Anyone have hcg levels that didn't double but had a healthy baby?

Mine on Thurs were 2620

And Tuesday were 3584....

clearly not doubled in 4 days time. (I am 6 weeks exactly)

Any thoughts or honesty greatly appreciated!!

Im not sure hun, I do know once they get to a certain level they slow down so that could be the case. Has your Dr said anything? I hope all is ok - when are they doing another test?

Owe Harley I didn't know you were Pregnant! Congratulations hon!!! Did you ask the Doctor. They haven't quiet doubled but honestly I would be positive at this stage! They are going up and every body is different! My Doctor told me they expect them to double in 72 hours but it isn't an exact and every body is different! Pluss other things such as the lab they use maybe different and the levels can be different from different labs also and the time you have the tests! When I was pg with ds3 I had early betta 3 days later it hadn't quiet doubled my doctor wanted another bloods but made sure they were done by the same lab and technician as well! I have had an ectopic so they watch me to the extreme! I had a healthy bub I can honeslty not tell you what my numbers were though!! :fingers: for a healthy sticky bub!

Any news on how it's going? So happy to see you're still around Harley! I haven't commented much but I've been following your story and totally rooting for you!

Bimby...the Dr has been pessimistic from beginning and she gave me a script for progesterone (800 mg? does this seem high to anyone?) and she was a specialist so she said "bye-bye" and referred me to a regular OB so I have NO appt on the books right now.

RAINBOW...you may have something...because this was the lab that told me my HCG was a 7, when I had 4 blaring positives on different brand home tests and that DID NOT make sense. The ER told me it was 2620 not too long after it was a "7" so my God...how much can one woman take:tissue:

Thanks Mrs. B....as far as I know I am still pg....I had a bad episode of bleeding and cramping last night after no bleeding for 2 days...and today a steady spotting but nothing like AF yet....idk...its just very hard. Sorry to sound so down but I want to feel excited and happy about a baby, not half expecting it all to fail.

Harley - did they check you for an ectopic (by US)? I personally think it is very irresponsible if a Dr. isn't seeing a double every 48-72 hours and they put you on progesterone without making sure you don't have an ectopic. Especially since you have been bleeding!! Please let me know if they made sure this baby is in the right place.

WAnting...yes the sac is where it is supposed to be. I just do feel something isn't right beyond progesterone. :( I mean, when I cramp...I CRAMP.

ETA: I may go back to ER tonight after dinner if cramping gets any worse or the bleeding, its just a 4 hour process at the LEAST and I would be more willing to go if at 6w4days I could be more confident I would see a heartbeat because otherwise it is just more limbo...a heartbeat would at least be SOMETHING positive

Harley just FYI, you can have a "pseudo" gestational sac with an ectopic. I really do hope that everything is okay with your PG and you are just having a rough beginning. I just want you to be aware because ectopic can be really bad when you are on progesterone. Undiagnosed you can loose a tube at the least... it can also be life threatening.

If your cramping and bleeding persist I really do think you should go to the ER to get checked out. If caught early an ectopic doesn't need to be a big deal. Not saying this is what you have but with your Hcg not doubling and with the cramping and bleeding I would want to be closely monitored.

Is someone still monitoring your Hcg??

Nobody is monitoring my hcg right now.

I have 2 choices for OB...I can go back to that place where there are 8billion women as patients and I had to be in a cold room and learn my baby had died and get it removed from me. I have a "hang-up" about going back there but I will, I have to suck it up and go back there and have just been released by infertility Dr on Friday so I have to make that call but I just haven't yet. I can't imagine being in there again. I didn't feel very supported and didn't connect with that doctor very well.

My other choice is a GP who did a speciality in OB. GP doesn't seem like the best choice for me, but maybe it is...I haven't decided yet.

Infertility Dr and the rhuematologist are mostly like...well...if this one doesn't last, you will fly out to see RE on different island (we have no major city). Infertility Dr doesn't deliver babies, just gets you pregnant so thats why she has let me go.

So yes at this point, my only choice is ER if I want any info.

I just read about that psuedo sac. I should of went last night when it was bad. Tonight is more just light spotting.

Well none of those sound like great choices but maybe it would be good to see your GP just to have your Hcg checked. You really should be monitored with US also to make sure the sac that was seen is progressing the way it should.

If you have bad pain you really should go to the ER and let them know that you are PG, how far along you are, that you have had bleeding, you are on progesterone, your Hcg isn't doubling, you don't have an OB that is monitoring you, and although you have a confirmed pregnancy location hasn't been confirmed. That should speed things along in the ER:)

With your pain coming and going like it is it doesn't sound like you have an ectopic however, you really do need to monitor it. An ectopic on progesterone is nothing to mess with!!

I did not go to ER. I have been noticing the bleeding really picks up with activity so I try to stay close to home (gonna be a loooong nine months at this rate)

Still having some bleeding/spotting and still have yet to make appt with OB..I think I needed just a couple days away from numbers and needles because what will be, will be, regardless if I am being monitored or not. So just a bit of break before I call and get going with things again.

Thank you for asking!!! :)

Harley, I'm so sorry you are going through this!

If I could go back to April 2012 I would have not gone to the ER period..
in my opinion it made things much worse..
esp that damn vaginal ultrasound on Sun and Wed!
I would have just done a quanitive blood test in a few days at the doc and avoided all the other trauma.
The worst part was the V/US.. not only was it horribly painful (when they look for your ovaries).. but the room was silent as the U/S tech wouldn't tell me anything!
Just try to take things easy but also at the same time prepare for the worst.
:(

But I will be praying for you and your little bean!
If you are in a A LOT of pain or hemorrhaging then I'd go to the ER, otherwise.. just wait it out at home.
