 30! All I have lost so far has been from Bfing, but that is slow going.... I need to start exercising. Problem is, I HATE exercise!! I would swim if I could, but we don't have a lap pool here (my town is so small!)

Flava
January 25th, 2013, 08:23 AM
I wish I have time to go anywhere to work out! Even for the walks I only can go because I take the baby and DD4. But it's not fun with DD4 she is so slow she stop all the time for something she don't want to listen or she is whining for something ect. so not a relaxing walk. and I have to hope all the time baby don't start crying if he is up.so yeah...
I would like to go biking but only can do that when DH is home earlier and I can go alone of course. My legs are so weak can barely bike a little :( so i could really use some training here!

Hobbermittens
January 25th, 2013, 11:37 AM
Maybe we should do work out videos! I wonder if there are any decent ones out there?

So how is Baby Benjamin? Is he all better? Sawyer is doing okay I think, he seems better. I am still sick, but not too bad. I am just waiting for my other kids to start barfing, since DS1 puked the other day, I am sure someone else will get the stomach bug....

Flava
January 26th, 2013, 12:02 PM
hobber I was thinking the same thing!! But no idea what to get? I don't know which workout dvd would be the best.

Benjamin is all better maybe he was not sick at all or just very little. What makes me crazy is he got a blocked tear duct on one eye and it's just not getting better. The other side was the same but got all ok after like 2 week or so.
DD2 had the same on one side.
I wish the big sisters would like to play with him more ...but hopefully when he is a little bigger and can hold toys and such...

Good thing Sawyer is all better! I hope none of your other kids get sick! On 1 side I hate this months but on the other this are the only couple months we can go outside here!

Hi ladies - sorry - I forgot to check back in here. I have to get back into the habit of doing that...

Yes, I achieved my weight loss really just by counting calories. I use the iPhone app Loseit. I entered my details and how much weight I wanted to lose a week (1.5 lbs). It told me I could eat 1200 calories per day, and there's no way I could do that...but because I'm breastfeeding exclusively, I added 600 calories to that - the average amount of calories a breastfeeding woman burns in a day. So I'm eating 1800 calories a day - similar to when I was on the LE diet. Actually, I'm eating in a similar way to LE. I usually skip breakfast because it gives me more calories to play with later in the day, then I have a healthy 300-500 calorie lunch, a big dinner, and snacks In the evening. No exercise other than running after my kids. I was 178 a week before Sadie was born and am now 132. I'm at my ' normal' adult weight when not dieting. I could be happy here, but since the weight's come off so easily so far I figure why not go a bit further? My goal is 115 lbs. I don't want to be quite as skinny as I was while TTC, when I was close to 100.

I hope everyone's kids are feeling better. Sadie has started rolling from her back to her tummy and back again. I've finally gotten her adjusted to an early bedtime 6:30-7:00, and she's only waking up twice in the night and sleeping till 7 or so...but still no real naps during the day unless she's in the stroller or car.

Wow, I am jealous of your weight loss Mocha! I just don't think I have the discipline to count calories like that. I like my crappy junk food too much. I have been trying to exercise the past couple days, but making time to do it i hard.

Has anyone else been sick? It is ridiculous here. I swear my whole town is sick right now, and we are getting everything the older kids bring home from school. The whole family just had a stomach bug, which has knocked us all out for days.... DD2 has had the worst of it, diahrrea and throwing up. The thing with her is, she pukes and then seems fine for 24 hours, and then she pukes again! Its been like this since Saturday, and I don't know when it will stop!

HEY GIRLS!!!!!
How is everyone going!!??? I have not been on here for so long I miss it!! I have not had a computer so finally I am back!
Well after I had Oliver I got very depressed ( not due to his gender ) but I do suffer from depression and I had not been on any medication for 10 months so all the hormones and lack of medication I was suffering BIG TIME! I had a sick baby aswell so that was making things 10 times worse! Oliver suffers from very bad reflux he is now having half a losec tablet daily which is the best thing ever! From the day I brought him home he just could not sleep and was so uncomfortable ... I felt terrible I was a total mess with lack of sleep.. I was only getting about 2 hrs sleep if that a night and I tried him on everything possible but nothing was working. I could not get him in to see a pead for over 3 months and I was just a wreck! At 7 weeks old he got very sick with a bad cough and ended up with very bad bronchiolitus if thats how its spelt so Oliver and I ended up in hospital for a week which was a nightmare!!!!! But in some ways I am glad because he got put on the Losec and now is a much happier baby! He is a very placid little bub but still not a great sleeper tho I am getting used to the not sleeping!!!! I am feeling so much better I am coping alot better now and I really cant wait to get pregnant again!!!! Even tho I had a very tough 3 months it has not put me off and I still want to have a big family! 5 children will be fine!!!!!
So anyway as for weight loss I am 10 kgs lighter then before i got pregnant! none of my clothes fit me I am always having to buy myself new outfits ( I dont mind that ) Hubby doesnt mind either! :-)... I was only about 5 kgs over weight to start with but still I think I am doing well. I have got myself a treadmil now so when I do get Ollie down for a sleep I run my butt off!!!!
Ds1 starts kinder tomorrow so thats all very exciting for us.. Another new chapter!
talk to you girls soon! Hope you are all well! xo

Hi Peony! Hi Pinkin! SO glad you found us!

Pinkin, having a baby that doesn't sleep is so hard! I wish I had some advice for you. Good thing Ollie's reflux is under control, but what a pity he had to get so sick first. Congrats on the weight loss! That's awesome! I still have about 20 lbs to go.... lucky for me (ha ha) we just had the stomach flu at our house, and that helped me lose 5 lbs.

Sawyer just had his 4 month check up. He's 15 lbs 3 oz, and 25 inches long! He's huge! None of my other kids were this big.

Flava, could you hire a baby sitter or someone to come for a few hours a day? Maybe that would help? I wish I had the money to hire help--I need a housekeeper. Even if I had someone for a few hours ce a week to help with the cleaning, it would make a HUGE difference!

Flava
February 10th, 2013, 09:06 AM
hobber-I sure could use help but the only way I can get any is to pay for it and we are not rich at all .Maybe I could do it this days DH have lot's of work and make more money but it would be nice to finally save some and not give it out.
And so he is never home I feel like a single parent he comes home most days after the kids go to bed .So things are even harder :sigh::thumbsdown:

Oh forget saving! We can't ever do that. We live paycheck to paycheck.

My DH isn't home much either..... he works all week and skis all weekend. And when he is home, he is out in his "man cave" and isn't much help anyway. I totally get what you mean about feeling like a single parent.

Wow, sounds like plenty of bubs have been sick. How are they doing now? And Pinkin, your poor little love had a rough start with the reflux. It sounds exhausting, so it is good to hear he is much happier now. How did your DS1 go at kinder?

