Spermicide and FR through O?

I can't believe I'm actually on the road to my first attempt! I just wanted to run one quick thing by you...

My plan is to use spermicide every afternoon and BD every night through O (I'm on CD 7 and this is what we've done thus far). I'll also be using a full applicator of RePhresh every three days. I think I was reading somewhere that you preferred spermicidal condoms with FR (BDing)? Is there a reason to use a condom over just the spermicide (VCF foam)?

Let me know if you think this is a good plan or if I need to switch it up. This is also my first month off BC and my husband has been taking his Licorice Root everyday since AF. I've been debating using an antiH once I get OPK+. I hope I'm not doing too much, but we conceived so easily with our two son's I'm convinced my husband's sperm count is through the roof!

No, I have no preference. Not enough people have used the method for me to know for sure which is best.

I would prob. drop the RepHresh, I think both leaves very little odds of conception and I've never tested the two together so not sure what happens if both are in the mix. Getting pg the first month off BC can sway pink, so I hate to see you do TOO much - better to be in it at least with a shot to capitalize on the BC factor.

I agree i think using spermicide alone you will have a hard time getting pg.....i would personally drop the spermicide and just use rephresh.

doesn't BC raise estrogen, so if you are more likely to get a girl off BC, wouldn't high estrogen sway girl???

Ive dropped using RePhresh every three days. The way I am using spermicide is daily...but very early in the day. Like 12 hours prior to DTD. So it's not effective anymore...I'm using the method outlined in one of Atomic's posts about spermicide residue perhaps swaying pink. My husbands sperm count is very high so we're trying to reduce it as much as possible, but still get pg. I keep going back and forth between thinking we're doing too much (LIcorice Root, BD every day) and thinking its not enough! I'm still waiting for my opk+ so we'll see :)

Of course it depends on which type you are on

BCP mess up the cervical crypts that make EWCM and dry it up, so for that reason they sway pink regardless of what they do to hormone levels.

I don't feel like we have enough info on estrogen to really know if/how it sways just yet.

I think the spermicide is a great and undiscovered tactic and I'd actually like to see more people give it a try. :agree: may turn out to be better than RepHresh.

I have been using spermicide with my attempts for the past two months.... Hopefully it does the trick :)

For those using the spermicide, are you using decreased amounts or using it at inappropriate times decreasing its effectiveness or what? Just wondering!

I used decreased amount like a quarter of the syringe thing and I just got my Bfp today!

I used a full applicator of VCF Foam every afternoon (since the end of AF) and then BD every night about 10-12 hours later once the effectiveness had worn off, but some residue remaining. Once I got the positive OPK I didn't use any on that day or the following couple days we were DTD. I'll keep everyone posted on the results here in a couple weeks!

If you're allergic to it, don't use it. We don't know what kind of swaying effect it would have (your body may make a lot of mucus trying to wash the allergen away.)
