I had two transvagional ultrasounds. One at 5 weeks 5 days and one at 6 weeks (yes, 2 days apart).

The first one showed two gestational sacs of the same size. Only 1 had something in it, and it was on the left side (my left while looking at it, like, if I was driving and turned left, that side). (I did think I saw something on the other sac, and it was on the other side, but I guess I was wrong).

The second ultrasound, however, showed the exact opposite--all the way to the right side (and, sadly, the second sac was much smaller by this point, just two days later :( They think I lost 1 twin, but I'm hoping it was just the angel or something).

anyway, no one said anything about where the placenta was... and you can't guess on where the baby was, right? Besides that, the "sides" changed. Why is that?

Hello! Sometimes the tech will flip the screen, sometimes they won't. That's why Ramzi theory is so tricky unless you know exactly what you're looking at. So they may have flipped the image the first or 2nd scan. GL with your pregnancy and congrats!

Ugh! I wish there was a way for me to know if they'd flipped it or not! Thanks, though :)

I had sharp cramps on my left side for the first 7 weeks, and only on my left side, but when I asked the ultrasound lady if the baby was on one side she said the baby was "right in the middle" (even though to me it looks very obviously to one side on both U/S).
