Girl potty shot??? Please let me know!

Hi everyone,

had my 20 week scan at 19 + 3 and got this potty shot.

The tech said maybe a girl but she couldn't be sure.

Can you please have a look and let me know what you think?

It does look like a girl, but i would not be completely happy with the quality of the pics, they are so dark and if the leg bones were more visible it would have been better.

The tech didn't look for very long and didn't sound certain which is why I'm looking for reassurance!

I've been googling (really shouldn't!) and came across quite a few occasions where people have been told girl in scan but it came out boy! Parts were hiding somehow!

Surely if she couldn't find any male parts its defo a girl? Or maybe I should pay for a gender scan to be sure haha!

I'm not a fan of this angle as I find it can be deceiving. It is probably a girl but I'd ask the Dr. if s/he could take another peak for reassurance.

Really Lovemy4, thanks for your reply. I don't get anymore scans now..this was taken at NHS 20 week scan (at 19 weeks 3 days) so if I want reassurance id need to pay for another private scan.

Do you think there is a possibility it may be a boy? I'm thinking I may well pay for another scan to see as I felt she was very quick and not very certain! She said she couldn't really see anything that would make her think boy so she thinks girl??!

I don't have a preference at all however I have another child and really want to know for sure so I can get my house organised! Thanks x

I would guess girl, I have had 3 boys and none of their scans have looked like that!

It's *probably* a girl. But if if were me- I would pay for an elective scan. Especially since the tech was quick and not completely sure.

I think there is *always* a chance with a shot like that (dark, possibly not the best angle). But I would say your chances of it being a girl are much higher than it being a boy. I hope you get an amazing hamburger shot at the 3D sonogram.

It's not very clear the image to me, but I'd say girl. As Thorz300 said, I have two boys and neither of their scans looked like that...
