Hi everyone,

I have two beautiful daughters and plan on ttc a boy later this year. I started researching on it and came upon this website. I've enjoyed the info I have received so far and have some questions:
- if your cm and your dm semen's ph is above 9, do youstill need to take the supplements/diet
- when doing the extreme gender swaying, can you add baking soda solution to the selected semen to the increase the chances of swaying blue?
- is there a link to the page where i can get step by step instructions on how to do the 2 methods for ttc boy?
- does soy isoflavones sway blue and has anyone had or know someone who has had twins while on soy isoflavones?

will appreciate answers and know that i'll still have more questions as i research further.

Thanks

Hi and welcome!

- swaying is not about pH only, so the answer is YES, you should do the diet as it is the most important part of the sway.
What supps are you planning to take?
Folic Acid (FA) is MUST when TTC a boy.
Here are the links foe supps http://genderdreaming.com/forum/showthread.php?2318-Links-to-supplements-for-swaying
and about diet and nutrients http://genderdreaming.com/forum/showthread.php?2316-Links-to-info-about-food-and-drink! and http://genderdreaming.com/forum/showthread.php?2315-Links-to-info-about-nutrients

- do you mean TBM? Here is the link http://genderdreaming.com/forum/showthread.php?2598-how-to-do-TBM-and-why-you-probably-shouldn-t-do-it-for-gender-swaying

-for your last q I don't have the answer, but I'm sure it was on the threads somewhere...

If I may suggest for you to read the Sticky's 1st, all info you need is there :luck:

ZB did a great job with your other q's so I thought I'd just chime in on soy. The soy thing is up in the air; some feel it sways blue and some feel pink. It can definitely mess with your ovulation by delaying it or moving it up. I don't personally know anyone who has twins that took soy, but have heard anecdotally that it can up the odds ... that said I doubt soy in and of itself is a leading cause of twins or you'd see a whole lot more press about it. Anyhow I do know of a handful of boy sways from another site that took soy and also got boys. But who knows if it was the soy or the diet or what?!? So many factors.

FWIW I am swaying blue and I did take soy one cycle just to see what it did for me... I had no changes whatsoever, so opted not to take it. Perhaps had I continued it more than one cycle it would have impacted my cycle, but honestly I have some concerns re: soy so didn't want to mess around with it much.

Hi and welcome!

1) Yes, you still need to do diet 110% because no one knows if it is really pH that sways or some other factor. I would also still take supps that help with sperm count/quality, increasing EWCM, and boosting egg health.

2)We don't do EGS here and I would not add baking soda to semen ever because it will kill sperm (which sways pink regardless of pH) I do have a post about TBM which I will link to below.

3)Soy may or may not sway blue. The verdict is still out on that. It may be that only taking them for 5 days doesn't sway either way.

Wow!! Thanks everyone for the warm and quick response. Its nice to feel welcome and I appreciate all your answers. I'm still new to all this and I'm researching to prepare myself for october (fingers crossed). I'll definitely be adding FA to my list of supplements (thanks for the info), how many milligrams is required for a sway?
-since i plan to ttc in october, when will be the best time to start the diet?

For a blue sway, you want to take some extra folic acid, in the neighborhood of 2000 mcg (that's micrograms) or 2 milligrams. This is because the additional sodium in the boy diet makes you excrete folic acid at a higher rate.

For best absorption with the folic, break it up into 4 or 5 doses...the pills usually come in 400 mcg so you could take one with breakfast, one with lunch, one in the afternoon, at dinner and then before bed.

October is actually the "magic" boy month!! I would start the diet in August for best results.

Wow! I'm off to a good start then, I guess October must be my lucky month. Is there a way to determine the O day using opk otherthat assuming it will occur 12-36 hours after the first positive test?

No, but all you need to do is BD 12 hours after the first OPK, that way you guarantee you will hit the day before O/day of O time frame without risking missing O!
