I put on 3-5lbs but it was all muscle since I was weight training during it. Do you have access to dumbells or could you go out and buy some? You can do anything really around the house, push ups, squats, lunges arm presses, carrying your kids up and down the stairs, squat with them hanging on to your back, arm dips off a chair or your couch.

I have gained about 7 pounds, hopefully most of it muscle?
30 Day Shred is a good program to give you some ideas of what to do. Everything dloui said is great. I also do calf raises and push-ups on the stairs sometimes.
To involve the kids I will let them crawl back and forth under me while I'm in plank position or just have a dance party with them.

I gained 8lb mostly muscle. I was swinging a 10kg kettlebell 3 times a week. You see great results fast with kettlebells. I started them as a way to tone up after DD was a few months old and ended up with my most ripped body ever

Weird I swear I answered this!! Sorry.

I would go for a walk for 30-40 min. 4-5 days a week, then do some easy things at home like lunges, squats, arm presses (you can use cans as weights) push ups, sit ups. Plus going up and down steps is great.

gaining 3-5 lbs is great, I don't advise gianing much more than 10-15 lbs (5-7 kilos)
