Hello!

Hi Strawberrymom. Nice to see an October group!

I'm feeling a bit nervous at the moment. I tested again on Wednesday and the line was really strong, but I'm still not due my period until the weekend and I won't relax until I've definitely missed it.
I haven't been to the doctor yet, I won't go until I'm about 5 weeks as their urine tests aren't very sensitive and they don't do blood tests.

How are you feeling? Any symptoms? My boobs get sore every now and again in waves, which is new, I never usually get sore boobs in pregnancy.

Hi Pangea!
I am nervous too as af is not due until the 2nd, but the blood test made me a little more confident. If your line is dark that is a great sign. My ob/gyn didn't want to see me until 8 weeks! so I called my primary care dr for a test.
I was suprised how early symptoms started. Boobs aren't sore but definitely fuller. Crazy tired and getting night naseau (at least the boys are in bed).

Hello!

Hi there and welcome! Sorry I missed your post on my crappy mobile (it can skip pages). I'm thinking we all are hoping for/ swayed girl so far? I ate a big burger (although vegetarian) and fries when I got my bfp. Now I am trying to be super healthy with the eating- no more white bland food-yay! Anyone have cravings yet?

Hi katietatie, welcome! For some reason I can only see your post now, it didn't show up when I posted originally.

Hi Kiara! Welcome!

Is anyone else getting cramping? I've been getting cramps all afternoon and I'm worried about it. I'm worrying so much this pregnancy, and then I'm worrying about the possible bad effects of the worrying!

Strawberrymom it's taking me a while to get used to eating normally! I'm trying to wean myself off the diet slowly. I tried to make myself some toast after my BFP but I couldn't eat it as it tasted so salty! I'm trying to be really healthy now too, and I'm wondering if that's what is giving me cramps.

Hi! I am having some cramps today too, not alot but a little bit. I have always heard that its normal but still i got a little bit worried. I had a few mc before we had or dd so I was thinking about that. I dont think you need to worry:) Are you all hoping for girls? im hoping for a boy , but ofcourse a girl would be welcome too:)

Congratulations on the pos Kiara! I'm glad to have a girl mom on here so I can ask for advice when I (hopefully) get mine.
I know what you mean about everything tasting salty Pangea. I went out for my favorite soup last night and couldn't finish it because of the salt taste.
I have had a little cramping but also some gas, lol, so not that worried. My doc said it's normal when you have been pregnant before and actively tried to conceive for symptoms to be earlier/ more pronounced.

I went in for blood work today!

:poas: I also tested AGAIN this morning at home (still can't believe I'm finally pregnant), and it was my darkest line so far! AF is due this weekend, and I am so excited for it not to come. :fingers:

I'm definitely feeling tired. I have been so sleepy for a few days now! I have some slight twinges of pain every so often, but it's nothing bad. I also have a constant stomach ache. It's nothing terrible, but it's constantly there. I haven't been sick though, which is good.

This is my fourth baby. I know I am going to show faster, but I swear my pants already feel snug! Maybe I just put on a couple pounds.

Congrats everyone!

I think I'm feeling like everyone else, just nervous and hoping the bean'll stick. I think it's just because I can't help but read all the sad threads that I'm so paranoid.....

I got my BFP on Jan 28, but my dr or midwives don't do blood tests to confirm. But I've done a few IC's and a few FRER's, and will do a few more over the next week.....I'm sure I'm preggo but I'm just scared of early losses. I'm not sure I'm gonna breathe easy for awhile!

I've definitely missed my usual AF, lol, but that wasn't hard since my LP's only around 10-11 days. Doesn't make me worry any less about an early loss. :P

Having on and off nausea, not throwing up yet but nothing much appeals. I'm trying very hard not to snack constantly since I'm sure the pounds will pack on like mad this time around.

LP...you got your bfp Sept 28th? You growing an elephant or something? LOL

I want to be due in October so bad but I don't know yet! Lots of +tests but some whacky bloodwork. I can join next week.

I have a dizzy head but thats about it! My AF is not even due till Tuesday. This will be my 5th baby, I have 4 boys :)

xokatiekatie- I am feeling the snug pants too. Fortunately I lost so much on the diet, I have pants in every size.
Welcome LacePrincess. I didn't have blood tests with my 1st 2 sons and with this one they only checked for hcg not the amount-grr. The dr said that I had already did the work for them by checking hpt over days for a darker line.
harleyquinn- I'm hoping to see you stick around in here. October is a great month!

How long is everyone waiting to tell people? I want to wait until I know gender and hopefully can get the MaterniT21 test- so 11-12 weeks. My family knows I was on a diet and figured if I tell them now that I found it too restrictive and was starving (true) then they'll just figure I am getting bigger because of that. Last time with DS2 no one seemed to care and I think that people might look down on this one as 2 is seen as "normal". We'll see...

Pangea
February 2nd, 2013, 08:07 AM
Welcome Laceprincess! Good luck harleyquinn, lots of positive tests sounds good, hope the bloodwork sorts itself out and that you'll be staying around.

I'm going to wait as long as possible before telling people. My family know I was on the diet, but I did tell them that I was only giving it another month and then I was giving up. They live far away anyway so I hardly see them. I'll probably tell them before I tell everyone else.
My in laws live nearby and they don't know about the diet, I want to keep it from them for as long as possible. My MIL doesn't want me to have anymore, she's always going on about it so she won't be happy for us.
I've told my best friend already, she's 9 weeks pregnant at the moment and she told me as soon as she found out, so I rang her the day I got my BFP!

I don't know if I want to find out the gender. I think it would be better if I know before the birth, but I think I want to find out as late in the pregnancy as possible so I don't have to spend a large part of my pregnancy feeling disappointed if it's a boy.

OMG OOPS!!!
Hahahaha good catch. Jan 28. Yaaaaah, obviously was tired posting that.......

I'm kind of dreading telling anyone, tbh. I've only told my best friend because she's ttc, and that was hard since she's having fertility issues. :(

I really don't want to tell my family for awhile, not until I really have to (like when I'm obviously showing), as I just don't want to hear the snide remarks since no one we know has more than 3 kids. And if it's boy #4 we'll never hear the end of it either. Sigh.

