for those who have boys..do you remember if you had morning sickness while pg? ive heard for most women (altho everyones diff) they have less or none with a boy due to decrease in estrogen or whatever.
true?
ive had slight nausea with both DD, the 2nd being less, but still present (only in first 3 mos)

I had severe morning sickness with both of my DS. First one just felt like I wanted to puke all day until about month 7. DS2 I did puke a couple of times a day until about month 7 (but still managed to gain 70 lbs). Hopefully #3 isn't worse... yikes!!

With both boys, I lost 15-20 lbs. in the 1st trimester and took Zofran up until I delivered...Ugh...I'm quite unsettled about what is to come once I get pregnant again...

Nausea with all 3 DS but never puked...maybe once each preg. Just had no appetite lost lots of weight and couldn't stand smell of foods like fried onions, anything greasy like fast food joints, and meat disgusted me. I basically lived on sprite and saltines and fruits the first trimester....then I felt great!

I was hardly sick at all with DD1 (maybe a week or two of nausea). With my son, I was sick as a dog for 12 weeks! DD2 I was sick like I was with my son. In my case, it has been with each child I have progressively more morning sickness, regardless of gender.

I was nauseated almost all the time with DS until week 12. I threw up several times.

I had very mild waves of nausea with DS 1 and my current pregnancy (DS2). Everyone I know in real life ha had severe morning sickness if they are pregnant with girls and mild morning sickness for boys. That OWT holds true for my circle of friends!

I had "regular" morning sickness with 2 of my boys and HORRIBLE AWFUL TERRIBLE morning sickness with the other 2. I was throwing up all the time with the two of them and had to go on zofran just to keep food down. Not sure why I got so sick with 2 of them but all 4 are most definitely boys!

From what I have learnt, yes there is some correlation between severe morning sickness (hyperemisis) and carrying a girl. However, like anything there are many variables.

Horrible morning sickness every time. Just awful. My two good friends with hyperemesis, one has two boys and the other has three boys and a girl.

My mom NEVER had morning sickness and in fact used to tell me all the time that she thought it was totally psycological and she had 2 girls and a boy. She also never had heartburn! I hate her LOL.

We have looked into this quite a bit through the years and the consensus, both scientifically and anecdotally is, that there is nothing to the idea. Hyperemesis (very severe morning sickness where you cannot keep food down at all and may have to go into the hospital even) is something like 3% more common if you are pregnant with a girl - not terribly significant.

I had NONE with all my three boys. It will be interesting to see if I do ever conceive a girl whether I get any.

My mom had 3 girls and didn't have m/s with us.

And then with me have horrid m/s with 2 of my boys and not-quite-so-bad m/s with the other 2 I honestly think gender might make a difference to some woman and others it won't. Who knows?!

Im sure we can't tell gender from m/s. I only have girls and it was all different.

I had two girls and I had morning sickness with both of them , but not bad. I had no morning sickness at all with my son.
