I'm out... still very strange though. For at least 15 years, I have had 3 days of barely there brown spotting before the real AF bleeding shows up. This morning went to collect my pee cup to POAS and it was dark red. Wiped, and yup, dark red blood. So weird....
I knew something was up with my body this cycle, but I was hoping it was me being pg! Especially since I've been running a fever! Boo hiss...

But, at least now I can really focus on the LE diet, do it for a good 3 months, lose some more weight, s nd feel like I've really done everything in my control to have a DD :-)

See you guys in here in a few months, and I'll be stalking your tww's til then ;-)

Bummer, yamanote! What a great attitude you've got about it! You still would be due in October if you went this cycle, wouldn't you? I saw a post from atomic somewhere that said being really good on the diet for two or three weeks would be enough. Have you thought about one more try before holding out?

Thanks for your thoughts on my ovulation timing. I think last Saturday was my day. I am going to try to wait until Wednesday to test. We'll see!

Yah, I was calculating the dates, and considering I am now O-ing approx 3-4 days after AF, it does for sure give me time to squeeze in an October baby ;-P
So, I might active in here for one more cycle, then I'll take a break for a couple months if still no bfp :-)

yamanote
January 19th, 2013, 12:55 PM
Thanks :-) Gonna try once this next cycle, if I O super early again like I have been (then I'll still have an October baby!) Then I'll sit it out for a few cycles if no bfp.

I thought I was gonna be super bummed, but honestly I kind of feel like it's giving me more time to get my health all in order and be really clear about what I need to do/not do for my body. I'm even making up a whole big chart of do's and don'ts so I don't get confused about stuff (there's so much info, crimony!)

Congrats to aussiettc and 4Giffins!

Sorry yamanote, hopefully next month. Anchor, it's not over until AF comes!

I am 10 dpo, tested yesterday and got a BFN, tested this am and got a BFN and couldn't believe how un-pregnant I felt. No queasiness, no sore breasts, no dizziness. I went for a hard, hilly run before breakfast and still felt great and then at lunch time I sort of felt different, it's hard to explain but it was as though my centre of gravity had shifted. DH and I talked this am about how we'd try for 4 more cycles and then opt out as the age gap between a new baby and DD3 would be greater than we wanted but then he suddenly started talking about baby names at lunch (this is very UNLIKE my DH).

I went back and looked at the internet cheapie test and there was a ghost of a line that no non obsessed person could see so I POAS after a swim and got a faint but clear BFP on an FRER. Yay! I still have no real symptoms but i feel "different".

I'm going to hang around here though until AF doesn't come as my last two months I've had early chemicals so in the back of my mind I keep thinking it'll happen again.

GL to everyone testing.

Hi girls, I'm joining you as I'm in the 2ww now. I was expecting to O late because I took vitex this cycle, but I was pleasantly surprised when I O'd on time.

I'm either 1 or 2dpo. I don't know which, as I had a drink on CD15 which may have influenced my temp on CD16. I had a much shorter lh surge this cycle, and almost missed it. I had a nearly positive opk on CD14, then a just about positive one on CD15. I normally get a darker positive than that so I tested again a few hours later expecting it to be darker but it was negative. So the peak of my surge was either the evening of CD14 or the morning of CD15.
I had strong ovulation pains on my right on CD15, but on CD16 I had really strong pains on my left, so bad I had to lie down. So I haven't got a clue what's going on.
My temp was really high this morning, much higher than usual. The vitex seems to have really changed things.

Congratulations to the girls who have BFPs this month, I hope I get to join you soon! Good luck to everyone still waiting.

Yeah, I am 8 dpo and it feels like forever til day 10 or 11. I keep noticing little things like the fact that boobs actually are not sore, which the week before AF is unusual. They typically are sore to any touch by now, so I am hoping that is a good sign.

So excited to hear about the two new bfps! Hope to be joining you in a few days!

Hey TrueBlue. Well I had my smiley positive OPK at 11am on 15th Jan...so I am assuming O to be 16th Jan which makes me 6 DPO (same as you I think?!). Getting twinges and have really bad lower back ache but no other noticeable symptoms. I hate waiting!! What is the earliest we can test? Last month I only had an 11 day LP so I if AF is on her way it might be before I even get chance to test :( Fingers crossed - I am feel a bit down today so I think I'm being overly negative about everything!

Hey ltester and TrueBlue.....I rather stupidly did an OPK test today (heard they work pretty much the same as a HPT) and it was of course negative. I'm only 6DPO so not sure what the point was other than to stop myself wondering! I've slowed down on my HE diet a bit since O too, need to get back to it in case I get a BFN.