I think we'll try to wait as long as we can. We have told our parents and siblings though, and I've shared with a couple close girl friends of mine. I don't know how long we can hide it though because I'm sure to get big quickly. Maybe beginning of the second trimester?

How's everyone feeling?? No morning sickness here. Stomach pains have gone away!! I seem to be coming down with a cold though. Sore throat and runny nose, ugh!

strawberrymom
February 3rd, 2013, 05:59 AM
I have been getting some migraine headaches but the nausea is mild at least. Also I have been so tired that I have let the boys watch more tv than they should. It's the easy way out but I just don't have the energy at the moment to play forts and caves.

Sorry about the cold xokatiekatie. Hope you feel better soon.

Pangea
February 3rd, 2013, 06:18 AM
My cramps have gone now too, no morning sickness yet. I'm very bloated, although that could be something to do with eating salt again.
Hope the cold get's better soon katie. Strawberrymom hope the migraines ease up and that you get more energy soon. I haven't been feeling more tired yet, but I was very tired with my last pregnancy so expecting it to start soon.

I tested again this morning with a clearblue digital with conception indicator, it said pregnant 2-3 weeks, which is exactly what it should be seeing as I'm 15/16dpo. So that's reassuring.

xokatietatie
February 3rd, 2013, 08:07 AM
No sign of AF!!! I've been worried it would still show. I really don't feel like I need to test again, but I've never tried one of those digi tests and I want to. Maybe I can convince DH to buy me one anyway. :giggle:

Hello everyone! Are you planning on doing early ultrasound? I want to but im not sure what week. Around week 6-7 it should it should be possible to see the heart beat , shouldnt it?

I wanted to be sure of the pregnancy but didnt have any more tests at home so took a ovulation test and , I have never seen a more positive test :) Just hope the baby will stay in there. Congratulations to all of you!!

Pangea
February 4th, 2013, 04:39 AM
I would love an early ultrasound, there's a place near me that does them for €99, but I can't justify the money when I'll get a scan a few weeks later for free.
I had a scan at 6 weeks with DS2 because I was having pains in my side and they needed to rule out ectopic, and it was very reassuring to see his little heart beating.

strawberrymom
February 4th, 2013, 05:58 AM
My dr has done an ultrasound with both my boys so am assuming I will get one this time too. It won't be until 8 weeks though. With ds2 I did have one at 7 weeks and saw heartbeat then. Not until I have the MaterniT21 test at 10/12 weeks will I feel truly relaxed about it all.

xokatietatie
February 4th, 2013, 07:09 AM
My earliest ultrasound with DS1 and DS2 was around the beginning of the second trimester. With DS3 I had one done earlier for the same reason as Pangea. I was cramping and bleeding, so they wanted to make sure I was okay. I had low hormone levels with him, so I ended up being put on progesterone suppositories. I had to do them twice a day for the entire first trimester and was on bed rest due to the bleeding and pain. I wouldn't wish it on anyone!! That's why I had blood work done Friday. They wanted to go ahead and check me out as a precautionary measure. As much as it gave me comfort to have an ultrasound done early, I would rather be healthy enough to not need one until 13 weeks like with the other two. I will call my office in a couple hours for my results. Fingers crossed that everything looks good! The weekend came and went and AF never showed, so I am feeling quite happy today. Everyone feeling okay?

Gas?? Girl...every pg gets worse with that symptom. Its like a burning? And then you feel crampy and weird and if you lay down it gets better but the minute you get up, its worse? YES. I know exactly what you are talking about.

I'm still waiting to hear if I belong here or not. I'm spotting but have my appt tomorrow. Feeling quite nervous about it all. Does anyone know what is the earliest they can do an ultrasound to see anything??

And wannagirl, it does get better as time goes on, but this time around, I swore I was going to google remedies because I refuse to suffer like that again. Maybe like papaya enzyme or something? There just HAS to be SOMETHING to put us out of our misery..its truly awful.

I went in for my blood work today. I couldn't remember my numbers from Friday's blood work so I asked if they could tell me again when I was there. She told me beta hcg was 82 and progesterone was 18.1 on Friday. I wasn't even 4 weeks yet. She said those numbers are good! I'll find out today's numbers tomorrow afternoon.

katie- Yay on the bloodwork!
Welcome wannagirl21 and my three sons. Yes on the gas situation. My 3 year old keeps saying "mommy tooted"- sounds so much better that way. I was reading that it is caused by progesterone increase so I guess it is technically a good thing. Also it said foods with magnesium and drinking water can help.
My drs. called today and said that they have done the Maternit21 test for patients so I am excited I don't have to search that out. Are there any other "mature mommas" on here?

Thank you all for your answers:) Im not sure exactly when I had my last af . I used to be really good checking that but with a lot of months trying and then a big pause, I forgot the date. Im thinking about taking and early us in week 7 maybe, so it would be possible to see the heart and see how many weeks exactly.

Do you feel nausea yet? So far I only had a little and I am really hoping I wont get like my last pg. With my girl I was throwing up everyday for 5 months.

February 5th, 2013, 04:52 PM
I am of the "mature" group. LOL. I will be 40 in a few months... I don't notice the gas much, and don't remember that from my other pregnancies either, or at least not painful.

As far as MS goes, I am still too early for that, but if beign preggo with a girl and MS are tied together, I hope I get it tons!

When do you go for your first dr visit if you haven't yet?

I'm feeling pretty good so far, but with my second boy I had pregancy sickness all day for 9 months I was sicker than a dog with him and my first boy I wasn't sick one time. So for me it's hard to tell right now all O know is I hope I don't get it like ds2 that was a nightmare.

Yay! There are quite a few of us in here.

I am going to find out whenever I can, but I don't know if my doc does the MaterniT thing or not. I have my first doctor's appt tomorrow, which I am sure will consist of peeing in a cup and them telling me that I am preggo. My doctor will only see me til 12 weeks though as she only does GYN, then she refers me to another for OB. I guess I will find out more once I go to that doctor.

