Yes it sways boy as it increases testosterone (do remember it is a sway though not all women with pcos will have boys or only boys, you just need to counteract the effects of it) - if its something you have their are lots of threads on here about ttc pink with pcos, also i'd recommend one of Atomics plans as she knows a lot about pcos and she'd design it specifically to fit you.

I have PCOS and it does sway boy. However often the medication that people take to fall pregnant that have extreme pcos sways pink. I've never been on medication for it and have had incredible success with lots of exercise, and healthy eating and weight loss to assist me in getting pregnant naturally with pcos. I have numerous friends that have naturally controlled pcos, like me that have lots of boys. And equally numerous friends who have girls who had to go on medication to make then ovulate and stay pregnant.

Does this mean without meds that I will most likely have a third boy even with swaying?

I went to a HT doctor for a consultation and he did a quick ultrasound and told me I have polycystic ovaries. Since then, I have decided to do swaying instead of HT, so I went to my OBGYN to see if I could get a work up regarding the PCOS. My OBGYN told me that since I have conceived two boys naturally with no problems and since I am very thin he didn't feel like he needed to do anything regarding the PCOS. I didn't bring up the gender swaying business with him. So my question is, do you think I need to go back and ask for this blood work in order to try and get medication for PCOS, so that I am not unintentionally swaying blue?

No, it doesn't mean that necessarily, but the meds may help quite a lot. This is esp. true if you're thin to begin with and are not going to see dramatic changes in hormone levels from diet/weight loss. As I'm sure you already know, some people with PCOS are heavyset and can improve significantly by losing weight. Since that doesn't seem to be your situation, I would want the Clomid in my corner.

My feelings on Clomid (particularly for people with PCOS) are that if you can get the Clomid, take it.

Thanks Atomic! I've got a really slim (but not underweight) build but could still afford to lose 7-10lb without getting into an unhealthy BMI.
I would use the clomid again. I found when I took it at night time I didn't have the symptoms a lot of women get on it! So that's my top tip for clomid users! No hot flashes in the day then xx

I have not seen a women with PC ovaries going HT for a boy. There are many more women trying to have a DD in HT so that may not be an accurate picture but it is interesting to me!

Low carb is what they try to do to counteract the symptoms. PC Ovaries should't stop you from going HT. You just need to work with a RE that is familiar with that and knows how to stim you. 1/3 seem to have those types of ovaries if I had to guess.

Hmmm...that is interesting and somewhat discouraging for me. I have an appt again at OB Jan 8th and I am going to request he does the bloodwork and hope that I can get Clomid but who knows if that will happen.
When I went for the HT consult he didn't tell me because I have PCovaries that I couldn't do HT--quite the contrary actually--he said that since I have PCovaries I make lots of eggs and his exact words were "you WILL get pregnant". Who really knows though, as I'm sure he mainly just wants my money. I went to Dr. Fakih at IVF Michigan and he didn't have the best bed side manner, and I couldn't really ask too many questions. I decided against IVF at the time because my husband and I have a hard time with the extra embryos and what happens to them. I am starting to lean more towards HT again though since all this PC ovaries business and most likely conceiving another boy. In doing some research on the boards I'm wondering if I should try Dr Potter at HRC. Seems like he uses the most up-to-date procedures and has the best outcomes and better bedside manner! Traveling is a downside though.
I'm feeling rather lost as I have been swaying for 2.5 months and put so much effort into that but feel like it is going to be pointless. I want to go HT but I feel lost about that, since I haven't done tons of research in that area.

I think it is all about the guarantee. Not everyone needs it. If you are okay with swaying and taking your chances, sway your heart out and hopefully you know you've done all you can that way.

I understand about the extra embryos. Very difficult indeed. Dr Potter just does a lot of GS. He does see a lot of PCOS because he sees a lot of patients. It is much easier IMO to stay close to home but only if you feel good about your local RE.

A lot of things have to go into the decision - aside from how you feel about the leftover embryos, there's also your age, the money factor, and the heartbreak factor to take into account. HT works less well the older you are, it's expensive and you have to pay whether you end up with a baby or not, and it's a grueling process for a lot of people. It all comes down to comparing the worst case scenarios - what feels worse to you - walking away with no money and no baby, or walking away with an opposite.

Thanks Atomic and Nuthingbutpink, I think that my husband and I have come up with a plan. I think we will sway for 3 months (already did one--and made second months attempt yesterday) and if I become pregnant in that time, great. I will be ok whatever gender (I think) because I am giving it my all. And then if we are not pregnant by March we will plan to go HT around June. I don't want to drag the TTC time-frame on too long as I am getting older (35 in March) and I can't be on the diet too too long as I am a couple pounds away from being underweight and the older I get for HT the lower my chances of getting pregnant. In the meantime, while I'm still swaying, I will go to my OB next week and see if he'll bloodtest me to see if he'll prescribe me Clomid. Does that sound like an ok plan? If I'm already pregnant this month that would just take all the guess work out of it--as I wouldn't have to decide--as it would be a done deal!

I got a BFN on 10dpo....so pretty sure I'm out this month, but....I got the Clomid!! I am going to take 50 mg day 5-9. My doc is going to monitor me while on it this next moth. I'm thinking of doing FR (7-10 days) and thru O. Obviously stopping V and SP supps, but taking folic and baby aspirin every three days. I think I'll keep DH on supps this month but will then probably drop everything if I don't get preggo first month. Any advice on this from Clomid users? Thx!