Good luck to you both, this 2ww is really no fun, I have become google crazy and am checking every symptom - it's difficult just to chill out! I've never had this before as was on the pill when I conceived dd and she was a (fabulous) suprise!

TB - I don't know much about temping as I have just been using my OPKs so not tried the BBT charting - I have my fingers crossed for you :fingers:

Against my better judgement, I did a hpt at 9 dpo this morning. After POAS, I took a quick glance and it was negative. In less than 30 seconds, I tossed it in my pocket and went to my desk for a few minutes.. about 10 minutes. When I looked at the test again, there was the faintest of faint lines. An evaporation line? I have a bunch of old tests in the box that I took last month (I know that is kind of crazy-- I don't like tossing them separately in fear my cleaning lady will find them -she knows too much about us as it is ;). Anyhow, the two other tests from the same pack had no additional line at all. Now, I really wish that I had not taken it this morning. This is making the wondering even worse!!

Ff has finally decided I ovulated, and on the day I thought I did (from the crippling o pain) so that's good. I'm 3dpo. Can't test til the end of the month. Fx for another 12 or more day luteal if I'm not pg. I don't want to go back to 10 day ones!

I really have high hopes for this month. Don't know how much longer I can do LE diet now. I'm so over it and almost at underweight BMI. Unfortunately I cheated on cd 20 (day after o) and a little on cd 21, so I REALLY hope I did o on cd19 at 4pm when I had the pains.

Pangea
January 21st, 2013, 05:15 PM
Good luck Violet! It sounds like the beginning of a bfp!

Good luck Amber, I hope af doesn't show and that the dollar store tests are positive.

Meeks I'm on the same DPO as you, I hope this is your month. That looks like a good big temp rise. Don't worry about cheating on the diet on one or two days, it's the overall decline in condition that sways, and if your BMI is nearly underweight now that should sway strongly.

Violet
January 21st, 2013, 06:13 PM
it's the overall decline in condition that sways. I'm sorry but that made me LOL! If that is the case, I'm sure I'm having a girl!! My overall condition is definitely declining at 39.

BTW, I tested again and got another faint line that could only be seen by someone looking at the stick less than 6 inches away. I'm a glass is half empty kind of girl. So, I'm not sold yet. I've been on the internet googling chemical pregnancies so until I see a real pink line I'm only going to share my most personal experiences POAS with everyone in cyberspace and not with anyone in real life.

As for me, I am looking on to early Feb. for our next attempt...CD 5 for me today. I will continue to check in here though. Seeing the BFP's is motivating as I pass the time until my next attempt. I made an appt. for Feb. 5th to go to my Dr. to discuss my short luteal phase.

Well, I've tested again 11 and 12 dpo and the line is definitely getting darker, I still have no real symptoms. I did have some old blood in some cm yesterday but nothing fresh and nothing since.

I'll try to post my progression line...

I'm feeling more optimisitic but after my last few chemicals I won't be happy till AF hasn't come and I've got symptoms.

Violet, test on an FRER! My internet test was pretty much a stark BFN on 10 dpo but positive on an FRER. The pic doesn't do it justice; it's got more colour in real life.

TB - I don't know much about temping as I have just been using my OPKs so not tried the BBT charting - I have my fingers crossed for you :fingers:
x

I haven't done any temp charting either, but if I don't have a bfp this cycle, I am going to try to learn a little more about it. I sure have not been sticking to the LE diet... It'll be a rude awakening to get back on it if I have to try again! It is amazing how long ten days can be....

Loving all these test lines and BFPs!!! Any update from Violet?

I am now 9DPO and am not allowed to test till 11DPO as DH has an interview that day and don't want to distract him... am very tempted to do a sneaky test on my own but it would ruin the moment of testing together on Thurs, so a long wait ahead argh!

What symptoms are people getting? I am tired, and have terrible gas! Sorry TMI! If I am not preggo how embarassing!

Are bleeding gums and/or mouth ulcers an early sign does anyone know?

Good luck Violet! It sounds like the beginning of a bfp!

Good luck Amber, I hope af doesn't show and that the dollar store tests are positive.

Meeks I'm on the same DPO as you, I hope this is your month. That looks like a good big temp rise. Don't worry about cheating on the diet on one or two days, it's the overall decline in condition that sways, and if your BMI is nearly underweight now that should sway strongly.

Well that's good because I just ate a whole slice of Brie cheese! Haha whoops.