I have not actively been trying to lose my baby weight. In the past it has come off slowly and when I finish BF then the last few kilos drop off and I feel like myself again. (That should happen in around 9 months!!) I am still 8 kg (17lbs) heavier than pre-baby! It is mostly stuck on my tummy which I am reasonably good at hiding, so for now I am ok with it. I do think it is fabulous that Mocha and Pinkin are looking like Yummy Mummies though!

Sasha has been a dream baby from the start. My Mum says I must have been blessed with such an easy baby as my life was so hectic when she was born and then I had the surgery soon after I had her. She still feeds once a night and is a very smiley and content LO. She will be 3 months old in 2 days. Not rolling as yet. She is just starting to use her hands more and is fascinated by her feet and will stare at them for ages! She refuses to take a dummy and I wonder if she will suck her thumb like DS2 (he started when he was 3 months).

We moved from the top of Australia to the West Coast just before Christmas. It was pretty crazy and I still don't feel organised. My DH has continued going away for work. He has almost finished his second lot of 2 weeks away. Then he will have 2 weeks off before starting a new job. It will still mean working away but in a few months he will be based in our city more. My boys are both now at school full time. DS2 is trying to get used to long days but his teacher is great. DS1 is a little shy, so I have organised a whole-class party for his birthday in 10 days. I arranged it through a company that does kids parties and it sounds amazing...bound to make him the coolest kid in the class!

As you all know I had the post partum haemorrhage 10 days after I had Sasha. I heard today that a friend who helped look after me at the time (and who was pregnant) also had a PPH on Monday, 6 days after her baby was born. They weren't able to stop the bleeding by doing a D & C so she had to have a hysterectomy. She was in Intensive Care for a day and needed 20 units of blood transfused. She will be 40 soon so wasn't wanting any more children, but she is lucky to even be alive. We are so fortunate to live somewhere with great healthcare. So many women around the world don't have help at hand.

I will see if I can put a photo of my sweet Sasha on here. I will delete it at some point as I don't like leaving photos on here permanently. And I look forward to hearing how everyone is going.

Glad to hear from ya'll both pinkin and peony!!

We are doing good. Lillian is really smiling now and is always trying to shove her hand or your hands in her mouth. She is getting two bottom teeth in! She's 5 months now, and she is still my smallest baby, she weighs about 12 lbs. She was wearing 0-3 months still until two weeks ago, and now she's gotten really long out of nowhere, because her 3-6 mos clothes are too short, though plenty of room in the body.

Peony, Sasha is gorgeous! She sounds like a great baby. I am glad to hear you and your family are well. Is it hard having your DH gone so much? Do you like the new city you live in? I bet your DS will have a great time at his birthday.... and inviting the whole class was smart, so he can make more friends. That story about your friend is scary! I didn't realize it could get that bad. I hemorrhaged after two of my births (Sawyer and my other DS) and it was scary, but never life threatening, and I never had a transfusion.

Auroara, sounds like Lillian is doing great! Teeth already? Wow! How is she sleeping? Size wise, she sounds like my DD2. She is so dinky that she just started wearing 2T stuff around Christmas time, and she will be 3 in March!

Hobber, it wouldn't let me see you picture for some reason. Said invalid link. Sawyer sounds like such a sweetie. I love babies chuckles, I don't think there is a better sound in the world.
I miss my DH when he is away, but then when he is back the routine I have the kids in gets thrown out the window and it drives me crazy! The boys have really missed him this time around so that is the worst bit about it. At least this time he will be on holiday for 2 weeks so he will be relaxed and not thinking of work. He has had a very stressful job and he 'copes' by drinking too much. The next job will also be stressful I am sure but he has learnt a lot from the last job and looks at this one as more of a stepping stone for up to 2 years before he sets up his own business.
We are back living where I grew up, so back to family and old friends. I love it and also the weather is a lot milder here, so I am not constantly dripping sweat!
I managed to avoid a blood transfusion too when I had my haemorrhage. I feel bad for her husband as well as I know how scared mine was that he was going to lose me. It is supposed to be such a happy time and then you are faced with a crisis.

My DH was away for Valentine's Day...he gets home tomorrow. I made my boys cards and they made one (DS1 did one for the family, including the dog!) and DS2 did one for his teacher (complete with a drawing of her...as he was drawing it I heard him say to himself "and a big tummy"...thankfully he didn't mention that part to her)! DS2 got one from a little girl in his class. They are 5. Very sweet. Sounds like they get along as they both love climbing!

Sorry your DH was away for Valentines, but maybe he will make it up to you when he gets back. Is he romantic? My DH is NOT! He usually hates valentines, but I guess he felt bad for ignoring me every year, so he cut me a heart out of wood yesterday. I know it sounds dumb, but it totally made my day!

hobber it's nice you DH made something for you. I got flowers and chocolate but I so don't care about Valentine .I think it's just another mad up day to get money off from ppl.

Im sure I get AF soon. I had a lot's of ewcm and big O pains. It's not even funny I hate to have AF and I only got 3 moths off!

I know, flava, mine came back after 3 months!! I couldn't believe it! This baby eats a lot, too--not sure what happened. I didn't get AF back until 5 months with my DDs and 8 months with DS1.

That is so sweet of your DH Hobber. Mine is not a romantic, but he is a really lovely guy. After DS1 I didn't get AF for 11 months and it was over 12 months after DS2. Because Sasha feeds less often I am thinking it will come back sooner this time. DH and I are not taking any risks in the bedroom that is for sure!
It is my DS1s 7th birthday today. He is having a big party with his whole classroom invited. Time for me to go and finish getting organised while he and DS2 are at tennis lessons. Hope everyone is going well!
Oh and I had Sasha weighed the other day. At 3 months she is already 6.1kg (13.4lbs!) She is on the 80th percentile for weight and length now!

When do you guys normally start solid food? I was thinking to wait 6 months but maybe I do it earlier .
My baby want's my food he is so cute he is licking his lips sticking his tongue out and smacking . And just gets all worked up kicking and waving his arms lol
Also I think he may be teething? Not sure but he is drooling (not all the time ) and chewing on his fist a lot.
Im hoping his teeth comes later because DD had 2 at 4 months and had to start taking care of it and brushing it so a lot better when it comes in late lol

Lillian's 5 months old (almost 6 in March) and she has two bottom teeth already. And she has had them for like three weeks. When I thought she was teething, because of crankiness, drool, the pedi said it was too early. And two weeks later she popped out two teeth...so I'd definitely believe your instinct.

We are doing fine. Lillian's still very "diva"ish, but when she smiles, she lights up the room! She's getting more hair, but only on the very top of her hair, and it's coming in dark brown, whereas the boys were both (and still are) blonde, so that's different. DS2 still loves her so much and says "love you lily" but he wont' tell me or my DH that he loves us.

DS1 is always trying to play a video game, almost too much. Getting him to bed and up in the morning is starting to become a hassle.

How is everyone else doing?

Oh I know he is teething for sure now! He is drooling all the time now and has his fist in his mouth all the time and his burpy cloths .He like to chew on that.
Anyway Im not happy about it at all. Don't know why this early .My first 3 baby's got it later only DD4 was early.

