View Full Version : Hairloss after starting LE diet....

So, I am on loose diet now. TTC in july-aug.
Changes so far:
1. skipping breakfast regularly and trying not to snack.
2. very little meat, only white meat 1-2 times a week.
3. Stopped taking fish oil, B-vitamins, evening priomrose oil. Taking now folic acid and iron only and planning to stop 3 months before TTC, not folica acid though!

last 2- 3 weeks experienced hairloss!! it is literally falling of me, in the shower, when I comb my hair.
I am trying not to eat nutrient dense foods, but the real calorie/nutrient restriction I am waiting until 3 months before, so I can loose some weight.
Still I am loosing so much. Is it low proein, low vitamin/minerals causing it, so worried:nails:

I'm going to be trying at the same time and atomic told me not to start my diet yet because she didn't want me wasting away to nothing. Normal time to start the diet is the diet is about 3 months before ttc which would be about April-May.
I was going to start my diet then but since I'm going to be ttc during Ramadan and I will be fasting Atomic said I could start my diet a little later.
Take in to consideration I'm very short and petite. 5' and 115-120lbs (that's my heaviest)

It is your hormone levels changing (which is GOOD). It's the same sort of thing that happens after pregnancy and after you come off the birth control pill.

You really have to be severely nutrient deprived before a slight change in diet can make your hair fall out!