I don't have any symptoms yet, other than tingly boobs occasionally, but then I think that is in my head. I just stopped nursing my son in November, so I don't know if that will impact those symptoms or not.

We aren't telling people IRL yet either, except I told my mom and my bestie. She (my friend) is also TTC... I dread telling work. We are going through a lot of changes at work and I don't want this to impact my job or make them think that I can't handle things, kwim?

As far as telling everyone else, people will think we are nuts. This will be #4 for us and people just assumed we were done at 3. People just don't have that many kids anymore.

Strawberrymom, going from 2-3 didn't seem to change a lot for us. That's me speaking though and not DH...he might have a different story. Our others are in school already though so for me, they were able to help out. Now that we are going from 3 to 4 I am a bit nervous as our youngest will be 2 when this one is born.

I'm going to find out. I think I worked it out that I can get a nub beginning of April, and a gender scan at the end of April. Going to 2-3 was easy for me but the only hard part was my DS2 would wait until I was nursing DS3 then would tell me everything he wanted, drinks, snacks, etc.

Yes I think we should do this too. And maybe whether we swayed or not and what we are hoping for?

harleyquinn
February 6th, 2013, 10:30 PM
I think its different for everyone because it ALL depends on what kind of baby you get. For me, 1-2 was a bit rough because DS1 is high maintenance. Going from 2-3 was easy breezy. Going from 3-4 was a bit harder because DS4 was the absolute most nightmare baby you could ever imagine (I don't think he took a "real" nap till he was one year old...omg!)...and all mine were under 6 years old. LOL.

I'm really not even thinking about finding out gender. I'm just going with the flow. I prefer to analyze if I feel cramping left or right, determining if leg hair gives any clue, if heartburn and the ring test tell me anything ;) I just don't know how I will feel...right now, its so early we don't even really feel pregnant yet, so give me that belly and I will see if I want to know who is inside :)

I haven't decided whether I'm going to find out or not. I probably will though because I don't usually have the patience for surprises!

I'm really worrying this pregnancy. I got this pain in my arm yesterday, I used to get it when I was on the pill on the week where you take no pills, and I get it sometimes before my period and before I go into labour. I think it's related to progesterone dropping so now I'm freaking out.
I have no hpts so I did an OPK yesterday which was a really dark positive, then I did another one this morning and it was only as dark as the control line. So I was freaking out again, then I did another one with SMU (which I'd only held for about an hour) and it was darker than ever.

I hate these early weeks, I wish I could just go to sleep and wake up at my 12 week scan.

I hate these early weeks, I wish I could just go to sleep and wake up at my 12 week scan.

I'm sorry your worried. If it helps I get stronger positives with SMU. I'm worried about this pregnancy too. I just had a miscarriage last month and I didn't even have a cycle before I conceived. But I have to into this pregnancy believing ill get to hold a soft wiggingly bundle at the end of it. I just have too.

Ill start the due date list if everyone wants to tell me
1)When they are due
2) if thy swayed
3) what they're hoping for

If anyone has already done this I apologize!! I couldn't find it.

So my due date is October 18th (I think) and I was so going to sway pink but got pregnant before I could start!!

katie-Did they give any indication what they were checking for? Checking out things online I think your hcg levels were right inline and if there was a problem there, I think they would have said something when they told you that #. My guess would be that it has something to do with a nutrient level being low. I am wishing you the best.

Good luck at the doc's Katie. I hate how they do stuff like that sometimes as it just makes you worry...

I just had my first doctor's appointment and they confirmed pregnancy with the urine sample. They've never given me a blood test to confirm in any of my pregnancies... She said everything looks good and cervix was nice and long. She said to come back in 2 weeks for the 6 week scan to see the HB, but the next available US was the 28th so it's closer to 3 weeks away, but I was thinking while I don't want to wait longer, it might be better as I would be crushed if it were too soon and we didn't see a HB.

By my calculations, I will be due on 10/18. I was swaying for a girl, but fell off the diet around the Holidays. I still have a couple of very weak sway factors there, but we are definitely hoping for a girl.

I have an appointment Monday morning I get my blood drawn and then ill get it done again in 48 hours. I ask her then if I could book an ultrasound around the first week of March (so between 7 and 8 weeks for me) I really want to see a viable baby with a heartbeat!!! Anyone have sickness yet? Great to see you here Peb! And welcome ICB3!

Mommymachine and Katie, I hope you're both feeling better soon.

Kiara I had a scan at 6 weeks 1 day wit DS2 and I saw the heartbeat, but I have heard of other people having scans that early and not seeing a heartbeat. I'm considering an early scan this time, but I think I'll wait until at least 7 weeks.

I think I'm starting to feel a bit sick today. Half of me is glad because it's a good sign, and the other half is dreading the sickness ahead! It seems to be starting a week earlier with each pregnancy, 7 weeks on DS1, 6 weeks on DS2 and now 5 weeks. It was slightly less severe on DS2 than DS1 so hopefully that's a trend that will continue.

My Three Sons
February 10th, 2013, 08:40 AM
I haven't been feeling anything yet, but maybe a tad queaziness, but then I start to think it is just in my head. I hope I start "feeling" more pregnant soon to put my mind at ease. I did buy another cheapy test and the line was darker, so that made me feel better.

I am waiting til 6w 6 days til my scan. While I am anxious to get it, I think it'll be better to wait til close to 7 so I won't be disappointed if it is too soon for the HB.

That's like us, we've just told a few close friends, parents and sisters. Everyone else will be much later.

On a side note, I had already gotten rid of all of our newborn clothes before DH agreen to TTC again. I thought it would be good to pick up some sales since the baby will be due in October and the winter stuff is on clearance. I went today after work and just couldn't bring myself to get anything pink or blue. I felt I was jinxing myself, even though I can return later in the year if needed. I know I'd be heartbroken bringing back pink stuff in October... So my compromise is I went and bought some new pink undies for myself. LOL Trying to force the pink up to my uterus. LOL

I know! The practical side says to go on and take advantage of the sales. I can get super cheap stuff. I saw the most adorable dresses that would be perfect for Christmas, but I would be so sad to have to return them.... I think it's a much safer bet for me to pay more later this year.