Also still BF but just 1 or 2 time a day .I think only because Im so sad to stop .There is like almost no milk left really. Oh yeah and he bites me sometimes! The girls never bit me!
He also had very little hair and still have blocked tear ducts on the right side and Im soooo sick of it .I wish it would be open already.Poor baby...
Still not sleeping much in the day time but sleeps all night long for weeks now. (hope it still that way now that I posted this lol)
He smiles and talk all the time he is just so damn charming and cute :awe:

aurora- your kids sound so cute! Your DS2 is like my DD3 she always go to baby when he starts crying or just to talk to him ect.
And yeah my kids want's to play online and video games too so I made 2 "no game day" a week when they only can play with their toys. It works. And other days they have limited time to "go on" and play.

And yeah how is everyone else? This place is to quiet...

Hey ladies! I can't believe Lillian and Benjamin are teething already! Both my DDs got their first teeth at 1 year (DD2 was actually 13 months) and DS1 got his first tooth at 8 months, so I don't expect anything here for a while.

Sawyer is so funny. He is laughing all the time, and it is the cutest thing! Yesterday, he was cracking up at DD2 when she was shaking a sandwich bag full of graham crackers. Not sure why that was so funny to him! He's grabbing stuff now and talking up a storm. He has shifted from being a baby who used to never want to be held, to a baby who never wants to be put down! It is making cleaning etc. a little more difficult. I try to wear him in the Ergo and the Moby when I can.

My thyroid is acting up again. I had half removed after DD2 was born because I had a nodule, and now I have a nodule on the other half, so my doctor says it has to come out. They said I can wait a while, though, which is good, so I can wait until summer or sometime when family can visit and help, because I don't want to have to leave DH with 4 kids while I go in for surgery and spend the night in the hospital! He did okay with it when it was just the 3 kids (DD2 was 3 months old then) but I worry about him dealing with all 4. He has no patience lately and has been losing his temper with everyone!

Yes I do the massage too but it's not helping nothing on this eye. He also had it on the left and that cleared up very fast like after a week. And that was months ago! DD2 also had this and cleared up around 2 months.
I read that it can be up to a year I so hope thats not the case for us!

hobber sorry about your thyroid problems! I don't know nothing about it but hope they fix it for you soon.
Also have no clue about bab'ys who don't want to be held lol my babies all wanted that all the time! So welcome to the club hehe . Yeah not easy to get anything done for sure! And now with the teething going on I have to hold him all the time ugghhh....he likes to be up on my shoulder and chew on his fist or on his burpy cloth or both .And you have to walk around the same time with him don't dare to sit down !
So yeah try to clean or cook and take care of 4 other kids and DH...my life it's easy lololol

The laughing sound so cute! My baby did that a couple times this last days and we love it too!
what do you do when he is in the moby? I have a sleepy wrap but not really use it because I still can't cook or do much when he is in it on me.

Thanks ladies. I hope it is benign like last time. The sufery isn't too bad--it wasn't last time, anyway, though this time I asked for my tonsils to come out too. I heard tonsils are a harder recovery.

Auroara, Sawyer used to be like that! He hardly wanted to be held at all. But now he is super clinging! I have to hold him all the time. He sleeps with me, too, so he gets held/snuggled all night, too. Maybe I spoiled him!

Flava, I just cleaned the kitchen, vacuumed and swept, and made the other kids lunch while Sawyer was in the Ergo. Dishes are hard, and eating is hard! I dripped some food on his head while I was trying to have my lunch!

My other kids only turned one way at first and learned to turn back later.
And DH missed it of course because he was at work. Just like today :(
Yeah the money is good but we need him home. DD3 asked him if he can not to work so much and stay home a little ? It made me sad.
Anyway I try the wrap today .Im not sure if I should put his legs in or separate it and hang it out now? Well see...only I suppose to clean bathrooms and can't do that with baby hanging on me. hmmmm
I vacuum the house every day so at least I can do that for sure.

Sadie is now officially a sitting baby. She's been getting a stronger and stronger torso, so a couple of days ago I tried to sit her on the floor with a pillow behind her. She sat for 10 minutes before toppling over. Today she sat for 30 minutes playing with toys but then started looking tired so I picked her up. She's growing up too fast!

Flava - I have a Moby Wrap too, but I find now that Sadie's getting bigger I prefer a soft structured carrier. My favourite is the Beco Butterfly II. It's much better for baby's hips than something like a Bjorn, and you can wear your baby on your back as easily as your front. I love wearing Sadie on my back - I can do pretty much anything I need to get done around the house - cooking, cleaning, laundry - I even painted my living room walls and baseboards while wearing her last week! The best part is you get a bit of a workout while wearing them because of the extra weight you're carrying around.

Speaking of which, I've now lost 52 lbs since Sadie was born. I decided to set my goal lower than my normal pre-diet weight, and I'm almost there. I'm back into all but the skinniest of the clothes I was wearing last year while on LE diet.

Sadie is so big! Sawyer isn't even close to sitting yet. He falls forward. I can't believe they are so big already--time is just flying by! Weren't we all pegnant yesterday? That's how it feels.

I haven't tried putting Sawyer on my back yet either--I might try that later. It would really help if he would ride that way!

I thought of putting baby on my back but never tried. Well did with DD4 but could not. Only tried this "African " style you know when you wrap you baby in a peace a cloth or what and put him up like that. Well can't do it lol. This Beco is expensive so it's better be good , right? (at least for me a 180$ is a lot) And what if he don't like it? hmm I love to try it for sure.
Grats on the weight loos!
No more BF for us :(:SS: so no I try to loose it too. I guess I put on a ticker for inspiration lol

I will try the juicing .Watched a lot of documentary about plant base diet and such I would love to switch to that .Well see if we can or not. But eating a lot more veggie and fruit already! omg i had no idea how meat and animal product is so bad for us !

hobber- sure they grow up fast when we are looking back! Not when we are in it every day go so slow lol
My baby is pulling his head up too when he is like half way sitting . Im sure we are far away from that but he already trying to sit up so funny.

The thing about the Beco butterfly that's great is the internal harness. You can fasten your baby in then hoist him or her onto your back. I was never good at balancing my baby on my back while securing a wrap - this is sooooo much easier.

Do you have any baby stores nearby that would sell them? One near me will let you bring your baby and try all the carriers out before you buy. You can also try to find a used one. I got mine used for about $90 three years ago. The sites babywearer.com and diaperswappers.com have lots of used carrier listings.

Mocha, Sadie is so dang adorable!! Enjoy every second of her!!

Lillian is not able to sit up on her own a lot. She still sleeps more than I remember my other two sleeping, but she's doing well at her pedi visits, so I'm assuming everything is going well, since she passes all the milestones. She's trying to learn to crawl though and can move her away around the room by just rolling a lot, and flipping from stomach to back. So I guess those are the skills she's worried about mastering right now.