Skipping breakfast in the 2ww and not snacking but not sticking to diet other than that, I can't afford to loose much and want to strengthen a bit in between attempts, without swaying boy or anything. I was super strict from cd 1 to 19 when I O'd and have 6 months of LE behind me so I'm not too worried. I just have those moments of "omg what if I ruined all that hard work".

I am more stressed this month than past months and don't know why.

Congrats to all getting their BFPs - massively encouraging! Only came into this post yesterday so bit behind on everyone's progress!

Averysmon - I'm not sure when I'll test, maybe this weekend? I reckon I'll end up getting AF before I end up testing (I got AF 11DPO last cycle), ever the pessimist! We'll be 11DPO Saturday...eek! When do you think you'll test? TrueBlue - when are you planning on testing?!

ltester - I am with you on the temp charts, going to try and understand this side of things a bit better next month as completley ignored it so far and just been using my digital OPKs!

Yesterday I had really bad lower back ache, a dull ache all day. I've had bad gas (like you Andi, hoping this is a BFP and not me lol!) and I've also had twinges and had lots of EWCM yesterday - but I really think I am just picking up on everything as I am acutely aware of my body at the moment thanks to my keeness to get pregnant! I just feel like normal today

Back aches, neck and overall body stiffness, vivid dreams, gas, and hungry (but that could be a result of the HE diet). With DD1 I got bfp at 10 dpo so I think I'll give it a shot on 11 dpo. Here's hoping AF stays away for all of you ladies testing soon! Baby dust!

Our attempts are done though as DH's work schedule is going to cause us to not be able to BD until after midnight on Wednesday night and being that I always have 28-29 day cycles (I'm on CD16) I think if we held off until then I would miss O, so we BD late last night.. here's hoping it worked but I highly doubt that.

I really struggled with the opk too. I kept waiting for it to be darker and never got it, and ultimately relied on my being so regular. I can't imagine trying to pinpoint it so accurately as to do O+12 accurately. We ended up BDing Wed and Thurs before a likely Sat O, so who the heck knows! It seems like you might end up with a copule days before O with your attempt, too. Is that what you've done in the past? I am really curious how long those little swimmers last--seems like two days should work! How early did those of you with BFPs try?

Dream I know how you feel, my cycles prior to September were 35+ days but I wasn't charting so I can't show you! My o date and cycle length has been helped by the soy and the diet I think. I would have loved clomid but am scared to ask as our local doctor is really not into medicine, ironically! He won't give out anything unless its been a big long process and push. Even when I'd been Ill for 10 weeks I didn't get antibiotics. So I just don't bother going anymore.

I would say that spike and almost positive opk was your body attempting to o and failing (called a fake o), what vitamins or supplements are you on? You will probably find you get another +opk in the next day or two when you are about to o for real. Just do it again when you can, and don't use acijel or anything in between attempts because you never know which one will catch the egg and you don't want to kill the sperm from your last attempt (I believe I did this a few times unknowingly).

Yah, that spike really through me for a loop - we BD really really late the night before that high temp and when I woke up I was fully under the covers and felt really warm and just knew my temp was going to be high.. and of course it was. I asked on a board and some people think it was just a fluke high temp. I definitely have had O pains today so I'm wondering if it might be happening as we speak...

Thanks everyone for the congratulations! I feel dizzy and queasy so I believe it now. For what's it's worth I had NOTHING in the way of symptoms until now, and, like I posted earlier on the morning before my first BFP i went on a hard hilly run and felt great. My breasts still aren't sore.

MsBlakely, I had the most unusual OPKs ever and I eventually gave up. I'm pretty sure I Oed on day 18 which would be about right for me with my 31/32 day cycle but using them just made me more confused The only positive OPKs I got were with FMU and that was from about day 15 onwards. I stopped testing on day 19 cos I was over it. I'd have a positive FMU but then a 10 am one and a 7 pm one would be negative and then I'd have a positive FMU again. For 4 days. I eventually went with EWCM and gut feeling! It's hot here and I'm often awake with the baby so I didn't temp. The weather and the need to drink lots could have affected my OPKs (maybe) but I restricted fluid and did a decent hold before them.

Anyway, it's safe to say I Oed and I'm sure you will soon too.

Opk's are positive usually 12-48hrs BEFORE you o. You need to do 3-4 a day if you are having trouble catching that surge it's timing more than anything. You probably have a short surge or surge overnight like I do. I have to test 4 times a day, one with first morning wee (not always recommended) because otherwise I miss it. I need help from those of you that are charter!!

