I was thinking of using clomid to sway but saw that it might cause autism. Does anyone have any insight on this?

Most of the people who need Clomid in order to conceive, have issues with fertility for some reason to begin with - age, health problems, unusual hormone profiles, etc. It is very likely the reasons WHY most people take Clomid that are an increased risk of autism and nothing to do with the Clomid itself.

I've never heard that... But having autistic children I wouldn't do it If I heard that... But also everything these days cause something... Peanut butter causes cancer.... Everything does something... Try to relax and just do what your comfortable with

Peanut butter DOES cause cancer!! A natural fungus that grows on peanuts causes it and it's estimated that millions of people have died from this fungus worldwide. I used to buy these big vats of peanut butter and my older sons ate tons of it growing up. Probably they will both get liver cancer when they're 55. :( Best to buy small containers of PB and use it up quickly once it's been opened.

Peanut butter causes cancer? Nooooooo!

Anyway, everything causes autism these days. With my 22 year old I didn't even take an aspirin during pregnancy and he turned out severely autistic. I don't really think they can yet pinpoint what is causing the increase in autism. I say if you absolutely need clomid, go ahead and take it.

Yes exactly and with my oldest I was 16 and didn't know I was preg for 16 weeks and during those 16 weeks I smoked pot daily.. Drank a bit... Took magic mushrooms I think three times and he's perfectly fine... My second son I wouldn't even touch a Tylenol wouldnt touch anything with caffiene and he is severely autistic.. Third son same thing... Autism again.... This baby fingers crossed he is not autistic... I'm far less crazy pregnant lady this time as I will take a Tylenol for my headaches Zantac for heart burn... I figure why suffer a third time

But yes they don't know what causes it so they say everything does and honestly when u look at a lot of the information it's very contradicting

Good luck :)

My son has autistic traits and i did everything by the book whilst carrying him, never even took paracetamol unless it was a dire emergency. Was much more normal with ds3 and ate normal levels of salt, caffine etc that i avoided with ds1 and he is fine.

They don't know what causes it so they look for patterns but its one of those things, there are so many kids with it these days so a pattern can be found anywhere, mostly its just coincidence.

On the other hand, there are a lot more girls born to moms on clomid than boys yet girls are less likely than boys to suffer with autism

Agree 100%.

Yes, a mold that can grow on peanuts and some grains, makes a toxin that causes cancer. It is more likely in equatorial countries and in things that are left out in less than ideal conditions a long time (stored for many years) and luckily, most of the companies in the US/UK/Aus/Europe do not store their peanuts for very long at all and they use very good storage methods that prevent it from happening.

Now as for those gallon sized buckets of peanut butter I had moldering on my shelf for months while my boys were growing up - hmmm... Now I buy the smallest size available and try to use it up quick.

The only way to def say domething about a causal relationship is a randomized controlled trial and i seriously doubt this design will pass any ethical committe. So i think this relation comes from an observational study and then it is no more than a relionship.

Imagine someone has lung cancer, then one could find a relion with 'having cigarettes in your pocket', the actual underying mechanism being the smoking itself causing the cancer.

So i agree with atomic that probably something else is underneath this. Do you have a link to the study?

Yes, and maybe even more so because of the lack of preservatives. :$