I've told my parents, sisters and a couple of friends. Going to wait until at least 12 weeks, if not longer to tell everyone else.

I'd be too scared to buy any girls clothes before I know what I'm having. But then I think, well I didn't buy any girls clothes when I was pregnant before and I ended up having boys, maybe I ought to this time and I'll be more likely to have a girl!
I know this girl who was in hospital having her 4th boy, and the woman in the bed beside her had 3 boys already and had only packed pink clothes, even though she didn't know what she was having. She said she was putting pink on the baby no matter what. She had a girl!

I don't even like pink, If I have a girl I'll probably be putting blue on her more often!

The day we found out we were expecting DH and I went and bought the cutest baby blanket. It's very gender neutral, and I am in love with it! I have also bought a couple gender neutral sleepers -- one duckie, one froggy, and one that will be perfect for next Christmas. It's red and gray striped and has a little reindeer on it. I found it on the clearance rack in 3 month size and couldn't resist grabbing it. Aaaaand, I am so ashamed to admit that I have bought some girl things!!! I love shopping at Target (it's more of a sick addiction than a love). Every single time we would go in there I would walk past the baby clothes, even long before I was pregnant. There was this little 3 piece set for a girl that I just loved. I would stop and stare at it every single time I went in there. The day I found out I was pregnant DH and I made a stop at Target and I was broken-hearted when I couldn't find the outfit anymore. We shopped around a little and as we were walking to the front of the store I happened to glance over and I spotted ONE outfit on the clearance rack. I said to DH I didn't care that we didn't know the sex yet, I HAD TO HAVE THAT OUTFIT!!! He said to just go for it.

I haven't told anyone but dh and don't plan to for a while. I thought about telling my brother as he, my sil and their daughter are coming to live with us soon. I am worried if I tell him though that he might put that off and they really need to be here for safety and health reasons. They were supposed to be here a few months ago, so I bought some little girls outfits for the niece which are now too small for her, so I have a couple girls outfits inadvertently. I did buy some used newborn cloth diapers last weekend because they were such a great deal. Pangea, I am like you- not a big fan of pink. If a girl she will wear some boy hand-me downs, but also be spoiled by my fairy godmother (closest thing I have to a mom). Probably lots of purple.
katie- Target is an addiction! I think they need a support group for people.
My biggest symptom is being incredibly tired. My nausea has been mild so far although I am entering the 6th week and they say that is when things can kick in.

Those numbers are awesome Katie! I know that put your mind at ease...

My doc doesn't do blood draws, or at least she never has for me. I've taken 3 tests and all have gotten darker though. I did fight the urge to buy another today.

I need to go through our stuff to see what exactly I have. I know I got rid of most newborn stuff, but my SIL got some of it and may send some things back when she is done with them.

I have felt just a touch queazy on occasion, mainly if I am starting to feel hungy. I am only 4 weeks though, 5 on Friday so I think it's a bit early to feel much. I have been going to the bathroom a lot more, but not at night yet.

Only my DH, my mom and dad, and a friend know. That's all we are telling until 12 weeks, then we might tell my MIL or we might wait. As for everyone else, we will be waiting until June. I have two June babies (DS1 and DS3) and we always have a big family party for both of them. What makes it perfect is we hopefully will be finding out gender in June so we can say "Surprise we are pregnant and it's a ?!?!?" And then it will go public. Both DH and I just feel more comfortable waiting.

mommymachine try not to worry, the next bloods will give you a better idea. What dpo did you get a bfp? Some tests can detect levels as low as 12, so if you had those numbers doubling every 48-72 hours 138 doesn't sound that low for 18dpo.

I'm feeling really sick now. I had myself convinced that I wasn't going to get bad morning sickness this time, but not only do I have it, but it started a week earlier than I was expecting. I started feeling nauseous on Sunday and today is the first day that I've been vomiting.

Welcome. I think everyone has moments where they feel their sway isn't good enough. Swaying is such a personal, individualized process there just isn't a perfect way. I figure at this point what's done is done and I can't change it now, so I'm ok with it all.

Thanks for that. You are right...what's done is done...my husband keeps telling me that, too. I'm just filled with such overwhelming anxiety that I'm not sure i am able to just sit back and enjoy it just yet. I'm afraid I messed up my sway. My ph was crazy High and impossible to lower. I did lime douche and that helped...BUT...that only tells me my ph down low...not up inside where it really counts. We tried to do O+12 but what I thought was a temp rise wasn't fully until the next day so I'm almost positive we did it on O day...which is how I got my other two boys. Atomic, and others, have reassured me they don't think timing is a factor too much so that helps...but thats only if the lime douche truly kept my ph low, right? Ahhhhhh. This is driving me bonkers! I guess if anything ill be beyond pleasantly surprised if this is a girl, but I just want to be able to enjoy this pregnancy.

Enough about me, how is everyone feeling? I'm cramps at times and beyond tired. Thats about it!

Good luck on the US, Kiara!

I didn't have a ton of ms with my boys, but I did feel sick, just wasn't vomiting. I've felt a tad queazy with this one here and there, but nothing that made me throw up.

I am starting to get worried about telling work. We are going through some pretty major changes at work, pretty much all year. They won't be happy, I am sure, expecially with me taking the time off for leave. I am able to take off 12 weeks total, so I was thinking of starting leave 2 weeks prior to my EDD because I know I will be ready to rest before the baby, and if so, that would put me out of work through Christmas. I am just worried though about taking off through Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Welcome and congrats!! I have 3 boys as well, and I'm also hoping for #4 to be my girl. I think we might do an early gender scan as well. I've always done it around 22 weeks which is when my doctor likes to schedule it, but I found a place that does scans not too far and it's not expensive. A friend of mine went there and found out the sex of her baby pretty early!