This entire month I've taken my temp right around 7am. Last night my son woke up at 5am so I quickly took my temp then before going in to get him a bottle. (He hasn't woken up my entire charting phase this month so I've never had a disrupted temp) and at 5am my temp was 36.09 which is shockingly low from any of my other numbers - My lowest was yesterday 36.30. I went right back to sleep and woke up again at 7:30am and took my temp right away like usual and it was 36.60.. which do I use?! They are so different? AND it makes a big difference as my temp yesterday dropped down so this mornings temp would either reflect O or not!

Boymomsrock
January 23rd, 2013, 10:41 AM
Use the first temp. And since you took it earlier it is supposed to be lower. There's a temp adjuster somewhere but I think it would adjust to 36.3. You really don't need to calculate that far and would round up 36.09 to 36.1 anyway.

I've read through all the posts here--congrats to the BFP ladies, and hugs to those who are moving onto another month of TTC.

I am on CD 20 and have no had a +opk yet. I am on clomid, which made me ovulate late with my 2 previous pregnancies (days 17 and days 22). We BD on day 14 and day 18 to sort of "cover our bases" so now it's just waiting to see. I have a blood test Friday morning (day 22 progesterone check) so I'll know for sure then.

It's so nice knowing that other women are going through this process, too. It definitely is a challenge.

Mindy - which days did you take clomid? Also did you ov earlier when not on it? I'm curious as I'm starting next month cd2-6 and am scared it'll make me ov late. I'm sick of having to do opks 4 times daily from cd12-21 as I ov on my own between cd14-22. This month I think has been anovulatory as I'm on cd22 and no sign of it yet! I really hope I ov early on it, will be taking 50mg.

I've been weird on food. I can't figure out if that's good or not. Decided to let the 2ww go a bit on the diet but still skip breaky and not snack.

Thing is, I feel like foods I don't usually like and don't feel like any of the things I usually like to cheat on. I don't even feel like eating much at all. But then this morning I couldn't skip breakfast. I usually have no issue with it now I've been doing it 8 months. Then at lunchtime I couldn't eat anything.

What I do feel like is sweet foods. But not enough to motivate me to actually eat.

Has anyone else had this when pg? My temps are different to previous months.

Do you guys think I've O'd (for those who know charts?) I thought the jumps in temp were supposed to be way more drastic.. mine looks very consistent...

My Ovulation Chart (http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/41ae13)

good luck to everyone though!!

From my experience the temp shift is more drastic. Are you drinking Pep tea or taking SP? They can delay O! I'm not saying that you didn't O I'm just saying in my experience it is a much more drastic temp shift. However, you might have a gradual rise, so you might know more tomorrow, I think if it doesnt go higher tomorrow then you may not have ovulated yet. Is this your first month of temping?

No Pep tea or SP, and yes first month of temping. I'm so confused because the last few days feels like O has happened - small amounts of EWCM, cramping, and CP (from what I can tell) but no +OPK's (one close to positive on Monday morning).. I normally have 28-29 days cycles so I'm so lost! Grrrr

Ms blakely that does not indicate ovulation. You may just be having an anovulatory cycle which we all can have from time to time.

With anovulatory cycle do you still get the cramping and EWCM etc? Your body just never releases the egg? I've had lots of cramping the last two days...

From my experience, my 2 anovulatory cycles I've had nothing, just creamy cm and lots of it like I usually get in the 2ww. I know I haven't missed my lh surge and haven't had an +opk either. I did have a cycle in Aug when I felt I was gearing up to ov with plenty of clear cm but no ewcm which is my surefire sign of ov day. I also didn't have an opk+ then either. I'm certain that I'm currently having an anovulatory cycle and am not sure when to expect af! Last time this happened was about 2 years ago and we weren't ttc then, I just remember wondering why I'd had no ewcm on any one day that cycle!

Perhaps you've had a fake lh surge and your body didn't release the egg. You might get an opk+ v soon if you haven't already!

Interesting. I've never had an anovulatory cycle before that I'm aware of. My longest cycle ever was 31 days (always 28) so this month has thrown me for a complete loop. I've had all the signs of O (except a +OPK that I've caught) but my temps aren't reflecting anything. My last two temps have been on frequent waking nights with waking up around 4-5am and temping at 7 so not sure if that's screwing with my chart as all the other nights I slept right through

Well I tested today at 10DPO...and a BFN....so its got me dissapointed. I think I was reading somewhere that BFN at day 11 the odds of getting a BFP so fingers crossed for the morning.

Mine was negative too at day 11, but I feel like I am having a bunch of early symptoms, so I am not too down about it yet. Even though some people get positives that early, I don't think it is that common. Fingers crossed for you!

