View Full Version : How do I keep from peeing out all my supps??

If we are supposed to be drinking so much green tea, lemon water, etc., how do we take our supplements at a time when they won't just get peed right out? With that much liquid coming in, I will be peeing all the time!!

I would read up on which ones might need fat to be digested/absorbed better. I hope someone has a better answer for you!

Plan your pills based on...
1. The ones that absorb better with meals or empty stomach.
2. Which pills work together to increase absorbtion.
3. Which ones are better first thing in the morning or late at nite.
Buy a pill container that has the different times of the day 2-5 slots per day. Sort your pills for the week and keep the list close so you can refill easier.

yep we are old people with pills boxes and nagging each other about them ;)

I found it really easy to add a pill or 2 to hubbies stash without him noticing, funny in the morning watching him down alll of them.

Might want to try a smaller 8oz drink while taking pills, water is best. And then wait about 2 hrs or a little less and then drink your other drinks, your will absorb about 90% in the 2hrs.

I know from my own issues that if you take pills with juice, soda, coffee (cold), or milk you are less likely to absorb most of them. Most drink are a body cleanser ment to flush your body faster and any vitamins and minerals in the way get flushed out as well. Water is less likely to interfer and this will help you to absorb them better.

Do not take all the pills at one time depending on the amount you are taking about 2-5 times a day is the best way to get over 90% of what you need.

Be careful what you eat... avoid foods that go thruogh you or can increase your digestion. AKA don't eat a mountian of fruit or beans. Eat cereal, oatmeal, or another grain that takes longer to digest.

How did you figure this all out? How do you know which to take with which?

If you browes online at the medical and naturalist sites they list which ones work best together... Like Calcium, Vitamin D, and Iron work together that is why milk contains vitamin D. Most people don't get enough of vita/min so a lot of food has been fortified.

Make list of the ones you are taking and just type in the vita/herb and save the info. You can make a little chart with an arrow showing which ones work together.

Also the foods you will be eating contain vita/min as well and you want to make sure you do not over do somethings... 1 cup od spinach contains a lot of calcium, vita D, and a few others. You will absorb vita/min better from food them from pills.

Guessing you are going for a boy??? if so then eating more foods over pill would be better.

It is normal to pee out some of your supplements. No worries, your body takes what it needs from them as they pass through. That is why with Folic in particular, it is good to take several doses spread out throughout the day.

I totally understand and I used to have the exact same problem which is why I did it this way. I would want to find one little thing and have to scroll through 17 pages of FAQ to find it! I'm glad it is helpful.