Thanks! Hope we both get girls this time! My OB's office offers a gender scan at 16 weeks for only $50. I'm going to be out of town until right before I hit 17 weeks, I know it's just a few days but it'll feel like an eternity waiting! Oh well, at least we'll be at Disney so that should keep my mind occupied!

Hi everyone! Did you have a lot of morning sickness when you were pregnant with your boys? With my girl i had A LOT. I was vomiting everyday for like the whole pregnancy.

I have 3 boys and all the pregnancies as far as morning sickness have varied. From nothing at all to extreme and almost hospitalized because I lost so much weight.

I am SO tired all the time. There have been times I just feel like crying because I'm so tired! Well my OB called this morning to say my bloodwork from last week came back and I'm very anemic! Ugh. Got my iron this afternoon, hope that gives me a much needed kick in the pants and some energy!

Hi ladies, mind if I join you?

I went high tech and just completed a frozen embryo transfer of a beautiful grade A baby boy blastocyst, and was successful (obviously).

My first beta at 10dp5dt (15dpo) was 216, and my second beta at 13dp5dt(18dpo) was 832. That second beta was yesterday.

Based on online calculators, I am 4 weeks and 5 days and due on October 23rd.

As you can see from my siggy, I've kinda done it all and seen it all. I had a miscarriage, and then my son, then a miscarriage, then my oldest daughter, then another miscarriage, then my middle daughter, then got my tubes tied...got divorced...then remarried to a wonderful man with no kids of his own. Then I got my tubes untied...tried for 2 years with fertility treatment to no avail...then did IVF to get our daughter (my youngest). Then I miraculously got pregnant on my own last June but it turned out to be ectopic... two IVFs and one FET later, here I am pregnant with our baby boy, my 5th and last, baby.

I am hopeful that my vast experience can be useful to some of you while we wait for our precious little ones!

I ahd an absolute perfect pregnancy with my first boy, and second boy I was sicker then a dog and it was a nightmare so I think everyone and every pregnancy is so different but lately I have been noticing women have been getting more sick with boy's then girls which is weird because OWT say's you get sicker with girls so it's reallly hard to say. It's gonna be hard for me to tell with my third which I'm prregnant with right now cuz i was sick with one boy and not the other so the guessing game is intense for me and driving me nuts!!!!

Hi everyone! It's fun to see some new members every time I come back! I've still been having a rough time emotionally with this pregnancy. I'm feeling full of regret and spend my days scouring the Internet trying to prove shettles wrong...all because I messed up my O +12 timing. Praying for these feelings to go away!!

Is everyone experiencing dull cramping? I've had it for three or do days now and recall it from my past pregs, I think. It's normal, right?

Lld2006 - I have been having lots of dull aches and cramping to, seems to be more than what I had with the boys so hoping its not a bad sign. No spotting though and breasts still growing at a super fast rate  so hopefully all is well. I think i'm just a bit more aware after the miscarriage I had in Sept. I'm also exhausted as well but thankfully my boys are a bit older and 1 is at school and 1 at preschool so I've been having naps on days I'm not working.

That reminds me to get some prenatal vitamins. I brought some last week but I got the wrong ones by mistake.

My pregnancies were pretty much identical with the boys so it will be interesting how this one goes.

kiara- Did you get a pic for the Ramzi's theory? Hope all went well.
mommymachine- Are you going back for another blood test? I am waiting to hear on how you are doing.
MamaK4- I am sooo super jealous that you are going to Disney. I went when I was pregnant with both my boys and have gone with them since too. I just started thinking about it the other day, but don't think my hubby can get the time off.
As far as morning sickness I had none with DS1, and quite a bit with DS2 for the first trimester. So far I am queasy but not full out vomiting.

Kiara, I can't believe they couldn't get any pics for you! They know that people want some to take home. She should've been nicer to you!

Lld - I have been kinda crampy at times too. I don't remember this with the other pregnancies, but I think I must've just forgot.

Honestly, being on the boards sometimes makes me worry more because I read about people having miscarriages and it makes me worry. I am trying no to though.

DH told our kids we were having a baby... I wanted to wait til after the US next week and see the HB, just in case.

I too am totally wiped out. Ex.haust.ed. Beat... I can't wait til I'm in the second trimester and can start to relax a bit though.

I have the full on bloat too. Seriously could pass for 5 months along at times. My pants are tighter and belly bigger. I know it's not the baby yet, but I seem to bloat up fast.

I had an ultrasound yesterday. Was supposed to be 6w6d, I was excited to put the Ramzi Theory to the test. Measuring 5w5d, too early to see the HB yet. My OB said if I'm certain of my dates then I need to be mentally preparing for a miscarriage. There is no way I'm a week off. LMP was Jan 2nd. O (based on CM) was Jan 16th. We DTD the 14th-17th and not again until after a BFP. BFP came on Jan 27th. So now I just have to sit, wait, and try not to worry too much. I go back next Wednesday for an ultrasound to check.

strawberrymom

MamaK4- I hope that is not the case for you :fx: That seems highly insensitive for the dr to say that to you. There is always the chance of human error, and until the next test I think they should be supportive and not causing stress. I hope all goes well next week.
Kiara- It sounds like you got a crappy doctor too! At least you found out in the beginning, but ugh.
katie- Zofran should do the trick. I had to take it one time I had this virus and was nonstop sick and seriously thinking I might die (and I tend to underplay whenever I am sick normally). It worked pretty much right away. I had some bad ms with DS2 and it is no picnic, but at least they say it tends to mean a healthy little one.
I too am felling the heat fluctuations (winter here). I walk around all day putting a sweater on, taking it off, putting it back on... I just can't find the right medium. Is everyone sleeping through the night? I am exhausted and falling asleep sitting up during the day, but I think this bub is trying to get me used to the up all night thing. I want to sleep but there seems to be someone else controlling that now!

My Three Sons
February 23rd, 2013, 10:05 AM
strawberry - I am also exhausted all day! I tend to try to go to bed early since I have to get up early for work, and I usually take the baby up with me when I go, but I've been waking up too and not getting the best rest. I have been going to the bathroom more, but nothing crazy. My biggest complaint right now is I am starting up with a slight cold agian, which makes me get a tickle in my throat, which causes me to cough uncontrollably.

