Hi,
I have a clearblue ov digital kit from when we were ttc with our daughter.
I had planned to use it again this time when we ttc a boy, but we are on a much tighter budget now and I had forgotten how expensive the sticks are.
has anyone had success using any cheaper alternatives? If so which could you recommend? Or am I best to stick with clearblue as I already have the monitor? (sticks are around £10 for 10)
thanks

Personally I'd stick with the monitor, there's no guess work involved with lines etc

I would use the monitor. You can get sticks online for a lot cheaper than in store. I LOVE my monitor. I have 3 boys because of it.

I had a stack of cheapies, they serve their purpose and you don't feel guilty using them often. I ended up TTC for 10 months so you can imagine how many i used!

Clear blue is quite expensive but I kind of trust them better than others. IMO, I would recommend you use CB.

Hi there.
I'm on second cycle ttc. First cycle I used clearblue, which were great. This time I'm using Boots own brand - and they are freaking me out! I started off with a a relatively dark line (but not as dark as the test line) directly after AF, this then dissapeared and now a faint line has re-appeared again. I'm CD14 and thinking I will O around CD17 (I hope!). But I am worried about their reliability and how dark the line needs to be to validate O (as dark as the test line according to the kit!). Anyway, the point to my ramblings is that I think I should have stuck to Clearblue....although appreciate they are a bit pricey. That's my experience at present anyway! x

you can use both for additional information and save clear blue for confirmation of ovulation

thank you all. I was thinking I could just use the clearblue monitor on days that i chose (pee on a stick and find out how LH was in my system - so how far I was from OV) but on reading the booklet again, I have to begin using it on the first day of my menstrual cycle, then only do a test when the monitor requests one. Its asks for around 10 per cycle. I was hoping I could just use it a couple of days a month to confirm Ov but doesnt look like I can :-( oh well.

I have used cheap tests purchased over the internet and I could never work out if I had ovulated.
I have now just purchased clear blue (1st cycle) and it seems to be going ok so far. Will keep you updated :)
