If you could get your hands on some, would you take it?
My best friend has offered me a packet. She was prescribed it to help her conceive but they have decided to no longer try and she is concerned re the risk of cancer with it. I'm tempted. Its 50mg strength.
What do you all think? It seems like the best ever thing for a girl sway. Please don't judge me x

i did - although i got mine from the gp (with a couple of white lies) - took just for swaying reasons. Opinions on here are very mixed about taking it if you don't need it though but its a choice i made based on the evidence and a lot of deliberation - would do it again as well and it seems to have worked for me.
Have a look at my sway if you want and if you have any questions feel free to pm me - its not something i would recommend taking prescription drug7s without a prescription and not something i would normally do but its a choice a lot of girls have taken and if its right for you then chat to atomic and the other girls on here for advice first as they know what they are talking about
I took 50mg cd3 to cd 7, my doc was quite laid back about it said it was safe as drugs go and that it had been around for a long time. He didn't monitor me but i have read that its not something you should do if you are over a certain age (i think 35 but could be wrong although if you check out the clomid threads it will be in there) or if you take more than 50mg without monitoring.
Good luck with your sway x

Thankyou for such a nice response :). I'm going to take them off her and seriously consider it then. Ill definitely have a look at your sway. It must feel amazing knowing you've got a daughter coming after 3 sons- sometimes I feel like it may never happen for me and it gets me down. So I'm willing to try almost anything.
Thankyou again :-) xxx

Would be really grateful if atomic could chime in just to give me a bit if info on how to take it as safely as poss. I'd want to lower the risk of multiples as much as poss. If I do take it I will probably delay my sway a bit longer because my baby is only 7 months and if I did conceive twins I wouldn't want him to be any younger than two I think. I've read somewhere that days 5-9 is best to reduce chance of multiples, is this correct?

Thanks... I've read them, I just wanted to check which days to take it on as I'm a bit unsure of this... X

The other question I had was whether to take 25mg or 50mg. I know I'm on dodgy ground here because its not being taken with any official medical advice. I'm very fertile and have always gotten pg first month.

When prescribed most people take it CD 3-7 or CD 5-9. Also, you won't generally be prescribed 50mg if you've had no problems getting pg in the past, you would likely be prescribed 25mg.
Remember, I AM NOT A DOCTOR! Clomid can be very dangerous for some people, 1% of women taking Clomid suffer Ovarian Hyperstimulation requiring drainage.

If you have any problems when taking it go straight to your doc. He/she has to treat you even if the drug is not prescribed. Just go on about how desperate you were to conceive ( might be good not to go to your normal doc as you have a young baby). Not sure if I would take it or not - as much for the twin side effects as anything :)
