Hi,
I hope I can post it here, dont know where else?
Well, I started loosing hair when my youngest son was 4 months, now he is 3 years and I feel that it has not stopped! Every time I took a shower or combed my hair, I picked up handfulls!
Well I tried B-vitamins,Nisim shampoo, nothing helped.
In january I bought minoxidil/rogaine which is a topical solution to stop and prevent hairloss. You are supposed to rub it on your scalp twice a day. Unfortunately in my country, we can only buy 5% solution. It is bought over the counter, you dot need prescribtion.

Well at first, I started loosing more and thought this is strange! I started to read more about this and found out that this was normal and a sign of the medic working bcz the weak hairs were fallibg off. I used it for 2 months, i could see small hairs growing where I only had scalp and a little on my forehead. Then I started noticing more on my chin and sideburns! I have definately more hair on my face now! Changed to 2% now, which I bought in the US. I am too afraid of stopping cold tirkey bcz they claim all te new hair will fall off bcz it is now dependet on minoxidil :(

I am planning to only use it once daily. Clearly there is some aborption through blood******. Then I will stop taking it 1month before TTC. I hope I will have my face back and if I get PG it will stop my hair from falling of bcz of pregnancy hormones.

I just had to write it somewhere....had I known abt this side effect, I would think twice before starting....

Have you had your thyroid checked?

Try food elimination too. Some typical food can have drastic affects on different people.

DD2 drank milk when she was little but her hair was falling out constantly. I took her off of cow's milk and put her on Almond milk and she has looked like a dandelion ever since with so much hair growth. Who knew milk would affect her that way??? Doctors tell me that isn't a typical reaction to milk allergy but not drinking milk helps her have hair on her head so I don't care what the doctors say!!

You never know what is bothering your system and it is usually something in our intestines that is causing the problem

AGree with NBP, have thyroid checked too.

Hope that helps!!!

Thanks a lot, I will surely do that!
NBP, which way do you think minoxidil sways? If it is absorbed systemically, it inhibits testosterone somehow....

Hair loss after pregnancy is due to a big decrease in estrogen and is pretty typical. It can last for 12 months or so but anything beyond that, I would get my thyroid checked. I would ask atomic the swaying question!