True blue- I had those boob pains with my first pregnancy. Good sign! Also had headaches in the same fashion but no sign if those so far.
I was mildly nauseated until noon yesterday which is rare for me. Also had some very light spotting. I never spot unless 1-2 days before AF and she isn't due until Monday. Hmmmm? Is that too early for implantation bleeding - 8 DPO?

Mindy - which days did you take clomid? Also did you ov earlier when not on it? I'm curious as I'm starting next month cd2-6 and am scared it'll make me ov late. I'm sick of having to do opks 4 times daily from cd12-21 as I ov on my own between cd14-22. This month I think has been anovulatory as I'm on cd22 and no sign of it yet! I really hope I ov early on it, will be taking 50mg.

This is my first cycle on Clomid for this pregnancy. When I took it to conceive my 2 sons, I took it on days 5-9 and ovulated Day 22. Took it days 3-7 and ovulated day 15, and took it days 4-8 and ovulated Day 18. I never get any +opk when I've been on clomid, I just knew from temping. This time around, I'm not temping either, so it will just be a guess when I ovulated. I find out tomorrow through progesterone blood check if I did or not! :)

Just frustrated.... my temps are still looking ok. But this is the first time charting.

I've attached my chart to my signature...what does everyone think is there still hope.

FF said that i O on day 15... but i didn't get positive OPK's till afterwards. If id did O later then i still should have some time... Before charting I would have said i O on day 17 or 18 which would only make we 8-9DPO??

If not i've arranged a consult with Dr. Potter for next week.

I was really feeling preggers! I never POAS because I'm only 10 DPO today. Why would my period have started 5 days early? It's never early :-(

I understand completely msblakely. Happy 2013 hey?! More of the same cr*p from last year ie more bfns! An anoulatory cycle for me too, haven't a clue when to expect af. Hopefully not too soon as I'm on cd24 and trying to get hold of my clomid for next month. I usually have long cycles so am hoping to get af towards the end of next week. It would tie in better with dh's shifts better too for our attempt. I feel SO down about it all at the moment and think I've exhausted my friends' patience irl talking about it for the last year. :(

Dreamofpink - did it take you long to get pregnant with both your boys? I got pregnant first cycle with both of mine so I was shocked that it's cycle number 2 and I'm expecting a negative again! I just assumed that if you've had an easy time twice.. it's going to be easy the third time!

I think this cycle is stress-related and I was glad to not have to decide whether to wait for the clomid or not. Hon you definitely need to gain some back, atomic doesn't recommend anyone go under 18BMI for girl sway (or for TTC at all) because you will risk stopping o. That's def what's going on.

FYI I have 2 boys, and conceived both first go, one on the pill actually (happy surprise but NOT planned) and the other first month off the pill. I've been off the pill 8 months now and charting for 6. So far I've o'd every month I've charted but have issues with a short luteal phase which extended last month using soy.

I've had two chemical's in the 6 months of charting (where you get a + preg test then still get af, and test goes negative, so you lost the embryo before it implanted enough to stick).

Maybe your sway is a touch aggressive if your BMI went so low? I had to ease up a bit too, and dropped things like peppermint tea, cran (I came over from IG), eased off the disprin and acijel just using them sparingly prior to o.

I paid for a plan last month and its helped SO much. A few things I was mucking up was acijel between attempts! Apparently for those who use it, you only do prior to first attempt. NOT after, or it kills everything! Oops.

I was def overdoing it.

FYI all girl swayers atomic just got new stats on acidophilus and they aren't great. She has recommended I drop them ASAP. I bet I'm pg and will stress for the next 20 weeks that the acidophilus ruined my perfect girl sway.

I know what you mean, I couldn't help but feel last month that if I conceived straight up like last times, I'd be 8 months pregnant now.

Terrified the acidophilus ruined my sways and for once I actually want a BFN this month so I can drop it! That's crazy.

Oh I know, I'm trying to gain some back. However, I conceived both boys with a 16 BMI so i've always been very much underweight even though I eat a lot. I really feel like I O'd this month.. I'd be so shocked if I did because of the EWCM, CP and cramping.. ah, I don't know what to think! All I know is that next month we are very much easing up. I'm keeping protein low, no snacking/breakfast but I'm not going to watch cals as closely. We wanted to be pregnant by March due to our boys ages and that's getting less and less likely as the sway continues so this was our last month with a uber strong sway. Grrrrrrrr

In that case, I agree entirely with your reasoning. If you have a very high metabolism and have always been underweight (jealous!!) then there's not much you can do, so that's a good plan.

