Hello everybody! I am going to be TTC this month, and the next preferably. I have 2 boys who I love to death. I desperately want a little girl, and this will be our final child. I just started reading up on swaying recently. I had never heard of it before!
I have been losing weight and am down 40lbs so far. I am nowhere near thin, but as we want our kids to be pretty close in age (18-24 months apart) I dont think I did so bad. I have altered my diet this month to a more girl friendly one, and to be blunt... Im dying here! I am also drinking loads of great value sugar free stuff, and pure unsweetened cranberry juice. I take a multivitamin with 100% of your daily folic acid, but was wondering if they contained anything that could sway blue, and I should stop them now?
My plan of attack was to use a douche about half an hour to an hour before doing the deed. Now that I found this site (today!) I was reading up on rephresh and was thinking that might be a good way to go. Perhaps Rephresh 3 days before, and then douche the day of? Then maybe afterwards using just a fingertip of rephresh? Perhaps somebody can advise me there?
I honestly dont have the patience to go full swing into this, but would like to at least give swaying a lazy shot. I will be happy either way, but visions of pink literally hurt when i walk through the infant clothing section. (The headbands... please help me, the HEADBANDS! And dont get me started on the tights)

I should add, I went from eating junk to about 1200-1300 cals per day, skipping breakfast... Im thinking about stopping the cranberry and going on baby aspirin and Zyrtec.
I guess my biggest question is about the douche/Rephresh. Can i douche that day and do rephresh later?

The weight loss is going to help you no matter what.
Multivitamins may sway blue and it's actually better to take JUST folic acid, in actually a higher than normal dose - 1200-1600 mcg - because the diet itself has a lower than normal amount of folic. I would advise you gradually wean off the multivitamin over 2-3 weeks and increase folic acid right away.
Do not use both douche and RepHresh, the RepHresh is designed to keep pH in a certain range and the low pH of the douche may cause a rebound effect with the RpHResh and inadvertently raise pH. I prefer RepHresh, I just htink it's easier than all the messing around with douche. I'd use it 8 hours up to 24 hours before an attempt, then nothing afterwards. If you want to use douche, that's fine too, but don't do the RepHresh with it.
go easy on the cran juice (may have too many nutrients and also may make more CM) and on the sugar free stuff (2-3 12/16 oz servings is fine, more than that may not be safe, this is the amount approved by the FDA as safe during pregnancy.)
LOL at the headbands and tights...I spent way too much on those myself (have a girl after 20 years of boys)
Good luck and sending you tons of pink dust.

I think the aspirin + zyrtec is much better than cranberry. :agree:
You can douche and use REPLENS, but not RepHresh.

Sorry Atomic, didn't want to jump in here but wondered if there is an ideal amount of weight to lose each week, or does it not matter as long as you're losing?

Gotcha... I may skip TTC this month then, and wait until next. DD day was going to be the 23rd/24th, as Im supposed to O the 26th. Plan of attack will be: eating less calories, using the fat free yogurts/cucumbers/strawberries and other girly type things, staying away from protein and sodium as much as possible (hard for me, Im a total carnivore!) go to baby aspirin (2-3 times per week enough?) with Zyrtec daily starting about 5 days before BD as well as Rephresh with folic acid no multiV.
I know I said tons but thats generally 3 glasses... I tend not to drink much. :giggle: I guess my subconscience wanted to be dramatic hehe! I was thinking about adding the vitex or SP or both, but reading through I was getting a bit confused and spooked with taking the aspirin and Zyrtec as well as the supplements. Not sure how much, when, when to stop, cold turkey etc! Thank you for all your advice so far!
@bunnywabbit- I use MyFitnessPal as a way to keep track of calories and stuff, and it recommended for me to lose 2lbs a week, to eat 1200 calories, and to lose 1lb a week I can go up to 1580. I try to keep a happy medium/on the lower scale and the weight has been coming off steadily. Im actually around the same weight as when I conceived DS1.

And one last question (sorry, I feel like Im late to the swaying party... I was unintentionally swaying until the beginning of this month!) My cycle is pretty regular thanks to BCP, it varies from 28/29 days depending on how long each one chooses to hang around. This time was 6, the last was 5. Is there a 'better' ovulation calender I can use to chart my cycle? So far the few Ive looked at had me fertile from the 22nd, others the 24th, and my O day the 26th, 27th, etc. Im be honest, I dont want to spring for the test if theyre pricey. Should I just go with the 23rd and cross my fingers? Im doing cutoff. :)
This is for March... going to skip TTC this month. March is better for girls supposedly too? My boys were made in December for #1 and July for #2.

SurroundedByBoys, I use MFP too and wondered if 2lb loss per week is ok, too much weight loss too fast or if it doesn't matter just as long as you're losing.

From what Im taking, as long as youre losing. 1200 might be too low for some people, and if youre not losing with it, your body could be going into starvation mode which isnt healthy. Thats why I try to go a little over, as I seem to lose best in the 1300 area. Any diet/weight change is a step in the right direction I think.

No, there is no ideal amount or pace of weight loss, it's different for everyone. Losing too much too quickly can make you stop ovulating, even if you still have some weight to spare - don't feel like more is better, it's not.
You don't even HAVE to lose weight, in fact some people who are already thin shouldn't lose weight.

Well, please don't stay away from anything "as much as possible" because the LE Diet is meant to be the safe lower limits of nutrient intake to start/sustain pregnancy. It doesn't mean starve yourself or cut out any nutrients all together. You need a certain amount of protein and sodium to sustain your body and dropping below those levels is not LE Diet and you can end up making yourself really sick.
I very much prefer people stay within 1500-1800 cals and not drop down to 1200-1500 unless they've plateaued or are very petite. never go below 1200.

Timing doesn't sway, the online calculators are not reliable, and my advice is to get yourself some cheap OPK and go for one attempt at positive OPK. DTD on the 23rd for an ovulation as late as the 27th is not going to get you pregnant, esp. once you start throwing sway tactics into the mix http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/7691-trouble-timing.html
In the Northern Hemisphere Mar-May is believed to be somewhat pink friendly, but plenty of opposites are conceived.

It depends on how much you weight coming in and how much you want to lose before your attempt.
If someone weighs 100 lbs, they have no business losing 2 lbs a week now for an attempt in May. If someone weighs 300 lbs, they can safely lose more than 2 lbs a week and may need to if they want to attempt in May. I can't give a blanket recommendation that way.

Well for me, eating the minimum required is staying away as much as possible. I love my protein, and now that Im looking at the numbers, I never knew just how much I actually ate! Peanut butter for breakfast, tuna for lunch, beef for dinner. I think thats going to be the biggest challenge for me, along with eating enough potassium.
Would this be a good one to buy? First Response Ovulation Test - Walmart.com (http://www.walmart.com/ip/First-Response-Easy-Read-Ovulation-Test-7-tests/10719901) Im actually going to SuperWalmart tomorrow since thats where I food shop. I was also going to look at the supps and am considering adding SP and perhaps Vitex if I could find it. I would do those along with the aspirin and AF to O, and then wean off of it. Zyrtec about 7 days away from my projected O so it has time to get working. Is there an amount you should take with the aspirin, SP and Vitex? Daily? I know theyre blood thinners and may not work for me. Do you just stop cold turkey?

I never used ovulation predictors - they look fine to me but maybe some others will chime in if they've had neg. experiences??
