Just wondering Ladies how many kids did your Mom have? What are the genders? How about you Ladies as well.
My Mom had 3 girls, no boys.
I have 6 boys make me wonder.

(I have 2 cousins from my aunt, a boy and a girl)

Fathers side-

Grandmother- one of 2 girls, 4 boys
Father- one of 3 boys
(I have three male cousins from one of my uncles, and one of them just had their first child, a boy)

I look to my dad and DH's dad more than my mom when I am looking at gender, but here is my run down...

DH's 2 brothers both have 2 boys each, sister has 2 girls and 1 boy, my sister has 2 and 2 and my moms siblings have an equal mix also.

I do not believe gender runs in families at all (at least not genetically. some families may have similar diets and lifestyles.)

Heavy periods can be really depleting in terms of nutrients over the course of time :agree:

After seeing this thread, I asked my mum if she remembered her diet/weight when she conceived me & my brother....she didn't remember much difference in the type of food she ate at conception, but did say that she was quite skinny and had been poorly before conceiving me, and then when she conceived my brother was a lot heavier (had a lot of baby weight left from me.... only 14 months between us, so I must've only been 5 months old when bro conceived)

My mum had me first at 22 (girl!) and then my brother 2 and a half years later (he has a daughter). She divorced my dad when we were small and when she was 33 she had another son with her second husband. I havent asked her about her weight/diet as I am not overly comfortable having that type of conversation with her although I was born in September and the boys were born in April and August so I guess from a seasonal perspective it fits. I am guessing that she would have been at her lowest conception weight when she had me and her highest when she had her second son. She has often been on diets such as slimming world etc.

I am ashamed to say that I am not sure about my dad's side, I know he had at least 2 brothers and 1 sister but I am not sure about any more, his family was bigger and we havent had the best relationship unfortunately. My mum had an older brother. He sadly died when he was 10 years old.

On my DH's side, he has one brother so he always goes on about having more boy sperm which really irritates me!!! His dad has one brother and 2 sisters which sounds 50/50 to me. But because DH has one brother he seems to think that in his line its only boys......and we do have one son but knowing what I know from here (thanks atomic) I am not surprised and thats down to my diet and lifestyle not the fact he has a brother. His dad's brother has 2 daughters.

We have one DS. Once I decide to TTC again I am hoping for a DD but wont be upset to have another DS.

My Mum had me at 19 and I was an accident/one night stand then she started her own family 9 years later and had three sons all with the same father. Her Sister has three girls and one brother had three girls and other brother has a boy. Her Mum, my biological Nana had what some may think of as the 'perfect family' 2 boys and 2 girls but I don;t know the order.

My mom had identical twin girls naturally. My mom is a health freak. No junk food ever, cake , ice cream none of it!! She isn't a vegetarian, she just wears very healthy and has always been very thin! My mom weighs less then me!!

Then she had my brother and got pg with my sister when she was desperately trying to lose the weight from my brother and still nursing him (he was 11 months old.)

She got pg with fraternal twin boys when she was gaining weight from stress when my parents started their own business (dad pulled out, so it goes to show that method is NOT a pink magic bullet!)

My Mum had 7 girls (1 angel) and 3 boys (my older brothers twin died in early pregnancy) BGGGBGGGGB. My Mum and Dad had GGGBG together with Dad having a DD prior to their relationship. We're a heavily female dominated family with 9 girls (&1 on the way) and 1 lonely boy. My mums Mum had G (my mothers twin died are birth), BBB (last uncles twin was still born)

This was pretty much my mom. She had GGG and never smoked, but was a chronic undereater, former ballerina, etc. Even found out recently that she didn't nurse any of us very long because she wanted to crash diet and not have to worry about supply. My last sister is a confirmed Shettles opposite.