Staying off the multivitamins etc will help, did you take those before? I know I was loaded with them for my boys. My BMI was always on the underweight side of Normal, so 20ish at the time. I snacked all the time (healthy stuff) and ate breakfast always (oats, which are apparently terrible for TTC girl), ate meat, when I had a splurge day diet wise it was always high fat and salt never high sugar. We did it every 2nd-3rd day, and basically I did everything boy.

Am now 18bmi and no breakfast, no snacks, no meat (well, in the 2ww for December and jan I ate meat about 3 times, but other than that not at all for 8 months), we tried abstain and fr, this month we kind of combined and did abstain until I thought I was about to o, then switched to fr. Then didn't o for like 5 days! Annoying.

If I went on my signals I would have o'd on cd 15, but then had another bunch of cramps on cd 19 after the +opk and my temps confirm that must have been o.

In my 8 months TTC this time I've never known a chart to be wrong. Temps show things we can't measure accurately elsewhere. Because you can gear up to o then not actually release the egg so you have all the signs but don't get +opk or higher temps to confirm.

You may just o really late so keep opk-ing.

black&gold
January 25th, 2013, 06:47 PM
With my first I just ate whatever, lots of meat for sure and junk. I didn't really work out much, but I snacked 24/7 (always have) and ate breakfast all the time. We did abstain for about a week and then 5-6 attempts in the fertile window with both my boys. My second, I was working out for 20mins a day running and eating healthy, but it included meat and avocado and lots of "healthy" foods. I feel like he could have been a girl considering I was losing weight and had just stopped BF'ing but I definitely snacked all the time so maybe my blood sugar has a big part to play. He was an abstain with about 5-6 attempts as well

This time we did FR with 3 attempts, only 2 even remotely in the fertile window though with FR in between. I've used OPK's today and they are negative, even more so than yesterday so not sure that what means. My temps definitely dropped a little a few days ago and then have been on the rise ever since but aren't on a different level than my previous temps.. just at the high end (if that makes any sense). I guess my temps will continue to tell me more but I can say I'm cramping like mad today and have CM (more so than ever this week) but not EW, just regular. SO who knows!!!

letiha

Just to clarify should i count DPO from when fertility friend said I O'd or from +opk which were the 2 days after this.

Af has always gnome 14 days from the +opk

meeks32
January 25th, 2013, 08:45 PM
+opk can't happen after o, and o is usually 12-48hrs after the first +opk. I would ignore ff in this case and count from when the opk and cramping told you o happened. I can't see your chart on my phone but your temps could have been mucked up if you temp orally, sleep with mouth open, were sick, or got up to settle a child. If you had a rise at some stage after the +opk, you o'd the night/day before the rise.

Hope that makes sense!

I am out this month too. The spotting I had at 8 DPO continued off and on and got red last night. Had a lot of cramping and fatigue yesterday (wanted to curl up in a ball). I was really feeling preggers! I never POAS because I'm only 10 DPO today. Why would my period have started 5 days early? It's never early :-(
Could it be because of my 1st month doing my boy sway? I was taking EPO from AF-O. Any ideas would be appreciated - thanks!

Fingers crossed for you True blue!

Hi Averysmon - it was my first month blue swaying last month and AF arrived early for me too. O on CD19 and then AF CD29 - I took EPO too. All my early pregnancy symptoms have dissapeared and I am convinved AF will arrive tomorrow as having some strange tummy aches for last couple of days. Tested today (10DPO) and had a BFN :(

Thanks Saralou! How many days early were you? I'm concerned if AF is this early again I won't have enough time to implant. My cycle was only 21 days for crying out loud. It's still early for you though, dear - you could still get your bfp :-) keeping my fingers crossed for you. If not this month then maybe next month will be our month since our bodies will have more time to adjust to swaying. And better chance of successful sway!

I still can't believe all the pre-pregnancy symptoms I had that were completely in my head. I am trying to figure out what kept us from getting our bfp because I wasn't early, I didn't do any douching, I thought we dtd at just the right time. Hmm. The only thing I wonder is with the FR, is 12 days in a row too much for the little swimmers to replenish? I need to do some research on that, but does anyone have any thoughts on that? My husband is 42 this month, and I know abstaining is not a good idea in that case. How often is too much?

I would have thought fr for 12 days may be a tad much. Pm atomic about it though.

Just something to think about though, even while not swaying someone who is in perfect condition bd-ing at the correct time for ov, with no frequency tactics still only has 25% chance of getting pregnant.

So if you do all the same things as this month in a perfect world it could take you 4 months to conceive. Add in any age/fertility/timing issues and that's why doctors say perfectly healthy people often take a year to get pregnant.

