QUICK HELP!

Dh & I dtd last night (no protection) and this morning I got a +OPK. I'm going on cd27 so I didn't know exactly that I would O now. I've always had irregular cycles so that's nothing new although in the past I've (fortunately) gotten pg pretty easy so naturally I'm excited at the possibility since this is the first time since ds4 we've gone without anything also but slightly panicked.

Anyway, I've been using replens, we used sylk for lube, and I've had hardly any CM (usually I have days and days of EWCM to warn me O is coming so that was really weird for me). Since we already dtd, is there anything else I can do to up my chances for a girl?

How long after a + OPK do you usually ovulate? This is my first month using opk's.

everyone different but i normally ovulate the same day as my + opk. i think you could maybe just up the crystal light, take something to dry out cm, do a lime tampon, or use some more replens. good luck!!

They say the average women ovulates anywhere from 8 to 48 hours after ovulation with the majority of people Oing around 24/36 hours after. I am also ttc a girl and for the past 3 months have been bding up to the night before my +opk which gives me approx a 48 hour cut off. I like you have also been using sylk and replens, are sways sound very similar lol!! Id say that if you are doing all the other sway factors and you hardly had any ewcm then you have a good girl sway there! Keep up the diet and relevant supps though as they are menat to help in the tww. Dont really think theres much else you should be doing now but one of the other more experienced swayers may have some more input. Can i ask did u get dh to abstain at all before bd last night?

I think it is 12-36 hours after a true positive OPK that you ovulate. When I say true positive I mean that the test line is the same colour or darker than the control line. I don't have a great deal of experience with OPK's myself, I used them for one month and we conceived that month. I had to resort to using them, because like you by doing the girl diet my EWCM had dried up!!

The bad thing is I've been terrible at sticking to the girl diet. I try and then I fail. I try again and then I fail. I've been doing supps though. And I can feel cramps so I think either I'm ov'ing or about to. I still can't believe I have no EWCM... that's not normal for me at all! (which is a good thing, right? lol)

Deffinetley a good thing!! Do you plot your temps every morning? i find this really useful in helping me determine when im about to O!! I also thought i was pretty irregular as woiuld get ewcm on diff days each month but when i started charting i realised that i O around day 12/13 every month

I haven't been temping but for the past several months I've kept track of all my other signs and I can usually tell when I'm getting ready to O because of all the EWCM (sometimes it lasts 5-7 days for me) and then I'll get O pains followed by af after 14 days. I definitely feel like I'm going to O now. In the past month or so is when we started talking about having #5, before that dh wanted to wait longer so we always used something (usually spermicide since it sways pink ;) ) Guess I'll see in about 2 weeks if anything comes of this. Realistically I know we have only like a 25% chance of conceiving at any given time but in the past I've gotten pg quite easily so I'm hoping it happens again for us as easy. :)

A quick update - I tested a + opk yesterday and did another today and it was even more + than yesterdays. Today I actually had a little bit of ewcm :worry: but I tested the ph of it and it was at a 5-5.5 so I'm just going to drink some crystal light but otherwise I'm going to leave it. (Usually my ph hovers at a 7). I think I either ovulated last night or maybe this morning? I was really crampy yesterday and today not so much but with the ewcm that came all of the sudden I don't know. Hopefully our bd 36 hours ago still left some (girl ;) ) swimmers in there to catch the egg. ;)

Most people ovulate about 36 hours after their OPK. I think your timing is PERFECT!

Don't worry about the diet now, it's over and done with! Yes the no EWCM is a good thing! As is the abstinence! C'mon BFP!!

I don't know if this was bad or not but we just bd which I'm guessing is at least 0+12 if not maybe 0+16 or so. I used the last of my replens (cm before bd was at 5-5.5). Dh's "stuff" was 8 :worry: so I'm soaking a tampon in water/lime at ph4 and going to use that to keep ph down. Dh doesn't know I'm doing any of this stuff :oops: although he certainly knows we're taking a shot at ttc.

I did another OPK and it was also a definite +. The LH surge can last for awhile can't it? And that's why I'm still getting the +? I really think I already ovulated.

It wasn't exactly a planned thing, the kids fell asleep early and it "just happened".:suprise: All I could do was quick check my ph beforehand just to see what it was. Oh well, what's done is done I guess. And my chance on any given cycle with good conditions is like 25% or something like that (I think?) so I'm not going to stress. Or at least I'm going to TRY not to anyway. :wink:

I wouldn't worry about DH's pH - again that may just be what it needed to be at for you to get pg. I personally don't like the lime tampons and I don't think they're necessary but if you like them, that's ok. Just don't leave them in for any longer than 4 hours!!!!!

LH surge can last for a while esp. if you are going to release more than one egg.

I'm a bit confused by this too. I'm going to get the last kid to bed and do one more opk and see what it says. I SWEAR I had already ovulated before last night's bd though because of my cramping and a surge of ewcm. Too bad I don't temp, that could have really come in handy this time!

Finally today I'm getting negative opk's! I had 3 full days of definite positives?!? So I guess I'm officially in the tww :)

Wish I knew exactly when I o'd though. I had a good deal of cramping on Thursday so I assumed I o'd either Thursday night/Friday morning but with the +opks lasting all day Saturday I don't know.

My hope is I surged for a few days because I released 2 eggs... I've always secretly hoped for twins, regardless of gender :wink:
