Our DD has been sick with colds the last few weeks and somehow passed on to me Fifths Disease...diagnosed today after fever, body aches, and rash since late Friday evening. At any rate, does ANYONE know if this will prevent me from getting pregnant this month? I ovulated on Friday at some point and we had 3 attemps in 24 hour window after positive OPK PRIOR to me getting achy and fever. I told the dr today that we had just tried for a baby and she told me it would be completely fine because this will be gone before I will even know if I am pg or not, but am just wondering if anyone knows anything about this or if our bodies don't let us get pregnant with something like this going on??? I felt completely fine until late Friday and the dr said that I should be over it in a few more days. I am so freaking depressed because it has been one thing after another and both DH and I were feeling SO GOOD about this month. DH thinks for sure this is the month for us - but now I am just scared that my body will do something crazy. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!

If anyone has any thoughts, I would so appreciate it. Trying to cling to hope that we could still see a BFP in 10 days or so...2 DPO today.

I was sick with a horrible cold the month I got my BFP, I wouldn't worry about it if the dr said it would be fine.

Both myself and DH were really sick with colds the month we got our BFP too. We even missed out on DTD on O-1 we were feeling so bad.

Fingers crossed for your BFPin a few days

Was terribly sick when I got BFP for my DD. The doc, wanted to place me on antibiotics, I informed him I maybe pregnant. He carried out a pregnancy test (urine) and it was -ve. I insisted it was too early obviously less than 5dpo, he placed me on baby medicatn treatment. After 16dpo, I had a home test which confirmed +ve. You might get a bfp. GDL dear and get well soon.

Thanks ladies! That gives me some hope back. Does anyone know, though, if I had a fever of 102-103, would that kill any sperm that made it inside or is there potential that they would have been just fine? I did treat the fever the best I could with tylenol but it still would spike up there at times. Just wondering if that high of a body temp would kill the sperm inside me anyway. Sigh.

Dloui and Pearl - did you have fevers when you were O?

I had a slight fever. About 38.5 C in the evenings. I was taking paracetamol to keep the temp down and get through the day. I was also taking quite a bit of cough syrup which may have helped

There is no way to know for sure, the body is a weird thing and doctors don't know more than a fraction of how it all works.

FX for the best possible outcome, whehter that's BFN or BFP!!!

Keep in mind that sperm take 72 days to form and if fever could kill them all off, every time a guy had a virus he would lose all his sperm. That doesn't happen so I think you are good to go. FX.
