Found this site on IG. Got so tired of the monkeys and saw that someone posted this site. Sure glad I found it. Looks like my time will be more productive (more research and less looking at monkeys). I am a stay at home Mom of two wonderful boys. I love them to pieces but would love a girl to complete our family. For me it isn't about the pink dresses and bows in the hair, it is about the long term relationship Moms and daughters have. It has been a rough time trying to convince my DH to have another child but I finally did it and we are going to start as early as August (as long as I feel comfortable with what we are doing to sway). I am 36 so this is probably our last baby and I realize that it is probably going to take a few months to conceive but that is okay, I can be patient. Thanks for reading and looking forward to figuring out how to get my little girl!!

Wish me :luck:

HI! I completely understand and just want you to know that whatever happens, you can have a great relationship with an adult son as well - I have two grown sons and two babies (I am nutty that way) and my adult sons and I are very close! Welcome!!!!

Hi WantingPink. We sound the same. I am 36 (but will be 37 by the time we start trying for a girl) with two boys but man I would so love to get a little girl. I did try to sway using shettles for a girl when we had our second boy. I am feeling a bit over whelmed as what to try this time to get a girl so I will be looking at this site to try and see what other people are doing to hopefully get their girl. I have started to make notes but there are so many different things to try so I will look forward to seeing what your plan of action will be. cheers Jude

Hi WantingPink, Thanks for the message. I can't reply to private messages until I post 5 times so hopefully you get this post. I took cranberry tablets, calcium and magnesium tablets. I also took one of those antihistamines to dry everything up! I cut back on salt, no bananas etc but I hadn't found this site so didn't realise the extent that you should go to change your diet. So this time I would need to be a lot better at the diet i.e. minimising protein etc. I tried 4-2 day cut offs but after doing this for 10 months it just wasn't working. So in the end I think I conceived with only a one day cut off. So next time I was thinking of getting hubby to abstain for 7+ days and try O+12. Also to use acijel and sylk. I am just not sure though as people on here say that's it hard to get pregnant with O+12 and very easy to get it wrong and actually hit ovulation day (my first boy was conceived on ovulation day). So I was wondering if to try a cut off again but I just couldn't get preggy using that last time. I wonder if my age is going against me! We have just had our second boy so I wasn't thinking of trying again to conceive until the end of this year (I try not to think to much about such a close age gap!). My older boy is 4 so I am finding it relatively easy having a new baby and an older child. I was really going to try and reduce testosterone levels so I was going to see what tips there were to do this. I don't think I would have any luck getting hubby to change his ways although I will have to get him to stop drinking coffee as he drinks a lot of coffee! Did you sway with your boys? I am not sure about losing weight as I am very little. Do you have any idea if skipping breakfast is a really good swaying factor for conceiving a girl? cheers Jude