Oh, and smells and thoughts gross me out more so now too. I threw up yesterday for the first time from being grossed out... The other day it was from coughing too hard.

Hey ladies, I'd love to join! I'm due Oct. 15 and didn't sway at all. Wasn't even TTC to be honest, as we have been going to infertility and we gave up a while back. But I would like a boy, to be honest, so that is which way I'm leaning. A girl would be awesome also, though.

I have been sick for about a week now. I'm 6w5d today (I need to make a ticker...) and it's getting progressively worse, but it makes me SUPER HAPPY because I have lost 2 in the past couple of years and I remember thinking, "huh, lucky me- no morning sickness this time" when it was not actually sticking. Anyway, I will say that I was super ill with my DD1 and not so much with DD2, and I have so many friends who were sick with boys, not sick with girls, etc, so don't get worried about gender based on that.

I will also mention that I am 37 so debating a CVS. My DH has crap sperm also (why we couldn't conceive forever and had m/c) so I am trying to weight the options. I know of the risks, but need to just decide.

Sorry to hear of the m/c here, I know how hard that is. I saw a totally empty sac when in for my last loss at 8wks, so I'm pretty nervous about my 8wk u/s on March 7, but it will be what it will be, so I'm staying positive and keeping excited.

And about telling work, I have a new job (of course) and told them so they don't think I'm being slack or weird since I'm exhausted and nauseated most of the day.

Happy to join you all!

Hi Lola! Glad to see you in here. I am 38 so I want testing too. I don't know where you are, but I am going to do the MaterniT21 test. It is a simple blood test so no risk of miscarriage, over 99% reliable, and tests for 3 different trisomys including downs. As a bonus it also does gender. You can have it done as early as 10 weeks. I go in for my 8 wks on March 4th and am nervous/excited. Hope all goes well for you.
MyThreeSons- Yeah, I forgot about the smells. My 17 mo. old's diaper changes have not been helping with that at all. Yuck!

I'm 39 but I won't get any genetic tests done. I just don't want to hear that false test result and be worried for no reason. I told my doc I don't want any tests that won't have something that can be done about it anyway.

My biggest complaint right now is this cough that won't go away. It's that nagging tickle in my throat that comes on suddenly. I've been taking cough drops and hope they are OK, read online that they are, but I hate taking anything while preggo.

Strawberry - the diaper changes are killer! Mix that with the dog smell and three boys running around...well it's just not pretty. LOL

I had a scan today at 6 weeks. Baby's heart rate was 114 and measured perfect. It was a relief since I've had a missed miscarriage between DS1 and DS2.
For Ramzi-I just asked tech what side baby was on and she said rightish. I'm feeling rather deflated. I know it's supposed to be where placenta is but I think that is where baby is so early at 6 weeks. I've already gotten boy vibes too and was right with both boys.

I am beginning to get tired in the afternoon, I woke in the night last night feeling sick and the thought of eating walnuts yesterday wasn't appealing, thats probably about it atm.
When I got my bfp i stopped taking the bee pollen supp and mixed greens powders that I was taking for my sway and I'm sure as a result I now have 2 bloody great cold sores on my top lip ugh!!! I have added the greens and pollen back in and can honestly say that my energy has rocketed again, if baby is alive and going well I will be thanking the supps for an easy 1st tri maybe!! Another reason why I am still cautious is due to having to quite red bleeds just after bfp, just in the morning? So we will see:)

Hi everyone, congratulations to all the newcomers, the list is getting long and it's nice to see some blue swayers to balance things out!

I haven't been feeling up to posting lately as I've been very sick. I was really really bad last week, I thought I was going to have to go into hospital, I was waking up out of my sleep to be sick. I got DH to get me some ketone testing strips and they were nearly at the max reading. I stayed in bed over the weekend, I'm less likely to get sick when I'm lying down, and I was able to keep fluids down. I think I'm rehydrated enough now. I'm feeling a lot better, but still vomiting.

I'm jealous of you girls in America who can get anti nausea drugs prescribed easily. They're very reluctant to prescribe anything here. I have some anti emetics in my cupboard which I was prescribed about a year ago for something else, I'm almost tempted to take them as they are sometimes prescribed in pregnancy.

I've ordered unisom off amazon as I've read that you can take it with vitamin b6 and that it helps and is safe to take. I'm really desperate as I can't function like this, have to take DS1 to and from preschool every day, DH is often away until late at night, I'm supposed to be studying and we're moving house soon, I'm supposed to be packing.

I've had waves of nausea off and on but today is the first day I have felt nausea all.day.long. For now, I'm thankful for it- because my ultrasound is still a whole week away and it's nice to have reassurance that things are progressing. It's totally distracting me from working though. Ugh.

Nice list, ELP!

Pangea, my doctor prescribed some pills for me for ms with my last pregnancy and I remember being upset because insurance said that they would only fill part of the prescription as more were not needed. I remember telling the pharmacist that the policy at the insurance company was obviously determined by a man who had never had ms!

I do have more sickness now that in my previous pregnancies, or at least it seems like it now. I've thrown up a few times already. Plus, my DH kinda makes me sick. LOL When he gets home from work he smells like oil from his work and I can't stomach it.

This cough is literally wearing me down! I cough all day and all night! I even have to leave meetings at work due to it. It's driving me bonkers!

How dare you ...do something so wonderful:wink: Thanks so much! As far as symptoms, most medical sites say they start kicking in around 6 weeks so try not to worry.
I am going to be 8 weeks (!) tomorrow which makes me so happy. Also past 3 days I have bursts of energy so my house doesn't look like a dump now (felt things piling up). Did anyone on here do clomid? I think most of the twins seem to be from that. I am with katie on this one- twins are nice in fantasy but the reality terrifies me.

I only secretly hope for twins so I can increase my chances that at least one would be a girl!
So I am 6 weeks today and my 4 year old told me yesterday...mommy your belly is getting big. Mind you he doesn't even know I'm pregnant! Eek! Am I just gaining weight or is it seriously possible that I could show this early?!? It is my third, but I've never shown before 12 weeks. Yuck.
How did everyone sway on here? Curious!