Her and all my kids and hubby and I have been terribly sick with a nasty cold. She's got such bad congestion she coughs really hard and sounds terrible...poor baby! She had a fever too for the last two nites so I keep giving her infant drops to reduce it.

Although this is not in the works for a few years, I'm still torn about whether I even want a 4th or not. I really thought I did when I was pregnant with Lillian. I really had this beautiful dream of having my 4 kids (I like even numbers!) and maybe even having a 2nd DD. Now, I'm like so tired, too tired to care about having another girl, or another boy one day. I guess it's because I've got two diapers and DS2 is still so hard most days. He'll be two next month, and I'm praying it will calm him down even more. The frustrating part with him is he understands us well but chooses not to listen. He drives me nuts! DS1 is most of the time easy but when he gets in his whiny moods that's also ear-gratingly annoying. And then Lillian can sometimes be an angel or sometimes really hard to handle.

Unless something changes in the next two years, like we get a lot of money, and have a bigger house / car, I just don't see us adding a 4th. And that makes me feel a little sad, because I think deep down, I'd still like it. I just feel like there are so many obstacles standing in the way of it happening.

Hi everyone. Lovely to read how you are going. I tried to type something a few weeks ago on Tapatalk and then I accidentally deleted it and then we got sick for 2 weeks. It was just a horrible cold but it is not fun having a little nose breather who is all stuffed up is it?! Hobber and Auroara, it sounds like your babies have had more then their fair share of illness already. Lets hope it gives them a good immune system for later on (but it is horrible at the time). I put off getting Sasha's 4 month vaccinations until tomorrow as last week she was not 100% better.

I also managed to fall over while carrying Sasha when we were sick. I was walking to collect DS1 from school and also had DS2 with me as he was home sick from school. I managed to trip over DS2 and was suddenly flying through the air. In that split second I also felt like Sasha was being flung out of my arms so I had to yank her towards me, take the fall heavily on my knees and then roll onto my back so Sasha ended up on top of me. It was weird how quickly it happened and yet how I was very aware of trying to protect her. Somehow DS2 avoided getting bowled over altogether. One of the school dads was nearby and helped me up and I had to get some dressings from the office to patch up my very badly grazed knees (they are still recovering 3 weeks later!) The next night Sasha was screaming and totally miserable. I realised I had never heard her scream before and in the end I had to give her baby pain medicine (which did help). I had to do the same thing 2 days later. I was due to go to the chiropractor so I took Sasha with me and mentioned that I had fallen and was pretty sure I yanked Sasha as I fell, so she didn't hit her head. Sure enough the left side of her neck had seized up and the chiro was able to massage it out (they don't do anything rough on babies) and she has not screamed since. It is so nice to have my healthy, happy girl back. For 2 weeks she was too snotty and tired to do anything except feed and sleep. Now she is back to giggling and 'talking'.

Auroara, so many things can change. Just take one day at a time for now and see how life pans out for you. We were only ever going to have the 2 boys and then we moved to the other side of Australia, DH had a different job, I wasn't working, and a few other things meant that I started looking into swaying and having another baby. You have a lot going on right now, including juggling your job and family, not to mention dealing with a sick family which makes everything so hard. I'm sure things will settle down enough at some point for you to reach the right decision on baby #4.

Time for me to try some of the chocolate/coconut slice I just got out of the oven. Not long until Easter. Have any of you got plans? We do an Easter egg hunt for the kids and are going to my parent's house for lunch. I love chocolate!! Sasha will have to wait until next year to have some (or get it in my milk)! Take care all of you.

Wow, Peony, you must have amazingly quick reflexes! How awesome that you were able to save your baby girl from falling like that! I'm sorry you got hurt in the process, though. It sounds rough to have been sick for so long, and then hurt! :( I hope you are all fully well soon. I didn't know you could take a baby to the chiropractor, but it's great that they helped Sasha!

I thought we were finally getting to the end of the sick season here, but then last week the little boy I watch threw up in my car (yuck!). I am hoping no one else gets it.....we all had the norovirus in January. The stomach bugs are terrible!

DD2 turned 3 today. We had a little family party for her and I made her a banana cake shaped like an Owl, at her request. It tasted better than it looked! She is still a complete terror most of the time, and destroys pretty much everything we give her, so all we got her for presents were a ball, a mylar balloon (which she took in the bathtub and tried to pop), and a pack of sidewalk chalk. I feel bad not getting her something nicer, but like I said, she would just wreck it anyhow. She's like that character Wreck-It Ralph, if anyone has seen that movie?

hobber happy BD for your little girl! Kids are happy for every little thing so don't worry we don't have to buy them all fancy toys!DD4 is also 3 years old ahh they are just so cute right?
It reminds me I read lot's of posts on IG and here too how ppl are ignoring baby boys and always comments on girls (especially when they are little) how cute and pretty they are. That is true for my girls but now that I have a baby boy the same thing is happening. Strangers are stopping me all the time in the store to say how cute is he what pretty eyes he got , a very handsome baby boy ect. So I don't see any difference at all?

Hobber, if there is one thing worse than cleaning up your own children's body fluids, it's cleaing up someone elses! I hope the rest of you avoid any more illness. Happy Birthday to your DD. It is so exciting at that age, I am sure she was thrilled with all the fun of the day. I think kids have too many toys these days anyway. I am sure I could throw out half of what my boys have and they wouldn't even notice. She sounds like such a lovable monster, reminds me of my DS2.

Flava, we won't be having anymore children either. I am very content with my bunch and love being able to give Sasha heaps of attention while her big brothers are at school.

When DS1 was a baby I was always getting told "Oh what a beautiful girl"! It didn't matter what he was dressed in, he was still mistaken for being a girl. He still has quite a pretty face! DS2 didn't get as many comments from memory, or maybe I didn't notice as I was more busy. Sasha gets plenty of attention and is quick to give everyone smiles. I just like how happy other people become when a baby smiles at them.

For Easter we don't do nothing because we are all alone. No family or friend around. So we paint eggs with the kids and then when the bunny comes he drops chocolate everywhere and the kids find it all on the morning. And they all get a small toy too .That's it.

Hey Ladies!

Hobbers I hope everything is ok, but it's good you're getting it checked out!

Flava, sorry to hear about DD3 being sick.

When I was actively trying to lose weight, nothing worked. I stopeed trying for now (it's too crazy to excerise with the kids around) and I've lost 5 lbs just from I guess just for not gorging out on chocolate and the like.

Out of nowhere, my mischevious son, DS2, who turns 2 next month, has become an angel. Of course now that I say that, he's going to return to a bad boy probably (*snickers*), but I can't believe how well-behaved he's been the last while. It's insanity!

Lillian's been cranky and then good. I found my digital camera (it was lost since Jan) and I'm going to start uploading more pics eventually, once I get more shots. Just in time for Easter too! I've been taking pics on my cell phone, but quality isn't as good as actual camera.

