mothercare used to rent them, i tried one when pregnant with ds1 - didn't like it but then hated labor that time and didn't cope with it but i remember it being a good brand and a fair price

I rented mine through TeNS Medical Services (tens.co.uk) for about £25. I used an Obi the first time and an Elle the second time. They were the same really. Both helped me for a few hours till I hopped in my birth pool. I'll get one again definitely. They let you have it way in advance of your due date and gave you a box ready to send it back after.

I wanted to try one but then I read a lot of people who said it didn't work at all :s I would love to hear some experiences as I would like to avoid epidural last time I got one it was a waste of time and only somewhat took to half my body :( and I have terrible back pain from it now...

obi tens, brilliant only about £30 you can buy new pads in mothercare (for future births/friends) mine's done me twice and about 3 friends only pain relief i had for both ds's can't rate highly enough - very easy to use during labour too!
