I just found out my IUD has perforated into my uterus :( it must come out i get ill from birth control and i will not get another iud again,,,,so my only option really is tubes tied.

Yes, you can do IVF without your tubes. Sorry about the IUD.

I have my tubes tied. For the same reason, don't do well on bcp and had issues with the IUD. Honestly I wish I had never did it, just because I thought at 30 years old I would have no issues getting pregnant with IVF. So two years and 6 cycles later I am finally pregnant, but it got to a point where I really was ready to just have another baby. It was very hard on me and couldn't understand why I couldn't get pregnant and it was out of my control. It was a tough few years on me and my DH.
To answer your question yes you can have your tubes tied and still do IVF.

My pretesting was all normal. Always had a transfer.
You can see in my siggy my cycle details. Out of 6 cycles I had two chemical pregnancys and three BFN and finally got pregnant.
Thankfully I was able and crazy enough to keep going, but If I was only able to do two cycles It would of never happened.

I was just going to say the same as TRL, we would all love for PGD to work, but for those it doesn't, most go on to have another baby naturally, sounds REALLY strange but I was like TRL had many cycles and it got to the point where I was looking at both girl AND boy babies and going awwww. Dh and I had decided that if the other girls we had didn't take, we would of tried naturally for 6 months and then gone back for the boys.

What about him getting a vasectomy (is that what you call it there?) You could freeze a bit of his sperm and do it that way?

Can you use condoms till your daughter is here?

You tubes tied "just" because you dont want to use condoms and you don't want to get pregnant and then do IVF?

Here in Holland the doctors would never agree on that! They will ask you over and over again if you really don't want babies anymore and then they are maybe willing to tied your tubes. They won't do it just like that.....

in your country they do it easy? Or do you have to talk a lot about it before they will do it? (Sorry if its not on topic but I was just wondering)

I was 28 with 3 kids when I had my tubes tied. At that point I did not want any more kids, but knew if I did I could do IVF. Assuming it was so easy( ha ha). Being that we had three kids my ob was fine with me doing the surgery. If you just had one child I can't imagine any dr would be ok with doing the surgery. So it's still a process to go through, they don't just do it here.

I could have had my tubes tied after DS3 but did not just in case ht does not work for me and we try to concieve #4 naturally. It is a good way to ensure you don't have an accident, I worry about that all the time.
