Mine says 750 mg where it says soy germ isoflavones concentrate. Then under that it says standardized to contain 3% isoflavones, 23 mg and 3% saponins, 23 mg. So does this mean each capsule is equivalent to 23 mgs? I'm a tad confused! So should I take 2-3?

Shoot I'm no help...but anxious to see if anyone has any advice. I just had a look at my bottle which says "soy isoflavone concentrate 150mg providing 40% total isoflavones 60mg". I've been taking 3 a day for the last 3 cycle days. I had just assumed you go with the total, but I could be wrong?

I'm thinking mine are each only 23 mgs so I probably need to take 4-5?

Yes, the recommendation is 100 - 200 mg, all at once (like not spread out during the day). I would say start with 5...

I took 200mg the 5 cycles I was on it. I had a couple of different brands but had to take 5-6 pills in order to get to the right dosage. I agree with Anchor, take 5-6.

Since that's so much higher than the typical dose you see sold, I think it's the 23 mg soy dose you should use. I would only take 2 personally - no more than that.

Really? I thought I read 100-200mgs so I took almost 200mgs. Hm...may have been on another site. Oops. :worry: Well, I can tell you that it was well tolerated- never had many side effects, just o'd a few days sooner and a little ovulation pain.

It's double the amount of Clomid - so 200 mg soy is equal to 100 mg Clomid. Most people don't need any more than 50 mg Clomid and some peopel even do 25, since soy is a lot less regulated and controlled than Clomid and could potentially be stronger than we expect,, I think it may be best for people to start off small and build from there rather than taking a huge dose and ending up with quintuplets LOL.

Plus, since I am not totally sure WTH is going on with that soy dose I think less is better in this case, just in case it is some wackily high doe.

I HATE the way they sell supps like that. Makes it all but impossible to know how much you're really getting. I'd still go ahead with it, just take 2 or 3 from here on in.

Okay ladies...I actually put in a call to NOW vitamins (who are the makers of the soy iso's I'm taking). After 3 call transfers and one call back (lol), this is what I was told. The front of the label of my supplements actually says 60 mg soy iso's, and the back label says:

Soy Isoflavone Extract (providing min. 40% total isoflavones (60 mg)) - 150 mg

Isoflavones are naturally occurring plant compounds that are particularly concentrated in soybeans. Genistein, daidzein and glycitein are the major isoflavones found in soybeans. NOW® Extra Strength Soy Isoflavones Vcaps® have been extracted through a proprietary process that results in the highest natural levels of Genistein - a quantum leap over most soy isoflavone products.

The lovely gentleman on the phone said that the extract is not 100% soy iso's, but the extract is from the soybean. So if you've been told to take soy iso's (I had no intention of telling him why I was taking them!), then you go by the total iso's, which are usually indicated on the front of the bottle.

you measure your dose by the isoflavone amount not soy content (in the case above its 60mg) so for a 180mg dose you would take 3, does that help
( now im confused lol)

Lol! Not really! I think I've got it.... I'm assuming mine is 3% of the total mgs...since mine say 750 mgs but it says something about 3%isoflavones, 23g....that would equal to 3% of 750. So...I guess I should be taking 4-5 then?

Does it say 23 mg total soy isoflavones? If yes then I would go with the higher dosage, whatever adds up to between 100 and 200mg. I am doing 180 mg total iso's...
