I suspect my DH has/had high pH all along, and possibly did for our sway attempt. I bought test strips from eBay and I'm thinking maybe they were inaccurate. How are you testing your DH's pH?
Your DH may want to go to the doctor to be checked out and ruled out for a possible infection. A pH of 9 is a bit high though. Don't worry too much about this right now. If you're going to have DH take cranberry or baby aspirin and licorice root, that should help negate the high pH. Good luck with your girl sway!!

For LR, DH should take it from AF - O or 14 days after your last period. Cranberry he can take all the time but make sure he's not taking too much of it! I think DH started taking LR and cranberry about 2.5 months before our attempt. We find out what we're having on the 24th... I'm so nervous!!!
My sway is posted in the TTC Girl Sways forum feel free to read it for ideas. Good luck!

Personally I do not believe pH has much at all to do with gender swaying, at least not in a straightforward way. Both X and Y sperm do best in pH in the 7's; neither X nor Y like very high or very low pH.
Your pH of 5 is perfectly fine. Studies have shown that if your pH is below 6 in the cervix, you will have NO motile sperm in there - not X or Y. NO sperm like pH that low, it just isn't true.
Very high pH is probably no better for sperm than very low pH is.
You may need to have DH go to the doctor because sometimes a high pH can be becasue he has an infection in his testicles.

It has nothing to do with his overall health, he can have a low grade chronic infection in there that will not go away without treatment. He would have no symptoms of this.

My DH had higher pH too and he went to see his doctor after we tested to rule out any infections or issues. He was fine it turns out, but best to get it checked out just in case!

I've always doubted the pH thing too. I certainly wouldn't waste my time checking cervical mucous or anything, because if it's good enough for an X to get through, then surely it's good enough for a Y to get through. After researching Shettles for a while (including taking out his book in the library) I call utter rubbish because most of what he says purely doesn't make sense. When you think about nature, why would a specific vaginal environment actually favour X or Y sperm? If that was the case then the cut off of 2 days (more likely to result in pregnancy) would mean the gender imbalance would mean less boys, but this isn't the case. The science just doesn't back up what Shettles says. Also, why the hell would ions affect the gender outcome? I know plenty of people who have lavender around the house and still have boys! I can understand nail varnish or hair dye because you're inhaling harmful chemicals, thus swaying girl but lavender. By the way, the lavender example was taken from IG.
Shifting onto the French Gender diet, I actually think it's just an altered version of the Shettles Method. The diet seems relatively similar and the theory revolves around the same thing. Why can't you have bread or cheese when swaying girl? The simple answer is that you can and it won't affect the sway all that much.

Well said!! After wasting a year of my life trying to get a bfp via the Shettles & Ig diet methods I'm so happy that I found this forum!!! Successful gender swaying just HAS to be simple & common sense as otherwise there would be too much of a skewed ratio of boys to girls. I don't believe in any of the ions/ph stuff either. Millions of baby girls are conceived without the parents even knowing about that stuff. :D

^^^yes exactly, thanks for sharing!! Varicocele can cause both high ph and more girls. It's NOT about the pH, it's about the sperm health/count/quality and that can actually be lower in men with high pH, and lower sperm count/qualtiy can sway pink. (not with 100% accuracy as you can attest)

Atomic.... Past month we did everything right O was perfect and still AF showed yesterday!!! I think OH swimmers are to blame as all my numbers are good!! His count is high but his motility is a 3 which I feel means more girls anyway?? But his abnormality is 81% his Uroligist said it not bad cuz of his high count??!?? I'm wondering if there are techniques to use for this kind of issue!!! We BD everyday 1 wk before O I J&D every other time cuz of the SA and used Rephresh or Aci-jel and used my Diva to give them extra time??!!?
What r we doing wrong??

Even in fully fertile couples, without varicocele and doing nothing to sway, it can normally take 3-6 months to fall pregnant. It probably jsut wasn't your month.
I would not have you BD every day. Switch to having DH release on his own every 2-4 days, and then go for one attempt at pos OPK. Believe it or not, you actually have better odds that way because DTD daily can cause sperm numbers to get severely depeleted.
When are you using Acijel/RepHresh, how often, how much???
Don't use the Diva. You end up sealing your cervix SHUT and preventing the swimmers from getting into the cervix. Just stay laying flat for 5-15-30 min after your one attempt.

Thanks for the Input... I was using the diva after Bd just to keep the swimmers from running Away!!! Lol
My cervix is tilted so I feel like everything just runs out... W my recent MC I layed in the bed ALL day to fall PG!!
His count is high I think 125million but the abnormalities is 81% we where doing FR cuz DS was a one night wonder!! ;)
I was using 1/3 tube of Rephresh every other day and used a finger of Aci- gel after BD!!
Think I'm just going to use Aci-Gel this month 1/4 a tube every other day or hrs b4 BD!!
I'm afraid the Rephresh caused to much of a barrier cuz it turns into that white jelly after a bit!!
Thanks again for your input we will try a few alteration this month!!

All that comes out after 15-30 min. is just semen and bad sperm. All the good sperm already went up into the cervix. You do not need and shoudl not use the Diva cup. You certainly don't need to stay in bed all day.
I have a badly tilted cervix too and I have gotten 5 kids with that! that's not how it works (if it was, no one would ever get pg.)
That is A LOT of Acijel. Personally I do not recommend acijel after BD, I think it kills practically everything. Acijel is just as bad for conception as RepHresh, if not even worse.
