Well DH has been taking care of himself for the past 7 days... I thought last night I got a positive opk so we dtd at 9:30pm, but when I tested this afternoon at around 12pm, today's was definately positive... Asked DH to release and then we could dtd one more time and he was physically exhausted! He couldn't do it :( I'm so upset that all our hard work this month probably wasted...

Last month we tried abstain and 3 day cut off and didnt work and month before dtd on positive opk and didn't work... I'm really in doubt this will work :(

Thanks for listening to my sad vent :(

you are still in with avery good chance , he might of even done you a favor ! by the time you actually ovulate in theory most y sperm should have died off .
Don't worry about it hun it got dd one bed at first pos opk ! ( i get at least 2days of them )
have all my pink dust in exchange for your blue x:fx:

You DTD about 12 hours before a positive OPK. That's brilliant. You stand a very good chance of getting PG and doing it once makes a pink bean more likely.

If it makes you feel any better my DH has been abroad for 2 of our cycles and missed O altogether. This was our big chance as he is likely to miss next O and guess what I did? I totally misjudged the signs and we DTD 3.5 days before O!!!! Doh!

I think I already answered this somewhere along the way, but that's fine to have one attempt 2 days before O, that's still a good chance of pg unlike 3 day cutoff. Plus, you count from your FIRST positive OPK even if you get more/darker ones later on. So your attempt was prob. perfect timing and even if it wasn't you're still in with a good chance.

Oh yes, I have been down this path with DH before. Once they feel pressure, it is ALL OVER unless you have some sort of saint you are married to that will rise to the occasion instead of retiring to the office to read sports scores on the computer....lol

Fwiw, we started off good, dtd Fri, Sat, and Sunday got my +opk on Monday and guess who couldn't perform? GUESS!!! YEP!!! Mr. Sports Score.

To make it worse, I had used some acijel so thought there was no way I could get pg because it prob killed all the sperm so a cutoff would be useless. But I did! I was shocked!! It CAN happen :giggle:

Yup, we weren't going to try this month, we DTD CD 11, then the next day I noticed I was heading into fertile territory. By CD13, my OPKs were getting darker so fast I knew it was going to be a cut off, so JUST IN CASE I shot up a whole applicator of acijel to be on the safe side. I ovulated CD15---so that's a 4 day cut off---and got a BFP 4 days ago:) I couldn't be happier.

P.S I do not suggest anyone try for a 4-day cut of. My husband obviously had super sperm.

Thanks Ladies! Maybe his inability to perform will end up being a blessing in disguise :)

Still waiting for my temp rise tho? My temps are still level with Pre O? Does this mean I haven't ovulated? All my cramps and signs said I DEFINATELY did but temps aren't giving no indication...

???? We you not going to try this month or were you going for a crazily long cut off? 3 days is OK for girl isn't it? Not so many will have survived. I wanted to OPK+ one attempt but ended up with 3-4 cut off and loads of ladies here still think I have a chance:)

Looks like it is going to be a long wait for a few of us:)

Wasn't supposed to be trying this month! Plan was diet and supps for three months, try in April, but I got drunk and miscalculated O so voila!

I wanted to do so much more! Didn't do FR, didn't use all the lubes and fanny goo stuffs. Hopefully the timing plus diet and supps means we have reduced our fertility enough to sway pink, but, I generally think we are really fertile and need to do it all..... can but wait and see now. I'm sooooo impatient though lol!! I'm totally going to test from about 7dpo every morning!

That is exactly how my friend got her DD and she wasn't even swaying LOL. Alcohol sways pink if the man drinks it:)

Thanks :) Everyone has been so lovely, I feel like I let myself down, but I think that's just my personality. I'm going to try and look at the positive sway factors, rather than the negative, as someone else told me I have as much chance as anyone so fingers crossed for a foofy!

You are not alone - I jumped on DH too early and then went and made it worse by having a big O a few days later. I thought I was owed one after all the FR and general sexiness without one:) of course O actually happened a couple of days later.

Someone had this quote in their signature - life is what happens when you are busy making plans - lets just hope for pink!

Fanny goo!! Haha love it lol!!

I agree, going to be a very long wait :( I'm still waiting for my temps to rise too, so I'm still in lala land and not knowing...

DH always makes up somehow for his forgetfulness or mistakes and his pretty good at it lol, lets hope this mistake gets made up for with a dd

I have been curious about this. I always believed temps rose the day after O, and that O would happen within 12-36hrs of the first +OPK. But when the two don't coincide, which gives? I usually get 48 hrs of true positive opks, so I see a positive result on up to 3 separate days. My temp doesn't rise until the morning after the LAST positive OPK.

Could this be explained by ovulation happening within 36 hrs of the start of the LH surge, but the LH levels stay up anyway? And until the LH goes down, the progesterone doesn't rise to make the bbt rise? So the bbt jump might NOT always follow the day after O, but take a day or two longer to appear?

Alternately, and this makes equal sense to me, do the LH levels stay up because O hasn't happened yet and your body senses that it needs to pump in more LH to get the egg to leave the gate? If this is the case, the temp rise would be accurate, not the first positive OPK.

It CAN'T be explained. Both are plausible and are probably true at times. The real explanation that no one likes, is that there are literally a million billion kajillion different scenarios that could be and it all can vary by the person, by the month and even if you've had one pattern every month for your entire life there is nothing stopping your pattern from suddenly and unexpectedly changing.

Without an ultrasound, there is really no way to pinpoint O any more closely than what you've already done. The person who invents a way to do that is going to be a very rich lad or lady.

I got pregnant for my DD 2days before Oday. Couldn't dtd on O day cause I was ill. You have a great chance.
