Hoping to make my attempt in March for a girl. I'm on a low dose estrogen BCP right now & was planning on staying on for 1 more pack than making our attempt. Now I'm wondering if that's my best plan. I have been on it for 2& a half years so I'm figuring my progesterone must be pretty high at this point. I know it has def killed me drive to DTD (poor DH ).
So opinions please should I stay on it for the progesterone?? I can't track my cycle at all on while on it because it is completely crazy & out of whack. Or do i get off & try to be super careful? If I do add progesterone can I do it with the BCP or at this point is it pretty much not necessary for me. How about Vitex can I take it with the BCP?
Thanks for any opinions!!

it depends which BCP it is. Some are anti-androgenic (such as Cerazette and Dianette) so will lower all the sex hormones and lowers SHBG (that enables the body to use them)
then again, fertility can take time to return after coming off the BCP and you might not ovulate for a while/regularly after stopping it
one theory is that the lowered hormones will last a cycle or two (although the lowered SHBG might last longer). Although on some other forums they have found that symptoms of higher T levels (such as acne/hirsutrism) return "instantly" and worse, in some cases, than pre-BCP.

Thanks for the response rainbowflower! I'm on loloestrin but I've decided I'm getting off. I just cant take it anymore. For months I've felt pregnant & taken a ton of tests but I'm not.
Its been so frustrating to be constantly emotionanauseousutiredrd & every other prego symptom for no reason. So I'm done we will just have to be super careful cause my sway plan is NOT in place enough.
I would love to hear yopinionsions on progesterone cream. I have some but I'm afraid to take it with the increase riskmiscarriageiage. opinionsions, experiences or advice would be mappreciatedated!
Thanks again!

I don't know for certain that there is anytihng magic about high progesterone and swaying pink. I haven't seen any studies proving that personally.
I think it's about lowering androgens (all the sex hormones) as a whole or the balance between them. The progesterone might not work unless you're oestrogen dominant in the first place, and I think it's a tricky one to mess with as you would have to stay on it until 12 weeks after the placenta has taken over hormone production, also with the cream you have to use exactly the same amount each time and it can be difficult to measure it out... personally I'd give it a miss unless you know you need it for a luteal phase defect or something (and even then, you have alternatives in the form of vitex/B6)

OK I have been really back & forth with it. Think I may just skip it.
Thanks so much for your response!!

agree with rainbow totally
I find the evidence for progesterone sway pink to be sketchy at best and no evidence that trying to artificially raise progesterone for swaying tto be nonexistent.