Add swaying and I guess it's longer.

BUT with the opk-ing and temping we do you would imagine catching the egg would be quicker, despite the sway factors.

How long have you been trying?

I definitely think too much FR can make it difficult to get a BFP. We DTD 16 days in a row this past month and got a BFN. I was surprised b/c I have never seen a BFN before...always got pregnant the first month. And I know we timed everything perfectly otherwise (I didn't J&D or use any antiH or anything). My husband was taking Licorice Root this month though so I'm sure that added to lowering the sperm count too.

Also, I know Thorz had been trying a few months doing super long FR (16 days as well) and then she cut it out this past month and got a BFP. So I'm definitely dropping it on our next attempt.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere on here that Atomic didn't think that frequency swayed all that heavily anyway.

I'd be curious to see what other people thought about FR from their own experiences. Are a lot of ladies doing this? Maybe its why we're not getting more BFPs?? Who knows. But like Meeks said even with perfect conditions its only a 25% chance each month. So maybe I'm overreacting! I just really don't want to see another BFN!

We did FR this month (I'm assuming BFN as everyone on here thinks my chart showed no O - I'm assuming from too much weight loss..) but we only did 7-8 days of FR and DH almost died. It was seriously hard on him and getting in attempts was stressful because his body was just obviously not use to the frequency. I asked Atomic about this and if I remember correctly she said it "COULD" sway 6% max.. as apparently lower sperm count in males sways roughly 6% - but you don't know how it will effect your DH.. his sperm numbers might drop but not as much as someone who's considered "low" sperm count if that makes sense (I'm all just speculating on this) Needless to say next month we aren't doing any frequency as I want more than one attempt, refuse to do FR again as it was just too much and abstain worries me about birth defects so I'm over it... and 6% isn't much at all - I'm kind of canning swaying all together since it's totally screwed me up. I got pregnant first month with both my boys and it's been 2 months now with BFN. So frustrating

Last cycle was my first month off the BCP so not sure if this had something to do with it. Previous months (on BCP) my cycles were 31 days so I think I was 3 days early. My biggest concern was I only had a LP of 10 days. I've never tracked my cycles before so this shocked me a bit. I've got my fingers crossed for us next month :fx: AF still not here but tested negative again this morning (11dpo) so I think it's only a matter of time - perhaps me stressing about it has delayed it!! Or maybe I'm back to a 31 day cycle...

Grrr, so frustrating...I got pregnant with dd when on the pill so didn't even have to try so to speak. Plus I'm the healthiest I have ever been now (a stable weight, eating healthy, lots of sleep, little alcohol), you think it would be easy! It's true!!! I truly believe this is one of the biggest reasons we got a BFP because we reduced our FR Drastically. 16 straight was just too much, by the time I O'd I'm sure there wasn't much left.

Wow there hold up. If you JUST came off birth control your cycle will be mucked up for a number of months, most likely, unless you are one of the very few that don't experience this. Also, you can't count how long your cycle is on BCP because they regulate your cycle, that's their job, and stop you from o-ing. LP of 10 days is just within the normal, but doctors like to see 12+ ideally. Give it a few months to regulate though after the pill. Soy iso helped lengthen mine last month.

How long have you been trying?

We've really only tried for one month--with both my boys it was immediate, so I am just not used to seeing the bfn, you know? I've been on the diet for three months (now into the 4th) and it is partly a desire to start eating normally again that I just want to see the positive! With the negative, it concerned me mostly because we are 6 months post vasectomy reversal, and I was afraid it meant that the surgery was not successful. Yesterday, we did a little home fertility test, and he seemed to pass, so we'll see how this month goes. I am going to reduce the FR, though. For such a small percentage of swaying, I'd rather risk it and hope that the many other pieces to the puzzle make a bigger difference.

I agree, we have partially dropped frequency and are now using compressed fr but will be dropping that next month if we don't get a BFP.

I think it's more likely your body after BCP this his reversal that is the issue, given he passed the fertility test.

I conceived on the pill wi ds1 (accidentally) and first month off with ds2, so I was in the same boat as you when I started, I expected fast results and was shocked as the months went by. I totally understand the diet frustration! I'm over it but also just kind of numb now. I just do it robotically and try not to think about what I'm missing. Mind you this 2WW I cheated a few times so have had to crack down again hard before I got too far in the wrong direction.

