View Full Version : How do I know if my sway is working?

I'm trying to gauge my progress w/pH and CM. Is there anything else I should be looking at to know if I'm on the right track? BTW, I think I'm going to scream...My pH is 7.5ish. I eat too many boy fruits and veggies unfortunately. My cal, sodium, protein and fat intakes are low but it must be the other stuff. I have no clue what my pH was before I started trying the girl diet.

pH is the least thing to worry about because it has far and away the least amount of scientific evidence backing it up.

Your temps might go up a bit, but if they don't, don't worry about it.

Are you noticing whether you are calmer, or you have less body hair?? This can indicate your T levels are dropping.http://genderdreaming.com/forum/showthread.php?582-Physical-symptoms-of-high-and-low-testosterone-in-women

That makes me feel better. Should I worry if my pH never gets down to 4-5? Here's what I've got going on (from the link you posted above):

- "Lower testosterone can cause feelings of indecisiveness, depression, and lack of motivation." Sounds like me lately...:(
- Slow hair growth...YAY!
- Definitely calmer for the most part the last few wks, although I get really cranky w/low blood sugar.
- Low libido...I'd rather just watch TiVo or sleep. How sad is that! Poor, poor DH.:sadflwr:

The only liquid I'm drinking is Peppermint Tea.

Thx so much for your help, Atomic!

You will KNOW when it's working. You start walking away from things that you would NEVER have walked away from.

In terms of a sway, let me tell you what happened shortly before I conceived my DS 4. My pH was great, I had lost weight and done a lot of things exactly right and I felt pretty good about my sway. But I still had a lot of muscle mass and my personality was just as feisty as ever. I was getting into arguments daily on IG, researching swaying constantly and answering q's just like I do here, getting uptight over stuff my parents did and said, and then this neighbor kid stole my son's tires off his car and I stalked him all over town for a few days trying to get evidence so we could call the cops. Not exactly the behavior of someone whose testosterone had gone down. So in retrospect, it was probably not that huge a surprise that my sway failed and it probably had nothing to do with gaining a few pounds or getting pg on my swaying break, it was the testosterone all the way.

Then I gained 70 pounds with him and lost them again and have gone through some hard times, and I am somehow just not the same person I was then. My personality is the same, it's just not as strong as it was before. I've walked away from some fights that the old Kristin never would have. I've still gotten in some squabbles here and there, but not the way I would have before. It's just a different feeling and maybe I can't really even express it in words but it's there. Now, we'll never know what would happen if I TTC now but I kinda suspect my odds of pink are higher than they have been in the past.

I appreciate your responses, ELP and Atomic...That really helps put me at ease. I used to feel my BP go up when DS#1 would whine, etc....now I just take another sip of Peppermint tea and sigh, lol.

I'm so glad I found this! Uma you are not the only one Hun. I know I have been on the diet for just shy of two weeks (so not that long) but I took my CM PH and it was around 7 and I was really disappointed. Maybe I didn't give it enough time and two weeks just isn't long enough but I did feel a bit disheartened.

On the other hand in regards to Testosterone I feel like a completely different person. Today my kids broke a picture frame that DH brought me years ago. Instead of screaming my head off at them I calmly swept it up and told them not to worry!!! I mean WTH that's not like me at all!!!

Not too sure about DS3 but def with conceiving DS1&2 I was super stressed.

Testosterone-wise, I hear you! I actually feel great other than this kind of apathy (best way I can describe it) I have towards sex, yoga, taking a walk, etc. On Monday, I started potty-training DS#1 and it's been a piece of cake...seriously! The old me would have been going crazy and really stressed! I know it's been easy and pretty much effortless b/c DS#1 sensed that I was completely unstressed about it and so he was as well. It's actually be a wonderful bonding experience. YAY for Peppermint tea!

When we conceived DS#1, I was under HIGH OCTAINE STRESS so it's no wonder he was a boy! DS#2 was conceived under no stress at all but I'm sure I naturally had higher testosterone than most since I'm just competitive by nature. Right now, I'm feeling great. Atomic has given me so much info and wisdom that I just feel like I've gotten all I need and will just go w/the flow when O is near. I'll still try to lose up to 5lbs before late May while keeping most of the girl diet but I'm not worried like I was a month ago. In another post, Atomic had said to "do what feels right at the time"...That's my credo and it gives me so much peace. I know I may never get my girl but I know I'll get the sweet little soul(s) I was meant to get.

3boys, I'm sending you TONS of PINK DUST.....:cheer::babygirl::luck::HH:

Atomic, thanks so much for your patience and wisdom! XX

So maybe something working for me too???Im only doing the diet for like 3 weeks now. Usually I don't like to do much I only do it because I love clean and hate mess so must do things... But for like a week now i do so much stuff!(even gardening ) and all this with 4 kids and a dog lol
For example today I waked up fixed up the rooms , made breakfast , washed the floor ,dust everything, made snack , did laundry, I went out and cleaned the car then washed it , did another laundry and made lunch. And it's only 2 pm. I also want to wash all the windows today ( no idea why) and paint eggs with the girls do dinner and maybe iron some cloths.
Oh I also give chores to the kids ( and they have to do it no talking back like before) everyone have to listen to me and better don't get me angry.lol

Atomic, what about if that isn't your personality to begin with. I have never liked confrontation and wont even send food back at a restaurant if I don't like it (only if it's like a totally wrong order) I mean, I'm not a door mat, but things just never bother me that much to begin with. I have a pretty even temper and stuff just slides off me. Is that more of a personalty trait and less of a T thing? On the other hand, since swaying I just don't have motivation to clean the house like crazy and have everything in its place. I am a very orderly person and everything has the correct place. Shoes off in my house, kitchen sink empty and I organize everything. Well, that was the old me. Now i'm just like whatever, I'll get to it when I get to it. I find that I don't obsess if the house is a mess. Do you think my T is down??? that's a major difference I have noticed!!!

Hey, GG...I'm the same way. I'm always embarrassed to send food back and if I see trouble coming, I cross the street, if you know what I mean. I am competitive, though, especially when it comes to sports. That's where the tiger comes out but not really w/the other stuff. IMHO, it sounds like you're on the right track...I think Atomic means it's kind of like you've kind of taken a "chill-pill" and things are different. I used to make sure the dishes were always washed as soon as we were done eating and clothes were hung/folded as soon as they came out of the dryer. It would kind of get under my skin if I didn't do these things right away. Now, it seems it really doesn't bother me anymore if I don't get to these things. I'm so easy going about that stuff and DH has definitely noticed. Sounds a bit like your situation, although you're probably preggers right now (FX!!!) and I'm definitely not. If you were taking things to get your T down, there's probably no doubt your T has lowered. Hope this helps. Atomic can correct me if I'm wrong and undoubtedly add more insight/clarity.

Sending you PINK BFP DUST!

Thanks SO much! yes, I have become more mellow with the things I was competitive with before so maybe that is a sign that T levels were down. I guess you could say I'm not as anal:rofl: Good luck with your sway and keep us posted!!!!!

I think each of us have our own unique personalities and so we shouldn't necessarily look at anyone else's personality to compare. You have to look at what you were like before and what you're like now and see if there's any changes. For me, I am super competitive and argumentative, but not so much uptight about the house and things (usually because I'm too busy being competitive and argumentative LOL). And that's where I saw the changes taking place. But I can totally see how it would be different for another person who has different priorities and different lifestyle.
