First pic 100% boy nub guesses from techs and other people on every site I went to... Well got a very fast ultrasound from my OB doc today and legs were crossed and said couldn't get a good shot.. But she had to throw in that she didn't see any "boy parts" :( all I want is a healthy baby but I did want a boy and got my hopes up for it due to the nub theory

But why would the OB say that if she wasn't sure? She knows she's talking to a hormonal pregnant person right? Haha.. I hope she was wrong but HR was 160 which is kinda high for boy right? And to me if she really "didn't" know she would have said legs crossed can't see instead of throwing her two cents in right? :(

I can't say why a person would say what they say, but I do know I have had at least 2 friends that had boys after having an ultrasound where the legs were crossed and the tech couldn't see anything at all.

That's a boy nub.
The second pic is the face- no penis there- and I can't figure out what the third pic is other than a random leg. Going with boy.

Definite boy nub for sure (in my opinion!)
Ultrasound techs can be weird. My sisters kept saying 'He' through the entire ultrasound and a few weeks later found out it was a girl.. so I don't think they really get it (or think we care about gender that much?!)

Def a boy nub but nibs are not 100 percent so just wait till ur next scan... It prob is a boy tho... The legs were crossed so the ob could not see the boy parts... It happens

Ya... It wasn't even a tech.. It was my OB doc. The second pic is the legs on the right crossed :/ no gender pics at all.. But she threw her 2 cents in and said she didn't see boy parts... Even though she didn't try to get a potty shot or wiggle baby :/

Looks like a blue nub to me too! DS2 didn't reveal gender until a scan at 36 weeks the 20 week one they said they couldn't tell and no boy parts were visible you still have hope for a son! Fingers crossed! Are you having any more scans that you know of? The not knowing drives you nuts hey!!

Thank you!!! And ya I'm having an elective one next Saturday hopefully... And then the doc will have another..(cause this one wasn't planned) and then a 3D one later :) so il have 3 more but... It's what she said that bothered me about saying she saw no boy parts so she said its probably a girl.. But it was a dark ultrasound and legs crossed.. Not even tried potty shot :/

Nub is all boy, I don't know how that could turn girl to be honest? Some people don't see boy bits and just say girl. Unless they actually see girl bits they shouldn't say anything!

I totally agree with you!!! I hope it's still a boy!! Having that nub kinda already put it in my head that baby was a boy which we wanted so bad. So when she said that it broke our hearts... I hope she was wrong and parts were hiding :/

Many people are told "girl" when there is a "lack of boy parts" to be seen...only to find out that it was, in fact, a boy. I wouldn't put more than 3 seconds of thought into a crossed-leg shot. Babies are adept at hiding their goods, sometimes even for the best techs (and yours was "just" a doctor who doesn't do sonograms all day everyday). I wouldn't worry too much, I think the nub is about as boy as its gonna get.

I really think thats a boy....if the legs are crossed with the penis and testes tucked up behind them it would be very possible to not see boy bits......no penis does not = girl

I am hoping for a girl, and if I get "I can't see boy parts, so it's probably a girl," I will not be satisfied. The ob should have just told you she couldn't tell. I don't think lack of boy parts equals girl at all, if they didn't get a good shot of the area. Good luck!

Agree with Jeannaesue, the ob should have told you she could not tell when the legs are crossed rather than making flippant comments that us pregnant women analyze to death. To me that really does look like a boy nub and don't worry about the heartbeat as both my boys were both about 180bpm so I wouldn't read anything into that. Fingers crossed you get your blue.

My DS1 kept his legs firmly crossed at my 20 week and tech said to me they just couldn't tell one way or the other. They even sent me to walk around the car park to see if he would change position and he didn't but I can guarantee you he's a 100% boy.

Ya.... A couple days ago I had an unplanned one from my doc and she said legs are crossed completely but didn't see any "boy parts" then started calling baby a girl :/ it kinda upset me. It was dark and legs were completely crossed. The only reason she said girl is bc when baby bounced up both popped up.. Not even the cord but legs were still crossed so idk what to think... Based on the nub theory it was 100% and I got my hopes up cause that's what we tried and hoping for. We have a gender ultrasound next week and I'm hoping she was wrong.. And this one will be from a tech

That's what I've been getting but the doc said girl cause the legs were crossed and then she said she didn't see any boy parts so its a girl :/ ultrasound was like 20 secs long. She didn't even try but makes me think its a girl cause nothing was popping up

Classic Boy looking nub to me! good luck! FYI, the day after my morh scan,I asked my OB to see what HE thought (without telling him i had found out the previous day it was a boy) and it took ages for him to see the penis, he said he couldnt see boy parts at first, but also couldnt see anything to indicate it was a girl! next time ask what parts indicate its a girl and see what they say!

Thank you!! I hope that's what happened. Ya the doc was being kinda mean and didn't wanna really look. Baby was facing screen but legs were crossed and then she said she didn't see boy parts... So it a girl :/. I was like wow!! :/ according to the nub it's like classic boy.. But I'm so so so doubting it now cause of what she said she saw. Plus the HR was 160 which was kinda high bc the baby was sleeping and barely moving so... I think that doesn't help. But I hope you are right

Thank you!!! I hope your right! That's what everyone said before the ultrasound and what they are still saying now so I'm hoping doc is mistaken and the boy bits were hidden. It was dark.. Baby barely moved And legs were crossed so... I'm hoping its a boy still :/.

That is a boy nub no questioning that lol And I defo think no boy parts does NOT mean its a girl!!! I think yhe tech should not say anything unless saw a definite girl parts!

Thank you!!!! Ya it wasn't even a tech... It was my OB and I heard they don't really know what they are doing with ultrasounds. My hubby said she barely even looked cause the screen was toward them not me.. But when I did look it was dark and can barely see anything. Just the way she said it makes me mad and like she didn't care.... And I wish she would of said she wasn't certain. :/ blah! Haha I'm wishing for a boy from that nub :)