Just checking in!

Hi everyone! Just seeing how all you lovely ladies are doing!???
I am going very well. Oliver is eating solids and doing great with them , He has breakfast lunch and tea and 3 bottles a day... He does still wake at about 3 or 4 am for a bottle but that is not a big deal to me really considering how far we have come !! If everything keep going along like this I will most def try for a 3rd baby maybe when Ollie is about 2 I will see how things are then but the was time is flying by Oliver will be 2 before I know it! He sits by himself for about 10 seconds and then falls to one side so I think he should be sitting by himself in the next month or two. He is a very happy baby but when he cracks he CRACKS!! lol which I find great because at least he has alot of personality!
My brother and sister in law had their first baby the other day which is a girl and oh my what a beautiful baby girl and yes I am very jealous at least I can admit it ( not to the obviously) But all I can do is hope that one day I will get my girl. I cant complain about my boys they are so gorgeous and I love my family id just love to add a girl in there somewhere and I would prefer it to be next time around so i know I have her!!!! No harm in wishing hey!

Happy Easter everyone! My boys got a ridiculous amount of chocolate eggs and bunnies. Sasha has to wait until next year. The boys told her she would get hers in my milk!

Oh wow Pinkin, they are just stunning!! You are sounding so much happier, it is great that things are coming together for you. It is exciting that you are considering baby #3 again. I wondered if the itching would deter you. Hopefully the medications keep improving also between now and then, or even better, maybe you won't get it next pregnancy!

Flava, I seem to lose weight when I stop BF too (in the past). And I think it coincides with me having more time for myself, exercising more and not being as hungry as I am when I am BFing.

Auroara, hooray for DS2. FX this is a turning point!

Hobber, I get that heart beat thing too. For me, it seems to be related to when I get dehydrated and I think my blood pressure drops, but as AS said, it is worth getting looked at as there are so many causes.

My heart played up when I was BFing DS2 but has been a lot better this time around. My body did not handle the sleep deprivation well and the stress of 2 kids under 2 I imagine. No issues this time around with my once a night feeder (or none at all sometimes). Sasha got a cough a week or so ago (DH brought it back after working away I think) and although she doesn't act sick she has a very hoarse voice. She makes more of a hoarse squeak when she grizzles. She is very impressed with herself at the moment as she is learning to blow raspberries and pokes her tongue out all the time.

Still trying to do things to our house to get it the way we want it. Outdoor setting arrived last week. New tv mounted on the wall and getting a granite surface on the balcony BBQ area in a couple of days. The main thing I can't wait for is to have some more cabinet work done for the kid's toy storage downstairs and in the pantry upstairs, but a few more weeks until that is done. And of course the whole place needs a good tidy as always! I need to go through and declutter but finding the time is tricky.

pinkin- your boys a re so sweet! How old is Oliver ? he is very cute! Is that a car seat he is sitting in?
Congrats to your brother ! Im sure his baby girl is not prettier the Oliver!

Benjamin is still spitting up a lot a the doc said again to add rice cereal in his bottle.it may or may not help. Well again Im not doing it. Im not even going to feed him that ever lol (only she don't know that yet I tell her later) She also said we can start feeding solid food (start with rice cereal of course ) but I think I wait more. And will start with fruit and veggie one day . Not sure when.

How did everyone else started??

Still teething but no teeth yet. It's making me crazy! Im happy there is no teeth but he is drooling and not feeling good and chewing on his hand all the time. (don't want to chew on anything else and hate cold stuff!) And want to be held all the time of course. I wish I can put him down and he looks around and play alone just for a little , but no.I never had a laid back baby . Maybe it get's better once the teeth is out...but again they are coming all the time after the first lol
Good thing is he still sleep at night!

peony-your house sound lovely! I also could use more cabinet place for sure! Hope Sasha get better soon! That cough sounds scary.

Pinkin, your boys are gorgeous! How is Oliver's reflux? It's nice to hear that you are considering another baby, and hopefully you will have an easier pregnancy than you did with Oliver!

Peony, Sawyer figured out his tongue and raspberry blowing recently too. Funny, isn't it? Good luck with the decluttering--I need to do that so badly too! My house is a wreck!

Auroara, you are so lucky that your DS2 is getting easier! I wish my DD2 would. She seems to be getting worse in some ways!

Flava, I haven't started Sawyer on solids at all. He will be 6 months tomorrow, but I haven't even thought about it. He spits up all the time, tons, but I don't know if cereal would help?

I started Oliver on solids at about 4 1/2 months he has been going really well with it. He has wheatbix in the morning for breakfast , fruit for lunch and vegtables for tea.. Finding he sleeps alot better aswell because he is such a big boy he is always hungry I have also noticed his reflux is so much better he is no longer on Losec since he has been eating solids.

flava. Oliver will be 6 month in 6 days cant believe how fast it is going!

That has gone so fast Pinkin and Hobber. But what a gorgeous age.

Mocha talked on here ages ago about "baby-led weaning", which really interested me. My boys hated being spoon fed and it is about the baby feeding themselves finger food when they are ready. So I bought the book and plan to try that style out this time. Sasha is such a relaxed baby that I think it will suit her. She isn't looking remotely interested in food yet, so I imagine it will be around the 6 month mark before she is eating with us. What a relief that Oliver's reflux has settled now Pinkin. It sounds like you are doing exactly what he needs to be a happy boy. At the end of the day Flava, I would do whatever works for you and Benjamin. You know him better than anyone else.

Flava
April 3rd, 2013, 08:23 AM
pinkin-my baby is 4 1/2 months now and hungry a lot lol. The thing is I just don't want to add rice cereal in his bottle just because it maybe helps .He also has reflux and the doc said it can go on up to 9 months. I hate it.
He burp on us all the time and when he turns on his tummy he burps on everything else .And he always turns on his tummy...
Ummm what is tea? Like he drinks tea or is that food time at night? (like my DD4 says lol) we say dinner here. Or some ppl say supper too.
Oh Benjamin drinks chamomile tea sometimes. The doc said he don't need any drinks but i give him sometimes between feedings when he looks thirsty.

peony-I have no clue about baby-led weaning. So if babys start on finger food right away then how do they know to chew it swallow ect. if they did not eat pureed food or anything else before? It's interesting.
You right Im sure we know our babys better then the doc. I know Benjamin is really interested in our food he is watching us eat and gets all excited smacking his lips kicking hitting , yelling for it ect. I guess it's just me who want's to wait not him lol.

I started Ollie on the baby gel but he didnt have much of that. i then had him try steamed pumpkin and I puree it up once it is cooked. So pretty much the pumpkin in what he started off with both of my boys I have started with pumpkin mostly because they were both a bit constipated but since eating Oliver is fine . He has a fair few different vegtables now at Dinner time but he has them individual but I mix them with mashed potato... So Broccoli and mashed potato... beans with mashed potato... pumpkin with mashed potato.... carrot with mashed potato...So he has only one each night. last night he had beans with the mashed potato it was pureed up nice and smooth. I add the potato to fill them up a bit as my boys are big eaters. I started Oliver at 4 1/2 months

Pinkin - your boys are gorgeous!

