I think this will be my last time on any kind of sway diet. I'm happy AF showed up today cause last months sway was not the best. This diet is really killing me and I think I may make dramatic changes. My hair doesn't look so healthy, my lips are always dry and I'm getting ulcers on the inside of my mouth. Another big change I see in myself is I'm really cranky  and I notice snapping at my poor kids ! I'm just fatigued and I really feel like I'm unhealthy. I still want to sway somewhat. I'm going to eat mostly from the acidic foods, lower my salt intake, and basically just try to lose a pound or two in the next two weeks. I'll continue calcium, mag, folic acid and cranberry. I may allow myself a salad here and there, and some fruits and I'm going to eat some protein everyday but I'll try to keep it white meat. I think the lack of protein is making my hair fall out:sad: Do you think I still have a chance if I do these things if I'm able to maintain a low pH? I'll also douch before each attempt and jump and dump. Hope this works:luck: but I really need to be healthy for my kids and I'm just not my happy go lucky self anymore. I'm always low energy and just not in the mood to play with them and that makes me feel guilty. I feel like I need to enjoy the wonderful kids I have here with me:awe:
If i don't get Preg this month, I will quit the diet all together. I'm 35 and really want to get a BFP soon so if I don't get the BFP this month with the changes I'm making, I'll eat my regular balanced diet but just lower my caloric intake so that I don't gain weight.

I did I had spotty skin, my hair was lank and my general health deteriorated. I have fertility issues which I believe I made so much worse. I long for a girl but I can't do this to myself. I try to miss breakfast as much as I can if I get too grumpy I have it as it also makes me snappy. I have salad and limited fruit. I eat veg at tea time. Im avoiding red meat. Im avoiding salt, bananas, tomatoes and potatoes as much as I can. Im taking supps. Using replens etc but not excessively. Im going to bd up to ov and the day after. I want to be pregnant fast as well because of my fertility and it has taken me a long time to be happy with my loose sway but I know I cannot do more. Goodluck x

Well, since Af came today i will probably BD after AF so CD5 then try to go every day or every other until 3 days before O. I'm planning on DH to continue releasing so keep sperm count low then BD again O+12 or close to that. Hoping this works!

Me too!!! I'm thinking to just try to keep an acidic diet, skip breakfast, but incorporate some fruits and veggies and eat lean protein. All this aspartame, white breads and pastas, and no veggies and fruits is really hurting my body. Oh yeah, and it's not hard for me to skip the main no-nos like potatoes, tomatoes, and bananas.

Glittergirl, I just started the girl diet and I'm also feeling cranky, having headaches and am just feeling rundown. I ate a little chicken yesterday and felt better. I'm going to continue my supplements and reduce my salt and protein intake, but not to the extent I was. I just felt too weak. I want my little pink dream, but not at any expense.

You always have a chance at a baby girl no matter what you're eating.
I"m sorry you're feeling poorly! If I had my choice people would go hard on diet and NOT do timing, douching etc. and just get pregnant quickly to limit the amount of time on the diet. I'm sorry.

Thanks for the support Atomic! that's why I love this site cause you don't get beat down! I think many of us would be happy just to have another healthy baby anyway. I always think, if I end up with 4 happy healthy boys...then life is good:) I agree that the key is to get preg soon cause I feel like our body can only do this for a few months. FG diet is much more lenient and maybe I will switch to that if I don't get preg in April as I've been doing this for a few months now and staying acidic is taking it's toll on my health. Atomic, do you think that if i keep an acidic diet low in sodium and continue to skip breakfast and skip the major no-nos that i still have a good plan? It wont be the IG diet but I'll still keep low calorie and make my body feel like food is scarce? I'd hate to think the last few months went to waste. I'll continue the supps as they are good for me anyway and obviously low sodium is healthy as is lean protein and low calorie. I definitely don't think that will harm my body...I'm just going to incorporate some fruits and veggies and maybe some healthy grains now and then. Do you think I should skip the douche or is it OK if I douche prior to BD? My mom had all girls and she was a fan of douching so I think this may work for me???

I think the lower protein is pretty important. I would much rather see you eating an alkaline vegetarian diet with an array of fruits and vegetables and healthy grains and eating breakfast, than the protein. BUT that is not my call to make and if you think the lack of protein is making you sick, absolutely eat some. Err on the side of less rather than more. The acidity might be contributing to you not feeling well.
I am not a big fan of douching and it WILL keep you from getting pregnant. If it was me, I would eat a little more next month but try to stay mostly vegetarian based, still stick to the skipping breakfast, low sodium and less cals just like you are saying, and pull out all the stops on getting pg while your body is still thinking times are hard.
The one thing you really can't do is go totally off the diet all together and gain weight because your body will think "times were bad and now they're better" and you might end up worse off (in terms of being boy friendly) than you were to begin with.
I hope this helps in some small way!!!

I agree. The girl diet is hard. My scalp is so dry. I have frequent headaches and I feel weak. My DH says i am even more grouchy than normal.