Hey Jude, thanks for the response. Interesting some of the things you tried. From all the things I have read and my personal experience I think this is what I am going to do... First of all I didn't know a thing about swaying with my first two kids. My first was kind of an oops so I have no idea when I O'd. With my second one we tried day before O. I got pregnant both times with one try so I guess that is a good thing right?? Now reading all the boy sway factors I can say this... with my second the timing was definitely sway boy. I always ovulate on a full moon (not sure how much this really factors into it though) which sways boy. I believe I am testosterone heavy. I love salt and don't like dairy. I also produce a lot of EWCM (sorry if it is TMI but I do think this is a really important factor for boys). So... it kind of figures that I have had two boys now. Not surprising from everything that I have read. Over the last year I have changed my diet dramatically. I have been eating very very "clean". Whole foods only (nothing processed). I now eat a lot of veggies (mainly spinach, cabbage, broccoli, and kale), a little chicken or fish (maybe 2-3 oz a day and ALWAYS organic), nuts, and a little fruit (one serving). I eat as much organic as I can get my hands on. I don't eat any processed foods. I can tell this has changed my hormones. The hair on my arms, legs, and face have gotten a lot lighter (at least I can notice). I am not sure if it is anything that anyone else would notice (it isn't like I had super hairy arms or a beard) but I can most definitely tell a difference. I have been using fit day to calculate how much Calcium, Sodium, Potassium, and Mag I have been eating. I am actually getting more calcium than I thought but while I am swaying I think I will supplement with a calcium/Mg drink of some kind. I will have to cut out the salt... I am a salt junky!! I eat the non processed/non bleached celtic sea salt now but I should probably stop that 6 weeks before my first try. To lower my pH it seems the most effective way is to drink aspartame (even though I hate that stuff) but it seems to work very quickly so I shouldn't have to do it for weeks just days. I will have to experiment with it to see what it does. I am planning on doing the O+12 because it seems like it will be the most effective for me since I have lots of EWCM. I will also do an antihistamine of some kind. I still need to test DH pH. If it is too high (I know he won't diet) I will have to lower it probably with lime in a diva cup. I might be able to get him to drink crystal light and we can experiment with that. I will also see if I cant get him to take a hot shower before BD. But that will probably be as much as he will do... he thinks all this stuff is crazy. I am going to try to loose a little bit of weight but I am pretty small too so it will probably be only about 5 -10 lbs. To do this I probably won't change my diet significantly (it is already pretty low calorie) I will just run and do an elliptical ~30 minutes a day and lift a few weights but nothing crazy with the weights. I usually eat a serving or two of brown rice everyday and I can stop doing that and eat a salad or something non-starchy instead. I am not sure about the skipping breakfast thing. For me personally when I skip breakfast I am hungry and then end up eating more later which then will then raise blood glucose. Instead I am going to keep doing what I am doing which is a green smoothie for breakfast, 2-3 oz of chicken/fish for lunch with a salad, small amount of nuts as a snack, and another green smoothie for dinner. Lots and lots of water. I have also heard that cinnamon can help lower and/or stabilize blood glucose. This is really easy to add to a smoothie. So how long did you try last time when you were having a hard time getting prego? Were you doing a cut off of O+12? Did you find it hard to figure out exactly when O+8-20 was? Do you think you were overshooting it? I am pretty regular and ovulate almost every cycle on day 16 or 17 but I am still a little scared about messing up O+12. I also need to look into the acijel and sylk more assuming DH pH is okay. Anyway, hope that helps... your post has helped me. Please keep me updated and let me know if you find anything else useful. There is so much information and it seems to me like everyone is different and you have to customize your sway to your body. Good luck... lots of pink baby dust your way!!

I was in your position several years ago, when we were ttc#3. After getting pregnant easily with our first 2 boys, we decided to try Shettles for a girl. We did everything in the book, and after just 2 cycles, we were pg with our daughter. We planned to do the same when we ttc#4, but after 2 years of trying, we had to turn to a fertility specialist to get pg, and our littlest boy is now 5 months old thanks to that! I adore my boys, but there is definitely a different relationship with my daughter. We bond over different things, and I can see how she & I may continue to have a stronger relationship over the years. I'm hoping to try for one more girl in the next year. Have to get DH fully on board first!

Hi WantingPink. The first time I got pregnant it only took one try. The second time we tried different cut offs i.e. 4,3,2 days before ovulation (I used OPK's). I didn't get preggy, tried cut offs for around 10 months. But as soon as we tried the night of a positive OPK I got pregnant straight away. So I think that's good but wonder if I will always need to conceive during a really fertile stage and thus always sway for boys? I also think I have lots of testosterone as I have the same symptoms as you. Can you get your blood tested for testosterone levels? I LOVE salt but not dairy i.e. yoghurt etc. I never actually tested my pH but will do this, I just took the cranberry last time. It will be really interesting to see what my pH is? I don't think I can get crystal light where I live (New Zealand). Is this just a diet drink with aspartame? We did also try to conceive after ovulation but looking back we tried at night which I think was far too late and the egg would have been dead i.e. over shooting O+12. I didn't actively try to look for O+12 signs so I will start this for next time. I am a bit scared of O+12 as it would be easy to actually get ovulation day. I know a lot of people really think swaying helps but a lot of people also believe its just luck or a 50/50 chance each time. I would really love a girl so I really want to see if swaying does help. I am hoping by looking at this site over the next few months I will see what people have done for a girl and also get to see if they do get a girl or a boy? People seem to have a lot of luck using acijel but I need to look into this but I like the sound of acijel and maybe Sylk as a lube? If you use acijel do you then not use lime douche? cheers Jude

Wanting, it sounds like we have the same family make-up: two gorgeous sons and now wanting a beautiful daughter. So we'll both have to think very pink thoughts! :)

Atomic, I really appreciate what you posted about your relationships with your older sons. I think that plays a big part in my own GD ... the fear that when they grow up they don't need or want a connection with their mom (sayings like that stupid "a son is a son until he takes a wife" sure don't help!).
