Hi there ladies

We are making our first attempt to sway pink in approx 3-4 weeks. We just got licorice root today for DH but wondering should he start taking it now or wait until CD1? (I have just started taking Saw palmetto today so it could be a long cycle). How instant are the effects of the LR?

Thanks so much!

DH should not take licorice any longer than 14 consecutive days so he should not start it now (unless you gave it to him for only a week, which you can def. do)

He is meant to take it 2 w on, rest of cycle off. So he needs to stop the LR at your ovulation and hopefully that will be 2 weeks off before next month - I hope that makes sense.

Make sure that he never takes LR for more than 2 weeks at a time.

Thanks so much Atomic! He will be relieved as he was reluctant to take it anyway after he did some google research!

Glad I read this about licorice root as I didn't realize about only taking it for 2 weeks.

Yes, it's def. our most risky supp - but it does sway pink.

If he won't go for it let me know, I have options.

raises blood pressure which can affect men with heart disease and kidney disease - and many men do not even know they have these things

450 mg 3x a day taken from your CD 1-14 only, then he needs to have the rest of the month off even if you do not ovulate for weeks after that. After 6 months, he needs to take a full month off (this ends up being 6 weeks)

Thanks Atomic. He is happy to take it for the two weeks! He has low blood pressure and no heart/kidney problems. I usually O between CD15 and CD19 but have just started on SP so hope it's not very delayed.

Do you happen to know how long the effects of the LR last in the system? Perhapos I should get him to start taking at my CD4 or so instead?

No, have him take it CD 1-14 no matter what. Don't try to time it so he's on it when you O, it has a lasting effect because sperm take awhile to form.