I did a test diet and had the same issues... I went bakc to eating fruits, veggies, about 6 oz of meat, and still trying to hold breakfast off.... My ph didn't go back up. I am still drinking crystal light but not as much and taking all the herbs/vita. I just started using rephresh and I will see if it works.

Oh Ok...I def think it's the acidic part of the diet. Like I said my lips are very chapped and I have ulcers inside my mouth which is not normal for me The lady at the vitamin store told me ulcers are a sign of an acidic diet (I was pleased to know it's working LOL). I've become forgetful and like I said just snapping at Dh and the kids. I think I can go with eating light salads and fruits and skipping protein as much as possible. maybe my only source of protein will be yogurt or kefir or whatever cheese i put on my sandwich. Then I'll continue with supplements and all. YAAY that sounds like a plan....skipping breakfast is doable for me...hard but doable!

As someone who is new to this sway thing I have to ask what is diet suppose to accomplish?? I know about hormone, pH, low calorie, and Calcium/Mg/Na/K but is there something else that I am missing? Doesn't seem like you would want low nutrition, just low calorie. I ask because I have been eating a diet which (I believe) has changed my hormone levels and is low calorie. I can easily adjust it to make it high Calcium/Mg and low Na/K. For the pH there seems to be a few options to take (baby aspirin, aspartame, etc). I am worried about this girl diet?? Any thoughts??

I haven't even started this diet but reading this makes me very uneasy:( I think I'm going to be terrible with diet after potentially not getting preggo the first try:( I'm really getting myself psyched up for having 4 boys...it's most likely going to happen cause I just can't do a diet that is this strict for very long....I can see why AS says to BD throughout so you get pregnant quickly. I think I will most likely do that.

I am starting the diet tomorrow. I know I am going to find it so hard. I will be majorly concentrating on the diet and sups and just bed through ovulation (I will be on Clomid which I can't afford to waste with missing the darn egg altogether). I'm hoping that concentrating really hard on the diet will compensate for the timing. I eat lots of salt and potato normally it's no wonder I have three boys.

I think that is 100% the right thing to do esp. with Clomid.
If you have a lot of CM, you ~might~ want to take an antihistamine to dry up that CM when you BD through O! But Clomid can dry up CM in some people so make sure you actually need it before you take it.

The diet works - of all the things out there that have mixed results like timing and pH, we KNOW the diet does help and we even know some of the reasons why it makes evolutionary sense (unlike with timing, which I have never been able to come up with a single scientific reason why it would be true.). IHMO, it's better to go with the one thing that has been proven to work than waste time chasing after things that don't. I'm :fx: for you Doula.

Well there are at least two schools of thought on this idea. The French Gender Diet is based around the idea that high cal/mag and low pot/sodium sway blue and so if you believe in that diet then no, you wouldn't want necessarily low nutrient (although the FGD is pretty low nutrient in a lot of ways). The IG diet took this further and encorporated the French Diet into a highly acidic diet as well and then later added some stuff from "my" diet and this diet is very very restrictive.
The "low-everything" diet that I "developed" (I mean I hardly developed anything, I did some research and wrote up a few diet suggestions LOL) based on the Trivers-Willard Hypothesis, the Maternal Dominance Hypothesis, the Oxford Study, and Elissa Cameron's blood glucose research, is based around the idea that moms in best physical condition, with high testosterone and good blood sugar levels, have more sons and in declining physical condition (i.e. losing weight), with low testosterone and low blood sugar, have more daughters. So for that diet, you want to eat less protein, less fat, less sodium, n and less calories overall, and yes, you do want to aim for lower nutrients to a certain extent and avoid megadoses of vitamins, but the lower protein, fat, and calories is much more important than the nutrients (through food) are. (so for example, no limiting potassium or trying to make yourself acidic, fruits and veg. in moderation are fine, and cheating now and then is allowed). The low protein/fat/calories are not dangerously low and I strongly urge people to drop timing and get pregnant as quick as possible anyway.
When people try to do all the diets at once, it does get very restrictive but the good news is, you don't HAVE to do all the diets. You can focus on one diet or another and that is FINE. They all sway. I think the problem that arises is when you are planning a sway it's very easy to think, "Oh, I'll jsut avoid all the "bad" foods and have a "perfect" sway," but in the real world, it's a lot tougher to do. The thing I really don't want people to do is start out superstrict on diet only to find that they can't stick to it, and give up after a couple months, because that is a recipe for a failed sway - you sent the message to your body that times are hard but then suddenly started eating a lot more again. It would be so much better to start off less strict on diet and then give yourself a place to cut back if you really want to, if you're doing a lot of other things to sway (which all make it tougher to get pg) OR to hit it hard on diet for 6 weeks and then pull out all the stops and get pregnant the first month of TTC.

That is the type of swaying diet I LOVE - hard but doable. Good luck and I hope you feel better really soon.!!!
