View Full Version : I KNOW I'm getting my DG because...

Mum to three girls

Of course I don't know at all and I can't wait to find out. But of course, like anyone else, I'm finding "signs" where ever I can that this a boy. They include :
1) My lack of morning sickness (so different to with the girls)
2) My normal appetite (was sick yet hungry with the girls)
3) My DD1's comment on the day I found out I was pregnant. She got very stern with me and said "Do you have a baby in your tummy Mummy? Tell me the truth and don't be tricky. I hope not because three is enough. Wouldn't it be funny to have a little brother?"

We hadn't said anything to her but she's always been an intuitive wee thing. I lied and told her there was no baby because I thought that an early pregnancy loss (bearing in mind I had two chemicals before this pregnancy) would confuse/upset her.

4) I've just started antibiotics for a UTI (sorry if TMI) and I never had one with my girl pregnancies.

Anyway, I know none of these hold up under scrutiny (and I've a science background so my rational self doesn't believe them) but they're all adding up to an irrational, unproven belief that I'm cooking a boy baby.

Is anyone else as crazy as me??? What kind of symptoms etc make you sure you're getting your DG?

I can't be as positive as you about what gender it is unfortunately because DD3 was different from the almost identical pregnancies of DD1&2 which had me thinking she was a boy.
I have had some seriously different symptoms this time around that have me hopeful....
Have had the worst morning sickness every afternoon for about 8 weeks now. With all three girls, it was mild between weeks 9-12 and it was earlier in the day.
My appetite is huge at the moment and am obsessed with meat and burgers (big mac's...sigh) and salty foods (soy sauce...drool). I was very hungry with DD3 in first tri too though but I started that pregnancy quite underweight.
My boobs are already at least a size bigger and they rarely change much at all until my milk comes in and then only a size or two up.
I am not as mental (yet) as I normally am and am tending to cry a lot when I get upset whereas I normally get angry and yell. I generally NEVER cry.
It would be a cruel twist of fate for me to hear girl for this bub. I put in so much effort for a little bloke and feel I have suffered so much more this pregnancy. My lovely DH fought me and got his way on all the girls names. This time around I said to him early on all I can think of is this one name for the baby and told him the name (obviously it was a boys name). He looked at me for a moment and said you've tried so hard to have a boy this time and put in so much time and effort, if it's a boy you can call him that. I couldn't believe it!!! No arguing or deliberating.
I hope that's a sign that it's meant to be.

I'm so sick never was sick with the boys I barley eat I have no appetite ate like a cow Witt the boys I have aversions never had them before... I have a real lack of fatigue usually when I'm prehpg I would take a nap a day... Not this time...I am a BITCH and I was more of a sob with the boys

Wanting a girl, you and I bring a lot of hope to each other. I was angry and hormonal with all the girls but had more energy. This time I am completely exhausted (fall asleep on couch most days and sleeping 8-9 hours a night and it's usually 7 for me).
Am also crying at the drop of a hat (Seriously, cried yesterday watching Rio with my 3 year old when the bloody bird flew for the first time...????). Also, appetite is 3 fold what the others were (with the exception of DD3 but again, I was underweight and that petered late in first trimester).
Even morning sickness for us is opposites.... it brings me hope but I've been around nearly 40 years and I have learnt to be a sceptic sadly. Do you guys have a date when you will find out the sex?

Luvalittleman I'm not really positive about this baby being a boy. I'm just an optimist and great at over interpretation! If I don't have a cvs or amnio I'll have to wait until my anatomy scan but in the interim there'll be a 12 week scan to obsess over. Although my ob picked that DD3 was a girl based on her 14 week nub.

I'm not due to see her (my ob) for another month but I wish it was sooner cos I have so few pregnancy symptoms I feel like a fraud. My milk supply is still down which is reassuring.

I am just butting in to say that when I was pregnant with DS2, my 2 year old DD told me (before we had even talked to ANYONE about the baby): "There's a baby in your tummy. It's a boy baby." She was right!

Re pregnancy symptoms though I should add that I'm very "scatty". I'm yet to go to the shops and actually come back with everything I need, this includes essentials like bread. I'm also buying things then losing them - I have no idea what happened to the spinach from last week or the ice blocks from the week before.

LOL! I took DD to the mall when I was pg with DS...and completely forgot where I parked the car. Like seriously, I looked for 1/2 hour! And I accused the nanny of stealing the eggs, not remembering that DH had made omelettes for dinner before. I was truly ridiculous!

Because I been having dreams about him
The baking soda and the ring test both said boy
(I know people say they dont work but let's hope a little bit ;)

Because since I was little I knew I would have a boy.
I still dont have much nausea and with dd I had Alot.

I know my reasons are not good, but im just hoping:fx:

Hey Anchor!
I am due the 1st September but am having my nuchal and a cvs on the 18th Feb.
I am nervous about having a cvs but am more nervous not to if that makes sense and my DH is strongly for it.
I am not sure when you get the results back form the cvs but apparently they tell you the sex as well so if it doesn't show on my 12 week nuchal scan, then I guess I will know about a week later when my cvs results come back.
I will be relieved to know that bub is healthy and the sex. I know I will love whatever child I have but my desire for a boy this time is very intense.
How are you going Anchor?

I was so super sure too, not to sink your boat or anything! I was just unlucky and had it wrong. My first two pregnancies were the same and this one so different and I had a lot different going on in life as well, I also felt like I just had that feeling from the moment I peed on the stick. Heck maybe I am right and my ultrasound is wrong!! here is to wishful thinking!

My eldest DD said the same thing when I was last pregnant. She said its a boy mum and we will call him Max.
It was a girl of course...clearly she has inherited my appalling instinct.

I was sure I was getting my girl... really felt it in my heart, and 2 psychics had predicted it would be a girl so I thought maybe they were right.

I'd done a strong sway

baking soda and cabbage test both predicted girl too, and baby even had a girly nub

DS2 turned up!

Im hoping that some same pregnancies result in opposite gender as this is my 4th baby and this far the pregnancies have been identical ( apart from the frst 8 weks when i was really sick but that is die to twins) sadly since we lost a twin ( which i believe to be a girl ) i have been fine no sickness nothing - same appetite ( huge) as all the boys same massive blaoted belly from early days .... In my heart i now this is boy number 4 but i cant help but pray for a dd :-)
