Hiya ladies,

I have decided to join this site as I so desperatley need some advice from you all :hug2:

I have an AMAZING son who I love with all my heart and more.

We have decided to TTC for another baby, my period is due in just over a week adn we will try and concieve thereafter.

I am still breatfeeding my 8 month old son but my cycles have returned, albeit a little longer, and he only feeds from me about 4/5 times within 24 hours with 3 food / solids meals a day.

I honestly thought I wasnt bothered about the gender of my next LO, and deep down obviously I wouldnt be upset if we had another boy but my heart does want a girl... I feel bad just typing this! :worry:

I am thinking of crash dieting and having sex every day after period until after ovulation... anything else I can do? I dont want to take supplements etc as im breastfeeding... nor do I want to douce...

There is so much info I get so confused as to what basic things I can do... will these changes make enough of a change for when we TTC in the middle of May (when I think I will ovulate)...

Please help ladies... I will really really really apperciate it!!!

xxx

I dont think you are giving yourself enough time to sway. But there are lots of families who have pigeon pairs without doing much different in their lifestyles.

We've been seeing best results with a bit longer on diet BUT if you want to go for it, my advice would be use an antihistamine, RepHresh, stick with one attempt and do a jump and dump afterwards.

It would only be a couple of weeks and with an egg life cycle of 90 days, 2 weeks isn't going to be enough time to make a big impact IMO.

You might not get pg the first month so it is totally worth starting the diet even if you don't want to wait. BTW one attempt means just have sex once.

Oh Im so confused... I know time isnt on my side but with a month to go until we can go for it what is the BEST way to maximise my chances.

Feel very deflated now :-(

Sorry it took me a few days to get back to you.

antihistamine = a medication dries up your cervical mucus. Can take 5 days before ovulation, do not take after ovulation

RepHresh = a jelly that lowers vaginal pH and makes it hard for sperm to swim. Use 8, 12, or 24 hours before your attempt.

jump and dump = getting up right after intercourse and wiping away excess semen OR after 5 min and wiping away excess

One attempt = having one ejaculation inside of you in your fertile window, rather than having sex several times. Your fertile window goes roughly form O-3 thru O day, so instead of having sex 2,3,4, times, you'd just have sex ONCE.

It is always an option to start diet even very shortly before you TTC, because most people don't get pg the first month out.
