Hi everyone,

I'm a proud momma of two girls! I have been thinking about number 3. I have lots of questions, but here is a little background info.

I'm 31

Two girls via c-section

Still on the pill(plan to stop after this pack)

Want a boy on the next try

Have a tilted uterus

Have psoriasis (using Clobex)

Have bad allergies (using Benadryl)

Have asthma (using ventolin)

Tried the BBT/CM documentation for 3 months prior 2nd pregnancy (temp very confusing/CM was always minimal)

First main question: where in the world can I find the meaning of all the acronyms being used? I've picked a few from going through some old threads.

What is the best way to chart BBT? I wake through the night a lot. My husband snores very loudly and I'm a light sleeper. I also sleep with a heating pad at my feet (hate socks). What can cause a bad reading? Me physically getting up or being awake? Can I take an accurate reading as long as I don't physically get up for several hours?

I want to try OPK this time around. I've read about Saliva OPK; what's your opinion? It's reusable, so it seems like a smarter investment since I plan to chart for at least 4 months before TTC. I want to try testing twice a day for several months w/BBT and CM to try to pin point my time of ovulation. I found that it was very difficult to figure my ovulation date w/ charting BBT. The temps were pretty even.

I will try the Mucinex this time too. Is there a better solution for allergies than benadryl? I'll to douche w/BS too.

Thanks for reading...I know its looonnnggg! BTW, we used Pre-seed w/ DD #2

Well I think your CM would always be minimal if you are on Benadryl...antihistamines dry up ALL mucus. This is actually a popular sway tactic for girl swayers - so if you're swaying boy see if you can drop it.

You saying your BBT was always pretty stable makes me wonder....were you using a theremometer made specifically for BBT charting? They are more sensitive than normal thermometers.

I wake often too, and work night shift. I find my bbt chart is probably more variable than other people's, but combined with cervical mucos and ovulation pee sticks, I get a good result. I just take my temp as soon as I wake up be it in the middle of the night or early morning, whenever I feel I've been at my deepest sleep. Always vaginally too as that seems to get the best result.

Thanks for responding. I will try and cut the allergy meds. I'll talk to the Dr and see if there are any other alternatives. How long should I be off of them before TTC?

I was using a BBT thermometer, but orally.

Is there a website that I can input all my data and it will translate and tell me when I O?

Try vaginally more consistent reading and don't have to worry about peeing or drinking

Anyone heard of/tried the saliva OPK? What do you think?

I tried feeling for my cervix, but nothing. Is it because I'm on the pill? How far up is it? I checked out some links, but it's still confusing. It talks about the cervix being high or low, but high/low compared to what? Does my tilted uterus affect where my cervix may be?
