Is it okay to be pretty high on carbs when youre swaying pink, as long as youre still losing weight? (and yes, I do need to lose it :hide:) Would it be better for me to attempt to take in more fruits and veggies (I dont like a lot of veggies though) and keep carbs within MyFitnessPal limits? Im nervous for my attempt hehe

I am super high in carbs...Atomic has said that is fine as long as you are getting at least the minimum fat and protein...which I am not proud to say I rarely do...I try with yogurt but it is hard to get that much protein in eating crapola....

Sorry to change the subject but you have the cutest little babies ever! What is that look on the little one? He's like "yes I am too darling I just can't help it!"

wouldn't worry about fitness pal limits they will be expecting you to eat more protien and fat ie in a perfect for health proportion, we're lowering fat and protien as much as possiable (make sure you are eating what atomic reccomends) so you will probably eat more carbs than they expect, do make sure you get the minimum fats and protien otherwise you may stop ovulating even thou you're not 'that' skinny xx

Haha, thank you so much! :bighug: Hes a character, and very opinionated! Hes very in your face, while my older son is laid back (except for the start of the terrible twos). I cant wait until theyre running around together. But trust me... little Logan, hes going to be the troublemaker, and the mastermind behind all plots that make mama rip her hair out. ;)

By the way, fat wise I use unsalted butter to give it a boost if I need it. I always make 40g protein, just from random whatever. I looked in my food diary to see if I could pinpoint where mine was coming from, and today was mostly pasta, low sodium cheese, and yogurt, and sour cream for my potato.

Thank you fish2012... I was just making sure. I want to keep a happy balance between weight loss and carb intake. I did well today and Im pleased.

I know Im going to be awful sometime soon (the week of march 5th)... Its my wedding anniversary, and the hubby wants to bring me to my favorite steakhouse, Longhorn. The thought of a well cooked steak crusted with blue cheese almost brings me to tears. Im not sure if Im going to go all out and indulge, just indulge with the steak and eat good sides, or try to be good all around. Ill be ttc around the 26th next month most likely. Hopefully atomic will chime in and let me know if i do indulge, then hit the diet hard for my last stretch itd be okay.

It is overall declining maternal condition that matters so one day is not going to make your body go "things are all better now". Have the steak (this coming from a vegetarian-ha!).

I say definitely have the steak! I have read multiple times that it is the overall pattern of declining health that really matters so a cheat meal here and there is good. Especially because it makes it that much easier to stick with the diet the rest of the time. :)

Im going to fast and just enjoy my dinner, with reasonable sides. But a yummy dessert. And maybe a drink. It will be my one and only cheat, since its crunch time! ;) Then hit the diet right back where I am. Ive finally fell into a pattern that works for me where Im getting the minimum needed for everything, and 1300-1400 calories usually. Sometimes 1200. If my carbs hamper my weight loss I may cut back just slightly on them and see if that helps me.

I think I MAY be doing better with the protein than I think because I do eat a lot of pasta....I agree with everyone here I have tried to allow for some minor cheating and having been on the diet now for somewhere around ten/eleven weeks I think cheating is the only way I am going to be able to stick with this. I am down 22 lbs. and I definitely do not feel strong and healthy...I don't feel like I am going to drop anytime soon but I am used to feeling strong, muscular and well athletic...and I have turned into a skinny little whimp (no offense to those naturally skinny) and I am hopint it is a "girl-producing" whimp!!!!! Fingers crossed for all of us!!!!

I got on the scale this morning, a couple days earlier than I usually weigh in and I gained almost a pound this week. :worry: Definately dropping the carbs a bit and trying to up my calories some other way. I managed to meal plan today with way less carbs, and managed to hit a bit over 1200 calories. Ill keep tabs on my weight... I may have to increase my caloric intake somewhat since I am a bigger sized woman.

Surrounded- I dont' know there are A LOT of times if I get on the scale after a few days it reads a pound but by the end of the week (and my twice weekly trip to the potty) I am usually down half a pound for the week so don't assume that you really gained this wee and I know it is easy for me to say but I think you should try not to weigh yourself too much (I should take my own advice) but maybe try not to get too hung up on the numbers...just a thought. Hugs!!! Oh and I think you are right about increasing your caloic intake maybe a "big wig" could chime in but I think maybe your body might be in shock! :nyd: (that's your body saying "no" I just really like that symbol :)

The only people who need to limit carbs are those who have PCOS or insulin resistance, or if you try the LE Diet with white carbs and empty calories and don't lose weight or even gain. Then, you need to increase protein to 50-60 g, limit carbs to 2-3 servings whole grains a day and fruit and veg.

You were right Polish, I weighed in on Sunday, when I normally do it Tuesday (today) morning. I lost .6lbs this week. Not the 1-2lbs I was going for, but still a step in the right direction.

Thank you atomic, Im going to try and lower my carbs. I was going about 40-50 above what MFP recommended so if I can stay under or just go over a tad, say 15 max over, and still stay within the minimum limits and that works thats what Im going to do. If not, Ill increase my protein. Im doing less empty and a bit more fruits and veggies.
