I've posted some pictures from our ultrasound, which was at 12+1 weeks. I'd appreciate everybody's guesses based on the skull and nub theories. Thanks!!

We're hoping for a girl, but trying not to get our hopes up too much :) Anyone know the accuracy of these prediction methods?

looks like a little girl - nubs are about 80% ish accurate (maybe slightly more) but if they are going to rise its the late 11th week, early 12th week but yours looks just like mine did - really flat, long and forked.
Dates are key here though as days do make a difference, with all my scans they have tried to move my dates forward although i knew with this one when i conceived as i was tracking ovulation - so if 12+1 is definitely right for you you stand a good chance at pink as when they look this flat at that stage it doesn't usually rise after (there is usually an indication its on the way up if its going to and they are not quite as flat - although yours is) and most at 12+1 that look really girly stay that way, although its not as definite as it would be at 13+.
Also if it looked like this throughout the ultra sound (without any hint of an angle) thats even better - everytime the nub is visible on my dvd its poker straight
Good luck, hope you hear pink

Looks like a girl! The accuracy is really high in studies of 'nubs' (more like 90+%; they do a lot more than look at angle in a still shot - they map out the nub on different dimensions to find the midpoint). I saw a conference presentation suggesting that in 'real' settings, nub guessing is less accurate but still really good. It gets more accurate at 13/14 weeks though, so yours is early.
