No, my understanding is that the reason why there are boys and girls is solely because the Y chromosome causes testes to form instead of ovaries and then those tiny testes make the testoterone that completes the job of turning your baby into a boy.
the estrogen you have, is because you need it to sustain pregnancy. You need estrogen to sustain a pregnancy of either gender child (and progeseterone as well) Estrogen and Progesterone (http://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/pregnancy-health/pregnancy-hormones/estrogen.aspx) It has nothing to do with your baby's gender. That is entirely down to the testosterone that the fetus produces himself.
