Hey there. I am now 7 weeks along. Still waiting for an early ultrasound to confirm a heartbeat (a little anxious after my miscarriage in November). So far, my pregnancy is completely different than my first, a girl. I was sooooo sick with her by now and I've only had waves of nausea this time and can still eat most foods. I was not really tired with her, I am more tired now. Breasts were not sore with her, sore now.

My sway wasn't the best because I conceived 2 weeks after a miscarriage and when I thought I was pregnant, I was taking prenatals and eating healthy.

Reasons it could be a boy (based on what was happening at conception):
--I had more CM than ever, higher sex drive than ever, more fertile after miscarriage?
--was eating chicken
--We BD'd on CD 13 and 16 (day of O)--timing and frequency is in more territory (I know timing isnt important but frequency is). We were going for abstinence but I messed up when I thought an OPK was positive and it wasnt! We conceived my DD with abstinence.
--husbands side of the family--all boys!
--conceived in December

Reasons it could be a girl:
Baby aspirin to lower PH
no breakfast
(mostly) LE diet
took Zyrtec
no exercise
was lower weight than when conceived DD

This is all I can think of for now. But all the important sway factors, point to a boy and just how different things are, I am thinking boy. first and foremost, I want a healthy take home baby!

It could certainly be your boy, and I hope it is! That said, I don't think you should put any weight on the hope that a different pregnancy will bring a different gender. It's just not so. When I was pregnant with my second son, the pregnancy was so different from my first pregnancy that I convinced myself I was having a sweet baby girl. When we found out at the u/s that he was a boy, I had a long fall back to reality. I'd set myself up for something else entirely and I'd only based it on the fact that I felt so different with him. This time, my pregnancy is very different again...I'm just not allowing myself to read anything into it. Good luck to you!

Hi I'm the same with ds I was soooo sick, couldn't even look at food for the 1st trimester. This time I'm only 6 and a bit weeks but no sickness so far and I'm eating everything in sight! I have heard that each pregnancy is different and it doesn't necessarily mean a different gender - but I'm still hoping that for me it does! Lol! Fc for both of us!!

My second boy was a polar opposite pregnancy to my first boy. Everyone was convinced he would be a girl. Whereas my sister had a boy first and her second pregnancy was identical to the first and she had a girl. I definitely don't buy this theory at all anymore!! It obviously is true 50% of the time.. so it still could be the opposite for you but I doubt it's because of the gender..

Unfortunately, I don't think one can make generalizations on only two pregnancies. If you had four girl pregnancies that were similar and now were having an entirely different one, I might be inclined to think the opposite gender. But I hear just as many people have different pregnancies for all babies. Or their first two the same and being opposite genders. Or them being polar opposites and having the same gender. It seems that some women don't have a "pattern" in pregnancies, where others do. And only having one pregnancy previously, I wouldn't count on any "patterns."

My first two were not "polar" opposites, were more similar than different. But in regards to energy, boob soreness, and nausea patterns, they were rather different. One I had all day nausea and threw up a lot. One I had only motion sickness. One I had a decent amount of energy, one I was exhausted all the time (mighta had something to do with having an older child to care for). And one I had no soreness at all in my boobs. And the next I had sore breasts for months, well into the second trimester. They were both boys.

yeah, I doubt there is any science behind it. Just interesting and keeps you wondering as you wait :) But my "sway" if I can even call it that looks boy to me.

there may be something to it but it's one of those things where it's only in retrospect...I've just seen too many people tearing themselves up worrying over this symptom or that.

The only diff. between my boy pgs and my girl one, is that with my girl I felt sick after I ate. With my boys, I felt sick until I ate, then I felt fine. As a result I didn't gain as much with her early on and my tummy was smaller, but I think it was because I didn't gain the weight, not because she was a girl. I could only have known that in retrospect though.

I have seen where ppl are sick with one or the other and then i have seen where girls are sick with both gender's so it might be the case but it's alway's hard to tell until you know your gender my MIL had BGBGG and she said she was only sick with her boy's and not her girls and then my mom has GGGB and my mom said she was way sick wither her girls and not her boy, then I have a girl friend who has both girls and boy's and was sick with all of them. And for me my first boy I was not sick at all I didn't even feel pregnant and my second boy I was sicker then a dog and was sick even before I took a pregnancy test so there we go it' just depends. Sometimes it's the case with ppl and sometimes it's not.

Also On that note my doctor said the only reason ppl are way sick in pregnancy or over the other pregnancy is because of HcG hormone levels. So that could be it too.

Yeah with my girl, I was sick all the time, no matter what. This time, I'm usually better after I eat. With my girl, I didn't gain a pound til about 20 weeks (maybe bc I was throwing up all the time). This time, I've gained 2 pounds already, probably bc I'm eating more. Pretty convinced its a boy.

I know nothing I say can change your mind but there's no way to tell from symptoms.

I believe you :) I guess I am thinking more about my "sway" more than anything and the chances of having 2 girls just seems so unlikely esp. with all the boys in my husbands family. Oh, the wondering and waiting...just wanting a healthy babe though :)