Sadie is now 6 1/2 months, and we've been doing solids for about a week and a half. We're doing baby led weaning, and it's going really well. What I love most about it is how much easier it is - instead of spoon-feeding the baby while my dinner gets cold, she feeds herself while the family all eats together. So far she's had banana, avocado, toast sticks, carrots, green beans, broccoli, hummus (I spread it on snack bread), hard boiled egg yolk, mashed potatoes, squash, and turkey stuffing. Basically, she eats portions of whatever the rest of the family is eating. She still nurses a lot and that is still her main food source, but she eats something with us for each of our three meals. Check out http://www.babyledweaning.com/ if you want to learn more about BLW.

That sounds great Mocha. What a great range of foods she is trying. It gives me hope for when Sasha starts in a couple of months or whenever she is ready.

Happy Birthday Auroara! Have a fabulous day with your gorgeous family.

DS2 has tonsillitis at the moment. It only slows him down briefly when his fever was super high. Now that he is on antibiotics he has been begging to go back to school!

I got a Thermomix the other day as an early 10 year wedding anniversary present. So far everything I have tried (and I've used it heaps) has been a huge success. I like being able to throw things in and walk away and do things with the kids and then 10-20mins later dinner is ready! Sure beats standing at the stove with a baby in my arms.

mocha- I checked out this baby led it's so not for us .Or not for me lol Not because it's not a good thing or anything like that it's just I can't stand messy eating it's makes me crazy! So I feed the baby until he is ready to hold he spoon then we hold it together and he learns how to eat with it. Until then he eat alone finger food what don't make any mess like crackers , fruit ect. It's just how I do it.

peony- just what do you cook in this thermomix? have some recipes? Sorry about your DS2 hope he is all better now!

Thanks Flava. DS2 is all good now. Last week was horrible as DS1 got sick with vomiting, fevers and tummy pains. Luckily Sasha stayed healthy throughout but I was exhausted! I've always said kids are hard enough work when they are healthy, I hate it when they get sick.

I have made all sorts of things...risotto, soup, butter chicken, dough for bread rolls, dips, Anzac biscuits, smoothies, etc. It is like a food processor but has inbuilt scales and cooks as well. It is good if you want to make things from scratch as I could grind my own flour in it from buckwheat kernels, make my own butter and yoghurt, grind up spices, stuff like that. I am going to make my own pizza dough from now on as it is so quick and easy. The machines are very expensive but I got mine as a 10 year anniversary present (instead of diamonds!) I decided it was much more practical.

Hi guys! My birthday went well...we had a lot of fun, and hubby got me a cannoli cake and it was yum yum yummy! Lillian's doing good, she's still a tad cranky at times, but she smiles easily enough. Think she just wants things her way or the highway, heh. DS2 has reverted back into a complete mess...now he's crib hopping and walking out of the door, or waking Lily up (they share a room) and it's really disturbing everything. My oldest son is scared of having his bedroom door closed and if we don't catch DS2 in his crib hopping action, he goes into DS1's room and starts pulling on him, tugging his ears, nose, etc, and DS1 needs his sleep (he's in school.) Any suggestions for my wild man?

Here are some new pics.

That must be so funny Hobber. I hope you are finding time to take some photos! I keep realising I barely take any. DS1 has soooo many of him!!

Auroara, what gorgeous photos. I can even see 2 little teeth! Sasha is about to cut her bottom two teeth. They are right under the surface so I wouldn't be surprised if it is this week. I only knew because I looked in her mouth. She hasn't been grizzling about it...or if she has, I haven't noticed!

I wish I had some suggestions for your DS2 getting out of bed and causing havoc with everyone. They usually do it for attention so I guess putting him straight back to bed as soon as possible, but with no interaction (no talking, ignore any requests he makes unless something is genuinely wrong)? I am pretty strict on my boys and they don't play up. I like to think I am firm but fair. He will grow out of it eventually. It is just so hard while it is happening.
We bought the boys a clock that you can set to 'wake up'/ alarm at a suitable time and they weren't allowed out until then (when they were waking up and getting out of bed too early to play). It is a monkey that wakes up and plays jungle music.

Hobber, I LOVE your avatar! It's such a cute pic, and he's so big, snuggly looking and with such light blonde hair..what a cutie!!!

DS2 persists in getting into trouble. The night before his bday party everytime I cleaned up something, he went out of his way to mess it up again! I was getting seriously frustrated...so much so that I put him in high chair with some toys and he was okay with that for a while, but then he hopped out his crib again and pulled out a ton of clothing from the drawers and the closet, so the morning of the party I had to put together their room again. And it made me feel even worst that I was so upset with him and it was HIS party that day!! I didn't have time this morning to upload more than one photo from the party (and it's not from my camera, but my cousin took it and emailed it to me) so here is a pic of Lily during DS2's bday party. I'll be sure to post a few pics later tonight or tomorrow of my handsome boys, and the mischievous bday boy. is bday isn't until April 29th, it's just that my hubby and I have plans this coming weekend so the party had to be this weekend. And I'm so upset too that my mom didn't come to the party even though she said she would. She blamed me for not verifying on Fri that I wanted her to come, I told her that I was a little busy getting ready party and dealing with 3 kids. So whatever. Our relationship is just getting worse, and I don't know why I keep getting hurt over it--I just turned 35, why do I still need my mom's approval or something? GAH!

Peony, that is good advice. The next time I put him in the crib, I'll just do it without talking to him so he doesn't get anything from it. I guess the old adage "the squeaky wheel gets the oil" is very true with him; I think he misbehaves just to get our attention. Though, he is so loving with Lily, I don't think he's jealous of her per se, but I guess more jealous if we spend time/attention on her.

Without further ado, here's Lily during the party:

She is just beautiful Auroara!
Had to jump on and share that Sasha now has 2 bottom teeth! The boys didn't get their first until they were 10 months and she is just 5 months. So different. She is a little grizzly but still fine really. It is just that normally she barely cries so I can tell a difference. And one big dirty nappy this morning. I can't complain. Must take some more gummy smile photos as they will all have little teeth in them soon!

PeonyPrincess
May 4th, 2013, 03:41 AM
Ok, so now I can complain! Sasha started biting me when BF. I told her off and she burst into tears. Anyway, this happened over a few days but then yesterday morning she started totally refusing the breast at all. She literally went 12 hours with nothing. I had to go and buy a pump yesterday evening and express and even then she only drank 100mls. I was able to do a dream feed before I went to bed last night and she drank 1 breast while she was asleep. I think I must have scared her off. Either that or her gums are bothering her more than I thought. Or perhaps my milk has changed taste. It is supposed to be very salty just before your period comes back. I know this happened with DS1, but he was 11 months, not 5.5 months. I want my easy going baby back!
How is everyone else going? You no doubt have some little movers on your hands these days and can't take your eyes off them to get on the computer!

