When i was taking Vitex 400 mg i was at a 30-31 day. Then last cycle i started taking 800 mg and that put me at a 27 day cycle. I am on a new cycle now taking 800 mg Vitex, CD 7 and i already am noticing bad O pains already! I NEVER noticed O pain this early usually around CD 16-17 i notice O pain {when i was taking 400 mg Vitex}. So i think i will be ovulating soon this cycle. My OPK is not dark yet. i've noticed a small amount of EWCM. Is this normal due to the Vitex? Is it ok to ovulate early?

Well, as a non-doctor/scientist...my opinion is that your estrogen is starting to surge up.

As swayers, we like to see our hormones do something different, ykwim. So if that is not normal for you, then you know the Vitex is doing *something* to shake things up.

I have read stuff that says women with short follicular phases tend to have boys, (but by no means a rule to live by), so maybe note how long the over-all cycle is. Thats what I would do, if I was starting Vitex or something that affects hormones. There are definite clues to what your body is doing based on follicular phase and luteal phase lengths.

The cycle I ovulated early, day 25 of a 31 day cycle usually, I got pregnant with my only dd. I wasn't taking Vitex back then, but the wacky cycle may have helped me sway pink. Are you doing one attempt at +opk?

I have read ~somewhere but God knows where~ that later ovulations CAN mean a higher testosterone level, in relation to another hormone, so an earlier ovulation is not a bad thing :giggle: but women like myself, who consistently ovulate on day 9 or 10 of a longer than normal cycle and have enough boys for a baseball team makes you scratch your hopefully not hairy chin.

Its just so hard to know what is going on.

threemenandlady well i wasn't really gonna do an attempt this month but i did last night which put me at CD8 {i think still early maybe}. Now what i do not understand since my OPK is not getting dark yet but i am having major O pain! Also since being on the diet i see hardly any EWCM! With most of my boys i O like CD 18-19 i had a 31-32 day cycle.

My bfp cycle this time around I had o pains for about 5 days before, during, and after o. I was still crampy when I got my bfp and for about 2 weeks after that. I wouldn't go by the pains, go by the opk's. And great news on the cm...keep up the diet. Hope you get your girl!!!

you can have o pain and cm for a week before o and vitex can cause strong o pain.

you can o early tok of course but not necessarily. when things seem different from when you conceive your boys, that is probably a good thing.

Sorry if this is an old thread but I thought I should share my experience with Vitex so far. It's my first cycle taking it. I already ovulated normally (14-15) but wanted to `mess things up a bit`. I won't be TTC for another 4 months so I am taking it around the clock. I also felt very strong O pains starting on day 7 and increased EWCM by a lot. I ovulated on day 13, considering that my standard is day 15, t would have brought my O forward by 2 days! It's now 4 days past O and I still have some cramping and a bit of CM. I don't know what it's doing in there, but something is definitely different! My LP is 13 days, I am wondering now if it will shorten or make it longer.