Don't have much left to loose after 8 months on diet, so now I'm trying to stay the same weight.

hey ladies good luck, i know it feels rubbish espechally if you're swaying pink and can't eat anything! Finally getting a bfp after 8 months of trying honestly made it all worthwhile (2 one hit wonders before). I was impatient too but it's quiet normal for it to take a few months one month you might ovulate too late another you might not ovulate at all (I know I didn't as ending up having some tests to check) try and keep relaxed (I know it's impossiable)

I was 9dpo yesterday, but I'm not 100% sure about it, I might have been 8dpo, my temps are a bit messed up because I had a drink the evening of CD15 so that could have been what made my temp rise rather than ovulation. I only got my positive opk that day and I don't normally ovulate until the day afterwards.

Meeks, what a long haul! It must feel particularly long since the first two were so easy. Funny how when you are really trying, it can feel so much harder. It is good to have the reminder that it is a 1 in 4 chance, even when conditions are right.

We did FR with a cutoff last time, and if Atomic seems to think that timing doesn't really sway, I think we'll try for a shorter duration of frequency and not do any cutoff. When are you trying next?

Interesting, I've never heard that before. Last cycle I stopped my OPK's at CD15 because I ran out and we'd already made our attempt (we did abstain with 1 attempt). This month I've been using them since CD12 (DH is not happy since I'm buying all the first response ones.. like 50$ a box!!) and I've never seen a full on positive, but there has consistently been a medium dark line so I just keep waiting for that positive OPK but it's not coming. I think that's interesting it meant a BFP for you and although I have some signs, I did last month too and got BFN so at this point I'm just assuming anovulatory cycle = obvious BFN

I had a very, very faint line on an Internet cheapie today. Going to get more frer after buying the wrong kind by mistake. There wasn't much colour in my line so I'm skeptical. That's what happened when I had my chemicals too.

Also I had to adjust my temp with a calculator because ds1 woke a lot and I had to use my temp at 5am because that's the only one where I had 3hrs sleep prior. So not sure if my temp actually is 'Up' or not.

Do you have a pg test you can do to confirm you aren't? A lot of times anovulatory cycle can actually be late o.

Otherwise yes I did have days of almost positive for a few cycles, before my positive opk. My actual surge doesn't last long usually so I have to test 3 x a day and once with fmu despite that not being recommended. I usually get a + with fmu on opk's. I buy Internet cheapies though.

I'm only on CD23.. so I guess max 7 or 8 days past O if it happened. I will test if I end up missing my period, but if I didn't ovulate then I'm going to assume my period will be late? I've never had a late period before so we'll see. I will be shocked if this was actually an anovulatory cycle. The amount of cramping I've had for over a week now is insane. At first for the first few days it was ovary pain and now it's menstrual so I have no clue whats going on. I just want this cycle to come so I can move on!!!!

I'm so happy for you! How long swaying hon?
So did you retest today??? My fingers are crossed for you, your temps look good!

Sorry you're having such a wonky cycle, it's so frustrating. Do you think you can get one in tonight? You will usually O within 12 - 36 hours of +OPK (although you're right, your chart looks like it might have happened). One more attempt just to cover your bases?

We're planning for one tonight just to cover ourselves. I didn't do a j&D or any refresh so I'm hoping there was still some left from Saturday night.. if I O'd last night that was only just at the 48hrs mark... I'm just happy I O'd, regardless of BFP or not as I got worried I may have messed things up completely

Agree! Tonight bd just in case but 48hrs with no rephresh or anything to kill the sperm it's definitely possible.

So I think it's safe to say I O'd sometime Monday.. so I'm only 2DPO.. I don't even know if anything has a shot at sticking because if my period stays on time it'll only be a 6 day LP... Oh well, still not banking on this month but we BD last night and my temps were still up this morning with another +OPK. I'm assuming I should have tested with FMU on Monday morning and that would have been my first +OPK by going with what my chart says. Ugh, so happy to know I actually O'd.. now to get it back to day CD15 instead of 22!

Fingers crossed for everyone still waiting to test!

Ms Blakely, your LP should still be the same number of days after O. So if you're LP is usually 14 days you can count on (hopefully not) seeing AF 14 days from now. It's my understanding that although O day can vary, LP generally does not. Good luck!

When did everyone start feeling symptoms? I'm shocked that I can't remember when with my past two pregnancies! I remember their symptoms just not WHEN they actually started! I feel like it was instantly.. but a lot of that's psychological I think

It'd official I'm out again this month.
Of note is that af came 14 days after my +opk instead of 14 days from when fertility friend said I ovulated which was what I expected. Despite the length of my cycle changing over the past 6 months the 14 days had been consistent.

Back to the doctor tommorrow to see what the blood tests say.

Good luck for the next 9 months for all the ladies who got a bfp this month.