Hi ladies. Well, I really really hate these first few weeks. They seem endless to me! I'm 5 weeks +4 so thinking I might try to arrange an early scan late next week. Will I be likely to see a HB at 6 weeks +4? I go on holidays Saturday week but would like some reassurance that things are going okay. Could you please add me to the due date list. I swayed girl (only slight sway though!) and think I'm due 28th October. Fingers crossed that everyone stays healthy and happy for the next 9 or so months!

I just had mine and saw the heartbeat at 6w6d. I think there is a great chance you could see it already!

One of my old co-workers had two girls and tried for #3 hoping for their boy. I remember they found out they were having twins, but when they went for the US, they could only see the sex of one of the babies...another girl. My friend was so deflated and thought for sure he would never have a son. They couldn't get another US (this was years ago) and had to wait to the birth. Low and behold, the second twin was their boy!

Hi, add me in please - I'm due oct 31 and swayed pink after 2 DSs. No symptoms yet other than increased appetite but agree Llt2006 I think my stomach is a little larger already! Quite probably because I m hungry and eating more after coming off the girl diet!

I'm also bloated and stomach is looking larger. Partly due to constipation I think. I agree with aussiettc these first week seem endless.

Has anyone else outgrown their bras yet? I think i'll need to go shopping this week, boobs have never grown this quick before.

I also get very nauseas in the afternoon and at night, i'm also working night shift this week which doesn't help.

Twins terrify me too :worry:

Anyone with ultrasounds this week? I have one on Thursday.

Hi everyone! I've been crazy busy at work and its been hell with the fatigue and bit of sickness I have. I've got an u/s on Thursday morning myself- will be 8w2d and nervous because my last pregnancy ended with a missed m/c and the sac was empty. Anyway, I do feel emotional that is for sure. I always do in the 1st tri. Anyone have brown scant spotting? I have no cramps so not really that worried, but don't remember any of this with my other 2- although it was a while ago.

Kiara, I seemed to have dropped mood lately, I was so full of energy on my supps and now I feel almost depressed, flamin hormones lol, cant wait til 2nd tri and hopefully it will pass:)

Lola, I'm pretty sure that the spotting is just probably from a little irritated inside somewhere or maybe a tiny cyst that now has an increased blood flow, I hope it passes quickly for you:) I am so excited for your scan, I pray that there is the clearest heartbeat ever for you xxx

The last few days I have been feeling horrible, no apetite a lot of nausea(that ofcourse gets worse because I cant eat haha) I dont feel like going out anywhere. Sorry i am just complaining but right now I feel a little bit low.
Im starting to think that maybe its another girl becuase of all the nausea lately. But who knows:)I had more nausea with my last baby (girl) than I have with this one but it seems like its gotten worse now.
What do you all eat when you feel nausea? ive already lost 4 kilos in only a couple of weeks.

kiara-Of course it is normal to feel low with normal worries + crazy hormones + whatever sick effects at the time. Plain pasta and toast got me through the nausea. I have also been told cold foods help.
So I had my first appt yesterday and saw my little one. I am measuring exactly as I thought which amazed the dr. ( he kind of chuckled when I said I was 8 wks 4 days and said we'll see). So relieved to see a healthy heartbeat! I go in for bloodwork in 2 more weeks and that takes up to 10 days so I hope to know gender by end of the month. Crazy! So I was feeling stress free finally and then my brother calls and says that he is stepping up his timeline for him and the family moving in with us (which also means I'll probably have to pay airfare). I'm glad they will be here sooner, but a lot of organizing to get their room and our house ready. Just need one day off from it all but of course there isn't time to stop.

Lolainlove, I have heard that spotting in pregnancy is more common with boys, maybe it's a boy. Good luck for your scan!

Strawberrymom congrats on seeing the heartbeat!

Kiara I'm feeling down too. I think the nausea is to blame, I feel like I can't do anything.

I'm tempted to book a private early scan. My first appointment at the hospital isn't until the 8th of April, I'll be 13+3. It's expensive though, €99. We don't really have the money to spare but I would love the reassurance.

Pangea...that is interesting about the spotting possibly meaning boy!?! I spotted a lot w BOTH my boys... I had a gush of clear fluid on sat evening but nothing major so I'm not sure what that was??
My MS is not actual getting sick, but just feeling like it 24/7. YUCK! It just started at 6 weeks. Has it slightly w DS1 then more so w DS2. So not sure if this means anything for me or not.
I'm still exhausted too. Anxiously waiting for 2nd tri to feel better!

Re the spotting, I know that sounds like an OWT but there may be something to it, because boys for some reason are more likely to be placenta previa than girls are (may have to do with Ramsi theory) and this can cause spotting. I think my one pg with twins was B-B because the twin who didn't make it was PP. Had a lot of spotting with that pg and a beautiful boy at the end.

Good luck Lola!

Thanks for the input everyone- that actually makes me excited because I'd love for this baby to be a boy since we have 2 girls (mine from previous marriage) but I just want healthy mostly. The spotting has stopped, it's here and there, but it freaks me out with a history of m/c of course.

Yea- the nausea is pretty hard to deal with especially when working!!! I couldn't care less about anything at work these days and am annoyed when anyone asks me to do anything. Yeah, this is #4 for me and I am pooching out already. I am still wearing my same clothes, but my displaced fat, as I call it, is up above my pants a bit. I know the baby is too small right now to actually be the baby, but I feel my uterus getting bigger and the stuff that is normally there has to go somewhere! Add the bloating and I look several months.

I am so tired. Really tired, can't keep my eyes open tired. It seems like I hit a brick wall around noon, but I am going to bed super early.

My MS isn't too bad now. I think it was worse with DS3, but ask me on a different day and I might have a different answer.

My other major symptom is I am a real b!tch. For reals. I have always gotten mad easy, not crazy mad or anything, but still, and now I go on and on about stuff. I told my boss that I am turning into a b...lol...she didn't negate it. LOL. At least she understands.

