Hello everyone,
My name is Megan and I have been a lurker for some time now and I finally decided to join the forums.
I have 2 daughters, 3yr and 16 months and we would love to add a son to our family as we have decided to stop at 3 kids. My question to you all is...IS BSF HURTING MY CHANCES OF BECOMING PREGNANT?
I have used bsf for 4 cycles and I obviously am not pregnant yet. I am choosing not to use any preseed as both my daughters were concieved with preseed and on the first month of using preseed. I tried the swaying diet, but after 1 month of the diet I developed my first yeast infection EVER and I started having some palpatations and increased blood pressure from extra salt and potassium. On the diet I never saw much change in my pH but I am sure it may take longer to see a change in pH. My pH is very acidic even close to ovulation time, which is why I started doing bsf. I do have EWCM and I am pretty plentiful close to and on ovulation. I do basal temping and opks so I do know that I am ovulating and when. My cycles are usually predictable at 30/31 days. DH and I dtd the day of +opk and day of ov. I do bsf 1x 1hr previous to dtd. I will add that i suffered a mc 1 yr before my 1st dd was concieved and it took us almost a year to concieve her and the first month we used preseed we got pg. My 2nd dd was concieved when my 1st was 9mon and it was our first month ttc and we also used preseed. I cannot take many if any swaying supplements as I have hypothyroid disorder which is controlled with medication, and I was obviously able to concieve with hypothyroid disorder.
I guess I am just looking for some answers if possible. I am just getting a little impatient and tired of seeing bfns and getting my AF every month. I know it can take some time to concieve but I guess I would have thought by now I would have a bfp. If I stop bsf and just do preseed I stand a good chance at having another dd.
Any help or answers would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Hi,
I'm new here too. Have you thought of using a tiny bit of BS in the Pre-seed? I know I read that in one of the TTC Boy Intros. There is also Ural or Alka Seltzer Gold. BS douches too. I don't know if the BSF is hindering a BFP. Maybe try a different option? I really hope someone can help you. Good luck!

H, I don't have an answer for you but I have heard that bsf can kill sperm. I don't think using preseed will 100% mean girl, it just helps all sperm get through. Maybe you could try the HE diet and watch your potassium and sodium. Using more boy factors can help sway boy even if you are concerned about preseed. I used preseed with DD and I am using it again for a boy. Hopefully one of the more experience ladies will jump on and help. Good luck!

There are a few ladies on here that got their BFP after dropping the BSF.
What sway diet were you following that you had palpitations and high blood pressure. That is definitely not good for your health or your chances of having a boy. Have you had a look at the HE diet on here. It is high nutrients without being excessive like some of the diets.
Sorry that you don't want to use the preseed. I think it is a good sway factor and I used it in my successful sway. Are you taking the fish oil & EPO to help your EWCM.
I think that diet is the biggest sway factor though followed by the exercise.

I tried out the BSF and I kept getting BFN's as soon as I stopped it the following month I got a BFP. I truly believe in the HE diet, and you don't have to increase your salt intake at all,and also you don't have to try and get extra potassium since its in the food you eat, if you want to add a little extra try drinking coconut water since it has a fairly good amount without going overboard. I think the high salt thing is a myth in my opinion. If you are getting yeast infections on the diet then either add in a probiotic supplement or start eating some more yogurt, I would suggest greek yogurt since that has the highest protein in it. I would start doing some weight training, stick with the HE diet and if you don't want to use preseed then start taking a fish oil supplement, drink green tea and take mucinex to increase your EWCM. I used preseed in my sway since I don't get a lot of EWCM on my own. Also remember ideally you should be on the diet for a minimum of 6 weeks.

Did you realize there are TWO swaying diets?? The HE Diet that we use on this site you can use in a very heathful way. The traditional sway diet I think is terrible for health and a miracle that no one has died doing it.
There are also lots of supplements that are GREAT for your health that are fine to take with thyroid. Most of the people on this site do not use the baking soda drinks, COT, ASG type of stuff and you do not need to.
YES BSF prevents pregnancy. There is no reason why blue swayers should not get pg almost right away - that people are taking so long is because of antiquated sway tactics like BSF. We've had outstanding results using Preseed. It does NOT sway pink. That you got girls while using it, is because no sway tactic is a magic bullet. People have gotten girls using BSF too and it's a heck of a lot harder to get pg that way.
Here are some links to help you.

thank you for your responses.
I wasnt doing the HE diet but I will look into it. I definately do not want to gain weight but to maintain because I am already overweight. I was doing the traditional sway diet instead.
I did try to mix preseed and bs in Jan but I could not stand the odor it gave off when they combined, my dh even commented on the odor. Has anyone else encountered a weird odor combining bs and preseed?
I know you say that preseed DOES NOT SWAY PINK, and I am not arguing that as many people have had boys with preseed, but I had two girls using preseed with dtd on +opk day and ov day. I LOVE my dds but I would like a ds too. I am not opposed to using preseed but I guess I am apprehensive since I have 2 girls that were concieved in the first month of using preseed. I have started taking a multivitamin, fish oil, and folic acid supplements as I dont want to affect my thryoid by taking anything else.
Again thanks for the feedback as it is all welcome

If you are overweight you should not do the traditional sway diet because of all the sodium in it, it's very bad for blood pressure.
You can totally do the HE Diet without gaining weight, all you need to do is eat regular meals and snacks with both protein and carbs in them, and 9-11 servings of fruit and veg a day. These meals do not have to be huge, they can be small like 100-300 cals as long as you're eating regularly.
Re doing the opposite, I do understand that you look at Preseed and think that got you girls, but it was in spite of the Preseed, not because of it. You are of course welcome to use baking soda but I really really think it's preventing pregnancy for people.
Multivitamin, fish oil, and extra folic is really all you need. :agree: I would live a long and happy life if no one ever did ASG, BSD, COT, or Ural. I HATE that stuff and do not think it's safe.

Does this mean I'm likely to be having a girl, I used preseed for the first time ever and first month ttc and got bfp, I did do a little bsf before putting preseed,

No far more women on here have boys using preseed then girls. As atomic said on the thread below some women get girls in spite of using the preseed not because of it. I got my boy using it as part of my sway.

No, not at all. It is normal for blue swayers to get BFP very quickly, because many aspects of the boy sway boost fertility.
Most of the ladies on this site got boys using preseed

I got a bfp on first attempt ttcing once on O day using preseed, but ended up on chemical due to short LP of 10days. Preseed is really cool.

I agree with kikical, trying the HE diet and avoid plenty of sodium as sodium cannot get a boy. I ate lots of sodium and got a DD without even knowing anythn about swaying. HE everything diet, less sodium and use preseed might give u a blue. GDL dear.

Atomic, I'm confused now. Isn't increased sodium recommended for a boy sway?

Not really recommended on this forum, maybe on another one, you dont need to add sodium for a boy sway.

It's recommended on some sites based on really poor quality information. I don't recommend the sodium on this site. Very high sodium intake can affect your health negatively and inadvertently sway pink.
You don't need to eat tons of sodium or avoid it, just eat it to taste.

The first time I ever used preseed I conceived a boy. I didn't measure my pH or use bsf at any stage.

There were ladies who were actually putting salt into gelatin capsules and swallowing it like a pill trying to get 6000-8000 mg a day. Plus doing the baking soda drinks which have tons of sodium. Very dangerous.
