Which would you choose and why ? Needs to be suitable for a shorty - Im 5 foot 2 and be suitable from newborn upwards. I love the ergo but put off by the fact u have to have the seperate newborn insert.
Wondering what other people think and why as its alot of money to spend and get wrong. I know im best trying them all to see but im just after reviews and opinions right now... Thanks

I am a big baby ergo fan. I used mine to pieces with DD3 and still use it from time to time. Used youtube to learn all the ways to use it and I LOVED it! I have tried others but I am sold on Ergo! They have a huge resale value too because they are so wonderful!!

My friend loves her ergo! It's her most used carrier and she has like 8 different ones

im torn between ergo, manduca, bob 3g and phonix something or other gemini maybe ? I like the structured carriers that distribute weight evenly and are super quick to put on.
Im going to try and attend a sling group next month and try them all.

I got one from Two Mommas Designs that I love! It's a buckle tai, I guess similar to the ergo? When DS was really little, I just rolled over the bottom padded portion instead of getting an insert.

Right I narrowed my search down to the ERGO with insert ( pain to have to use insert though to be honest ) then the Manduca and the Boba 3G. I need to try and find them all to try on.

for newborn I only go with moby type wrap even with my big guys it is easy to get one and soft and squishy they just fall asleep as soon as they are in. after that we used beco butterfly not sure if that is for nb's. I tried an ergo but liked the beco better thought it was easier to get babe in and out. less padding on shoulders and just fit me better but everyone is different. do you have a carrier store or babywearer group to try some on?

I love my ergo!
I got the infant insert for DS2 (didn't know about the ergo with DS1 until he was beyond the stage of needing the insert). We got A LOT of use out of it. DS2 was a bit on the smaller side so we used the insert for a good 4-5 months, i would say.
I got mine second hand and only paid $5 for it! I checked craigslist but im sure you can find them on other second hand websites or stores. If you dont want to forgo the money for it, my cousin never bought one for her ergo. She just rolled up a towel and she said it worked great.
I have a lot of carriers. None of the other ones you spoke of, so im sure im bias. but honestly it has served me well. Far more than any other carrier....oh and im only 5 foot 1 and it fits great :)

I like the moby for when they are wee little (like under 12lbs), however, i find nursing much easier in the ergo and far more discrete. If i had to chose between the moby wrap and the ergo, i would go with the ergo, hands down. You get much longer support out and use out of it.