Hey Peony!
Oliver is 7 months on the 9th how time goes hey!!....
He is eating well still has 4 bottles a day.. He has 1 tooth and is not crawling but lifts his bum up and does try to slide along to get to places. He is a good baby but a real mummies boy! And when he cries he is so LOUD!!! He is very cute tho and sort of says mum but that's about it so far! How old is sasha now? I cant believe Ollie is 7 months old its just crazy!!!

Hi everyone! Peony, sorry you are getting bitten. Sawyer bites me and pulls on my nipple at the same time--ouch! No teeth yet, but if he tries once his teeth are in, I'll be in serious pain! Hopefully Sasha will stop soon, and stop her breastfeeding strike.

Pinkin, Sawyer is 7 months too! I can't believe how quickly the time is flying by. He isn't movig yet, just content to sit and play.

Hi Pinkin and Hobber. 7 months! Jeepers, where did that go?!
I bet they are keeping you busy but giving you lots of smiles, coos and yells!
Sasha will be 6 months old in 1 week. She is back to breastfeeding normally thank goodness. By Saturday night it was obvious she was sick with a cough and hoarse voice. I now think that she must have had a very sore throat last week to suddenly not drink anything for 12 hours. This is the second time she has had laryngitis, if babies can even have that. I have to turn the baby monitor up loud at night in case she tries to cry as it is so hard to hear her. Speaking of bed, I really need to head there. Night night.

Lily is 8 months, and she's crawling now, but prefers to "slither" along the floor, it's kind of funny looking. She likes to get all fours and just look around, and then she'll get back down to drag her lower body along. She's in the whole "fine tooth comb" mode with the carpet and with the two boys it's a struggle to keep it super clean. She still loves her big bro more than anything (DS2, DS1 doesn't really pay her any mind.)

Love hearing the updates on all the beautiful babies!! I can't believe in 4 months Lily will be a year old...where did it go??

PeonyPrincess

Auroara, she is getting so big! Crawling now, I bet that keeps you (or your hubby!) busy. I need to get organised before Sasha starts moving! We spend most of the time on the top floor of our house and the stairs heading down will need to be dealt with. Thinking I'll need a gate and probably a play pen would be a good idea.
It is so rotten when they are sick hey Hobber. Sasha has a snotty nose now, but is happy enough.

Hey ladies! Im sorry for the sick babys:( I know Im very lucky Benjamin never been sick yet and he got 4 big sisters they where all sick more then once ! I sure hope he is not going to be sick for a long time.
He is 6 months this week and got his shots again .Good thing is next shots are only at 1 year!
Not much to update here. He still want's me to hold him all day long and do not play much alone at all. he just cry cry cry to be picked up , even if he can see me. Nothing helps or works . It is very hard on my back and to do all the work. Im kinda hoping once he start moving maybe it will be easier. But the doc said no lol.
Anyway he can turn and roll if he want's to but most of the time only turns on his tummy and cry till we turn him back even though he can if he want.:suprise: He can also sit good but not alone yet and like to stand up and stay like that looking around and we are holding him.
Oh yeah still not eating solid he just don't want to! All my girls eat earlier then him. He hates most everything I try ! And if he eat a tiny bit he spits it up just like the formula. The doc said to add that cereal in the bottle finally (because I still never tried it) and if he spits up take him back to check if he got a more serious problem. well I hope not!!
No teeth yet! But he is teething for over 2 months now...making me crazy . I like that there is no teeth but wish there would be no teething either. I feel like time is crawling slow...of course when we are looking back it was flying by !
So that's about it for us.

Hi ladies! Sorry it's been so long since I checked in. Sadie will be 8 months tomorrow - I can't believe it! She's becoming quite mobile, though she isn't technically crawling yet. She sort of slithers or sometimes moves like an inchworm to get where she wants. She's quick - especially if she's trying to get to something she's not supposed to have - like the boys' Lego - so I really have to keep an eye on her. She really wants to crawl properly and spends a lot of her time rocking on her hands and knees, trying to figure out how to do it. I miss the days of her sitting happily in one spot playing with toys!

Baby will be 7 months this week and FINALLY looks like his first teeth is almost out ! he was teething forever poor thing!
Also he eats a little food now .Loves apple (haha no wonder) banana and veggies too. But can't change out a bottle feeding to food yet.
Still not sitting up alone , he do sit for a short time but have to be there because he just fall and that's it . Basically all he dose is turn both ways but mostly on the bed or sofa. He do not like to turn from tummy to back on the floor. I guess because he did bump his mead a couple time and he is scared. so really he do the same things for like 3 months now.
Im really waiting for something new! Oh but he "talks" a lot and make funny faces lol

Hi everyone!

Flava - I'm definitely done having babies too. For me, 4 is the perfect number. I grew up in a family of 4 kids too, so it just seems right to me. Also, I'm turning 39 this year, so I feel like it's time to close the babymaking shop :).

Sadie's doing well. She'll be 9 months in just over a week. She now does a combination army-crawl and classic crawl and moves around fast. She's constantly getting into the boys' Lego and other small stuff, so she keeps me in my toes. She also pulled herself up to a standing position in the crib for the first time last week. Time to lower the mattress!

She eats everything we eat, with the exception of choking hazards like nuts and hard uncooked vegetables. I haven't had a doctors appt for a while - we go next week - but I think she's 17-18 lbs now. She has such adorable, chubby little legs!

Oliver is going really well... He is 8 months old and eating very well.. Has been sick with a chest and ear infection he has actually been sick for over a month and on medication I am wondering if him being sick id due to him teething???? He has 2 teeth at the bottom I cant remember do they usually get the top two next? He sleeps well 6.30pm until 6.30 am I think that's a good effort! Also has 2 sleeps through the day. Took me a long time and a lot of work to get him into a routine but going great now. I would love to have more but don't know if I can cope with that liver thing again just don't know what to do and don't want to regret not having more

Hey everyone!
Mocha, Sadie is adorable! And Pinkin, those boys are gorgeous! Flava, will you post more pics of Benjamin?

Sawyer is almost crawling. He gets on his hands and knees and rocks, but that's all. he pushes himself backwards while laying on his tummy and can get around like that some as well.

He's eating his cereal and some basic purees just fine, but doesn't do well with fruit--it gives him a diaper rash when he poops it out. Has anyone ever had that happen with a baby? Is fruit too acidic or what?

Here he is11739

A recent photo. Though no smiles which is unusual. She is a big girl. Bigger than her brothers were! 8.5kg at 7 months. No wonder my shoulders and back ache at times!

Ladies I just wanted to say that your babies are BEAUTIFUL!!! I remember when you had just had them, and you put their newborn pics up. I just had my little guy 8 weeks ago. I was newly pregnant when you were delivering. I can't believe how big they all are. Congrats again!!!

