Hi ladies, I am a high techer but I've got a little hitch with my cycle that I want to resolve asap. I have an estrogen producing cyst or two, and I need them gone. I am on a weird herbal concoction from my acupuncturist, lupron, (a drug meant to suppress your own hormone functioning), danazol (weird- a drug like testosterone used to treat endometriosis growths, basically lowers estrogen), and DIM (lowers estrogen). What other estrogen lowering things am I forgetting about that I could run by my doc?

Hmmm.....I3C? Not totally sure about this but you could look into it. It reduces the bad estrogens but leaves the good estrogen alone. I take a supp called Estrosense by Lorna Vanderhaeghe . I think it's an amazing product:)
it helps with so many conditions, one of them being estrogen dominance. It has DIM and I3C in it.

There is a list of things that it helps when you scroll down the page.
I hope everything goes smoothly for you:) My fingers are crossed~~~

Never heard of I3C... will look into this. Also flax seed apparently binds to estrogen receptors and has the net result of lowering the estrogen you produce?

I love the more sleep. I had 2 days to do this so losing weight- maybe. But I'm pretty thin. Could have starved myself. Well, the drugs were enough and cyst is kaput. My acupuncturist did say something interesting as I ran the flax by him... he said if you do too many estrogen lowering things at once it actually might backfire on you, because some of these things will trick your body into thinking its making estrogen so it shuts down, which is great, but unless you know how to wean off them when pregnant, or if you stop too abruptly, you might create a flood of estrogen and really throw things out of whack. Interesting.

Oh, I'm sorry, the weight loss only matters if you have a few to lose obviously!! No need to starve yourself, it's excess body fat that makes excess estrogen in some people.

I was actually thinking the exact same thing as your acupuncturist - estrogen is funny that way which is why Clomid works!!! When you supress estrogen, even if only for a few days, your body really cranks it up!!
