I would love to add a daughter to our family, but for some reason I just don't feel like this pregnancy will be the one to do that!
I have heard a lot of people say they were sure they were pregnant with their DG but had an opposite. But has anyone experienced the reverse (you were sure you would have an opposite but were pregnant with your DG)?

I did not ever feel one way or the other with DD. with DS I was convinced he was a girl. With DD, I was 50/50. It was my mom who kept saying THIS is your girl! Her intuition is right a lot of the time. Even after my 9 ultrasounds (7 were from medical reasons) saying this was a baby girl I still didn't feel like it was a girl.

With my first two sons I knew they were boys and that's what I wanted with ds3 the fact that I wanted a girl so bad skrewed with my intuition... This time I have been very at pease with the thought of either gender I just want a baby but I am getting some girl vibes lately.... Some studies I have read said intuition is right 70 % of the time

I did that with being pregnant - the month I didn't even bother to test because I was so sure I was out and not pregnant was the month I was actually pregnant!

Thanks everyone! I really envy those who *know* the sex (DG) of their babies - even if they are wrong - because they get to indulge the fantasy for at least a while.

I was convinced that my sway would not work the 1st time. That it would take the second attempt at a sway for me to get a DS. And as the pregnancy went on the more convinced I was that I was having a girl and I was OK with that. I do want another DD at some stage in the future.

With DS1 I knew he was a boy. With DS2 I was convinced he was a girl and it was very heart breaking to hear boy at the 20 week scan. For this baby I have had myself convinced it is another boy. I even had a boy name picked out and didn't entertain any girl names. Well, my MaterniT21 test says this little one is a girl and my 13 week US was very suggestive of a girl however, I don't believe it. I will be getting a 16 week US to confirm and will probably wait until the 20 week US before I buy anything pink!!

My first I didn't feel anything but was told girl at 16 weeks and was so happy because I wanted a girl and had swayed for one. At 19 weeks he was clearly a boy. With my second I started feeling boy around 9 weeks and was right, and another failed sway. This time I've been all over the place with it. I started off dreaming of a girl and obsessing over girl clothes the cycle I got pregnant before I'd even ovulated. We actually weren't even planning to try for several more months and was very surprised I was pregnant considering I was under extreme stress with DH having a heart attack. I've been hoping for a girl but feel resigned to having another boy because I've been so gender unlucky. I can't say I feel I'm carrying a specific gender though, just desiring girl and fearing boy.
I've read that as long as the mother has no gender preference at all intuition is up to 70% accurate. If the mother has a preference it's no better than chance.