I never know a baby who wasn't bothered by teething ! Must be nice! It hurts all my children
Benjamin is still only like to turn on the bed , almost never do it on the floor. He can sit alone but just fall like a bag of potato so have to be there or put pillows around him. And can't sit up alone so only sit when I sit him up. He is trying to pull his knees up for a while now I wonder when is he going to master it lol.
So that's it for us looks like he is not in a hurry with anything .
Oh yeah and now he is up every night once and sometimes don't want to go back to sleep. he use to sleep all night long!:tissue: I know he is teething but so wish he go back to sleep trough the night .It is hard enough all day .Still have to hold him a lot he does not like to be put down !

I don't have many Pinkin. More oobi I'd say. But I wanted something red. Was sick of pink! And these red pants have bum ruffles so I couldn't resist!
So nice to hear from you ThreeMen. Congratulations on your new baby! And you're still in that gorgeous newborn stage. Just lovely. And yes it sure goes sooo fast!

Peony, Sasha is so cute! I love her chubby cheeks!

threemen, congrats on your little one!!

Flava, I hope Benjamin starts sleeping better for you. It is rough when you are up all night!

Sawyer is crawling now. He has gotten pretty good in the last few days. He has a bruise on one knee--is that normal? I don't remember my other kids getting them, but that doesn't mean they didn't. He's been crawling with shorts on or just a onesie, because it is HOT.

Flava
July 3rd, 2013, 08:32 AM
hobber-grats for crawling ! It is easier now? Or not? DD4 learned crawling so she can crawl to me to pick her up lol
I think the bruise is normal if you have hard floor he could have bump his knee. I remember when we had carpet they had red spots on the knee from pulling it on it.

Things are the same here. He eats more food now and pushing his bottom in the air lol so maybe soon I see something new.

Hey everybody.... sure is quiet around here! Is everyone as busy as we are this summer? What are you all up to? How are the babies?

We are trying to get our house ready to sell, which is a pain in the butt. I have been struggling to clean, get rid of stuff, etc. What a chore!

Sawyer is almost 10 months.... I can't believe it. He's growing so fast! He crawls pretty quickly now and pulls himself up on anything he can. He is also starting to be a little bit of a rascal--he does things he knows he shouldn't, and when I scold him, he laughs!! He is still so cute, I can't really get mad at him. :)

Lillian's been crawling, she's cruising still, not walking yet, though her birthday is less than a month away. DS2 has been driving us crazy as always, DS1 starts kindergarten in the fall and starts flag football practice tomorrow, so that's all exciting.

In early July, I had massive surgery to remove three cancerous tumors from my liver. So, I've been recovering from surgery (I have a 13 inch incision along my right abs, a struggle to recover from) and I've been battling secondary complications that have kept me out of work (currently a nasty back spasm on the right side, any suggestions for getting rid of it?) and a problem with my fever (it ping pongs between 97 to 99, it was worse, it was 101-102 for like a week until I started "deep breathing" apparently everything in my body had "stiffened up")

So hubby has pretty much taken over a lot of the hard care for the kids since I'm trying to manage my pain/aches (without medication, or as little as possible) and trying to fit in enough water/breathing excersies (I have a goal I have to meet for the hour...it's time-consuming, trust me.)

It's been really hard. I'm only 35, and this is my second venture down with cancer. I'm a bit concerned where this road is taking me, but I'm trying hard to stay positive (harder than it would seem) and I'm just trying to enjoy my kids, but the back pain is insane.

Sorry for the rant, just knew I hadn't posted on here in a while. I hope everyone else and their kids are doing great :)

hey ladies! I have to say I use to log on but saw that no1 else post anything and so I kinda stayed away and now I even forget to check on here.
hobber -I Sawyer must be so cute doing that lololol Please post a pic ! I have no1 on FB from this group so I don't see your babies.

aurora-omg that is so sad! I really really hope you will be all better very soon and it will never come back! (((hugs)))

Benjamin is fine he STILL want to be held a lot. That is his favorite thing I guess. He STILL only turn on his back on the bed not doing it on the floor because he bump his head. (no clue why can't he learn to be careful?) He STILL not sitting up alone if I sit him up he fall after a wile and that's it. So have to be there with him or not sit him up. BUT finally he is scooting on his tummy all over the house ! So I can put him down and he is exploring for a short time. Not pulling his legs up yet so not sure when he gonna crawl around finally.(or if he will) he reach up sometimes so I guess he will pool himself up 1 day. Im just kinda worried how is he going to balance standing if he is not doing that with the sitting?
He is going to be 9 months next week ! I ask the doc what she thinks on the checkup. Im thinking he is just doing things slower then the girls . I was really thinking he will be walking by 1 but now I don't see it. So that's it for us.
Some1 else turn to post lol!

Auroara! Whoa--I'm so sorry you are dealing with that!!! That's scary and awful. What was your other cancer? Do they have any ideas what caused it at your age?

I hope you are doing okay with treatment, and that your back pain eases up soon. Try to relax and enjoy your family, and if there is anything I can do, let me know!!

Hobbers, it was melanoma in my eye the first time (six years) and it was the same thing in my liver--three spots of melanoma that they surgically removed from my liver. I hope the melanoma stays away for good--and no idea why I got it so young (I was 29 the first time) just that I have very pale skin and have blue eyes--I'm a high risk for skin cancer, apparently.

I'd already FB friends with some of the ladies from here and I love seeing updated pics of the kids. If you want to FB friend me, Hobbers and Flava, I will PM you with my name. I don't have strict account settings on FB. Good to hear from you ladies!

Hey everyone. Crazy to think it was a year ago that these babies were being born. Where on earth did that time go?! Sasha is 10 months. 8 teeth (and 2 more ready to pop through), cruising around the furniture, climbs our 16 stairs with ease (not back down just yet), clapping and all that cute stuff. I have to get on and organise her 1st party. Thought my DH was going to be overseas for it but now he's not so time to plan it I think.
Your double party sounds like fun Pinkin. Don't forget to take lots of photos.

Flava, I got his dragon shoes on ebay. They are Robeez, and are leather, more like a moccasin than a shoe. He isn't walking yet, but I got him shoes because it was starting to cool off here. Believe it or not, the day after I took that picture, it snowed 15 inches!

Snow?? What? omg I didn't think it could be snowing somewhere else already! Hard to imagine when is so hot here! Im still waiting to go outside .If it finally would cool off a little so we can go for walks and play outside again that would be awesome.
Oh this shoes are awesome!! I had no clue about it. For sure I must get one but on ebay I only find 0-6 months and that's small for Benjamin.(but find it somewhere else) Im always worried the shoe is not comfortable and they can't tell me but this is so soft Im sure it will be great. Plus I saved the first shoe for all of them so must get a dragon one for him lol.
Don't like to order clothes or shoes online because I love to try in on but find a sizing chart for this so I will measure his feet when he wakes up. Anyway thanks for telling me!