On to sex. Nonexistent. Poor DH couldn't keep up when we were TTC, how he can't get any. LOL. Between being tired and just not in the mood, it's just not happenin. He even bought me roses the other day just cuz, and he still didn't get any noogie. Maybe in the second tri...

The doctor I went with prescribed a medicine for nausea but I cant take it because I get soooo tired and like a zombie when I take it. Vitamin b has helped me a lot I think (you never know if its that or something else but I do think its the vitamin b) I take a pill before I go to bed and im better in the morning than I was before. Today I feel better than I have in a long time but yesterday I had a lot of nausea in the morning. So maybe it depens on the day;)

I have mixed genders Lld. The only main differences I noticed , I think?, was with one DD, DD3 ( I have 5) I was so exhausted I could have stayed curled up on the floor even if the house was on fire! I was just freezing and exhausted. And with my 1st DS (I have 4) I never even considered I could be pregnant until he was 12 weeks, and when I looked back for symptoms I could have missed, all I could think was that I was stealing the occasional nap on the odd day. The rest of the pregnancies were pretty similar:)

I still had a little lay down about 1.30pm but was fine for the rest of the day after that. SO I wll take it again in a minute and see if is definitely a help and not just a coincidence!

Lld- I have 2 sons and 2 completely different pregnancies so I am no help there!
ELP- I have never had greens powders but assume it's like a vitamin thing? If so I did notice a change in my energy when I went from a basic prenatal to a complex one with vitamins and minerals.
It is so exciting to hear of everyone going to their doc and looking forward to future updates. I am wondering what everyone really feels about their sway and baby's gender. I truly believe I am having a girl even though I try to think well it could be a boy. I know there is nothing else I could have done (not saying I did every sway tactic, but the ones that were right for me). Most old wives tales point to girl- baking soda, ph test, a what month were your kids born, gender calculator, and Inky's predictor gave me 57% girl. I also think my Ramzis says girl. On the flip side chinese gender prediction says boy and I did have a dream that i gave birth and saw a big wiener looking at me!

I totally think I'm having a boy. And I don't even think its a defense mechanism! My pregnancy is exactly the same as DS1 and DS2 but maybe slightly more nauseous. And I knew with both my boys that I was gonna have a boy. I think I'm gonna wait to find out till the birth like I did with the other two, that way I won't be disappointed once I'm holding that baby! I'm petrified to have another boy (terrible, I know) so I honestly am trying not to think of the baby as either gender. My mind often drifts to girl names but I try to stop immediately as to not get my hopes up. DH thinks girl, but I just can't imagine I could finally get my girl so I guess I deep down feel it is another boy.

In regards to surprise or not, i found out w DS1 at 22 weeks and was so sad. Got over it mostly keeping in my brain that the next could be a girl. DS2 I kept it a surprise and regret that greatly. I was BEYOND depressed when he was born. I felt terrible, but could not stop the major, immediate depression. I think knowing ahead if time could have prevented me from having such terrible GD once he arrived. I had trouble connecting with him for a few weeks. I guess only time will tell how it goes w the third. I will be finding out if and if its a boy I'm not telling anyone to prevent the negative comments I know will happen. People just don't get it and say the most ridiculous things about having thesane gender.

How does everyone feel about their sway? I think I messed up my timing and it is haunting me. I wasn't on the diet and supps for long enough...only 3 weeks. We thought for sure it would take a few months to get pregnant but it was one and done! We DTD on O day...meant to do O+12 but think we did it too early....all after abstaining 14 days. So we will see what God has planned for us.

The ph test is when you test ph of fmu but it is supposed to be done before 6 weeks. (6 and under=girl 7and over=boy).
DH reminded me that with both my boys that I strongly thought I was having a boy. With ds1 I didn't find out until birth and ds2 at 20 weeks. I hope everyone doesn't hate me for saying this, but I never actually experienced gd because I wanted boys for both. It was only after we were "done" that the idea of a girl started to take hold. So maybe that is part of the reason I think I am having a girl?

Im 7 weeks now so too late for that. And for the baking soda test do you just pee in a cup then put a Tablespoon of baking soda in it. If it fizzes boy and no fizz girl?
NAvywife- Welcome! Your a couple days shy of my due date! Looks like theres a bunch of birthday buddy babies! lol

I wouldn't rely on those tests much if you watch them on youtube I saw a couple opposites where one girls test fizzed but had a girl and ones girls did nothing but had a boy. I think thry are hit and miss.

The bakingsoda test shows boy for me everytime, but the ph test is under 7 ..Do I still have a chance of a boy?...:)

We will be very happy for an other girl too, and that would be great for our dd I think.

My ph was somewhere between 4-5 (I think) when I was at my doctor the other day. I don't know anything about a baking soda test though. What is it?

You put one spoon of bakingsoda in a plastic cup (heard it has to be plastic) then you pee in it and if it fizz they say its a boy and if nothing at all happens, girl :-)

Anyone knows if urinary tract infections are more common when you are pregnant with a boy or a girl?(if it has any connection at all)

Anyone have MS throughout the night? I have it, I am not puking but I feel sick to my stomach all night long and cannot get any sleep! I am exhausted! I have no idea what I can do to try and make it better.I do have some throughout the day but it's not as bad as night.

I'd love to know this too! I was at the doc for my 8 week appt on Friday and she said I had a UTI. This is the first I've ever had one and never thought of a connection between that and gender, but I'd love to hear that it leans toward girl!

I do and it'w weird I just feel sick to my stomach but no naseau or puking it's weird and it's off and on through out my day, I found this cool product by standard process which some chiroprater's sale but it's for preganant women with ms and it works like a charm it's a liquod and you put it in water. It's great call around chiropracter's and see if they sale it.

I just thought of another difference I'm pretty sure I noticed in different pregnancies. When carrying a boy my nose runs constantly and I sneeze around 50 times a day! So far this time only a little sneezing at the beginning, I'm honestly hoping it picks up again but I have a feeling its not gonna.
