There was similar thread on IG, and I found it very interesting http://yoursmiles.org/psmile/science/p0317.gif (http://yoursmiles.org/p-science.php?page=)
For example, there was this lady on IG who was pagan. I was like ??????, I thought it doesn't exist anymore, so I asked her to tell me more, and she was very kind and explained her and her husband's beliefs ( most in nature and its forces) ( she had smiling cloud on her avatar, was swaying blue)

Orthodox Christian here!

I am Roman Catholic but we (hubby and I) have other beliefs. We have a 5ft Viking God statue in the garden, pagan statues and pictures, Catholic crosses in almost everyroom, and a few other religous items around. We do go to church but we practice all holidays for almost all religions... Jewish, Catholic, Viking, Pagan, Buddist, but we have books that teach the basics all religions like Mormonism, Muslim and so on.

I believe all religions are linked. As a Christian I can not just practice what a church sees as Christian because Judaism came before that. The bible I read has the stories that are linked to Jewish holidays. I believe in teaching my kids everything and letting them find there own beliefs. Religion is a choice!!!

I have no idea! I'm a very spiritual person :) I believe in mediums, ghosts etc. I love Pagan beliefs and they seem to fit closely with what I believe. My mother is Anglican and my father is Atheist. I was very anti-religion in my teen years...all thanks to my father. I still don't like it when other people push their beliefs and tell me that I'm going to suffer when I don't believe what they believe and I have to say that I'm not a big fan of organized religion. I pretty much keep my spirituality to myself and discuss it with others that are open-minded. I love to discuss other beliefs and explore my own inner thoughts. After watching the movie Avatar, I realized that the way the Navi people live(in the movie) is the way I would LOVE to live. Connected to nature, other beings/animals, living in complete harmony with each other and the world. Sometimes I feel that I wasn't meant to be here at this time...that I would be better off a few hundred years ago as a "witch" or medicine woman. I also believe in reincarnation:) I think that this life is one of the first lives(of many that I've had so far)that I can truly do a lot with what I've been given:) It's all very exciting and I'm extremely excited about my future:)

My dad was never religious when I was growing up, he has recently started going to church. When I last talked to him he was mentioning something he heard in church...bla bla bla... my boys were screaming at the time. I remember a little but I commented that God has many names and faces, he can be found in every thing including plants and stars, man and animal, etc. To say that God is best served in church is false because if you look hard you will find him all around. I told my dad to go in his backyard, close his eyes, and think in his mind that when you open your eyes you will see God all around.

I do it everyday before I wake up and when I go outside... I see God in my family, my dog, the trees, flowers, and even the dirt. So many people think that you only need to say you believe but they never show it on a daily basses.

I told you it's interesting!
Belle, are you traditionally Orthodox, or you became later in your life?
I was raised as atheist ( it was socialism time while I was growing up), and when I was 17, I've discovered religion. I was thrilled! I was baptized at the age of 22. Our girls were baptized as babies and we (try to) go to the church every Sunday. DH also discovered Christianity as an adult.
Most of the people here are 'traditionally Orthodox', and consider themselves Christians without having a clue what that means.
Orchid are you practicing Hindu? Do you have the temple near or some sacred place?
DoulaMama I understand where you're coming from, I also love to discuss diff beliefs ( more diff-I like it more!) and explore my spirituality. I *sort of* believe in reincarnation, sometimes it makes lots of sense ( my SIL has nightmares from World War 2 since she was very little, sometimes she even sees people when she wakes up)

Purplepoet - yes ITA, God is all around us, esp in nature. I was always feeling, even when I was small pioneer at the time, that there MUST be one Mighty Creator behind all this magic that surrounds us.

Light - I don't know much about Islam ( I'm not proud of that fact) , but I do know I enjoy chatting w/you and aabroo ( what's going on w/her btw?)

I really don't know what I am. I love learning about new religions.

The hubby's mom is on us to find a church around here and start going.

I believe in reincarnation because it gives me hope that my family who has passed away is out in the world... my grandparents, sister, a few cousins who passed as babies, my pets that were my best friends, and mostly my 1st son.

You should keep looking for yourself and your family. Don't let anyone pressure you because later you will hate it. You will find it when you are ready to dedicate your soul to it.

Myself and my husband are atheists. I don't see how there can be so many god's in this world. You can't blame god on everything that goes right or wrong. Shit happens!
But I respect people who have their beliefs. :)

I am not very religious. My dad is an athiest and mom very religious Hindu and I am somewhere in between. There is a beautiful temple where I live. I love going there, it is so quiet and peaceful and I love the smell of incense but I dont find myself praying much. My father believes in being a good human being first and everything else comes that. I think as I am getting older I am agreeing with him.

i strongly believe religion is personal choice and should not b forced.
personally i feel when you obey a religion which gives you calmness and satisfaction about everything ,thats for you ..... in my every crises and sorrows i feel calmness in prayers and that gives me satisfaction,

i believe if i didnt ve son last time just coz i didnt pray for boy else i did everything , a strict swaying, this time i am more in praying than swaying ... u can call me religious ;)
last i had chat with her she was on bed rest coz of bleeding , now i am also curious about her, hope everything is ok with her.

Sometimes the best thing about religion is you can release stress with prayer and place your life, hopes, and dreams in someone elses hands.... But since God/Gods are busy taking care of others who are a little more needy. We need to do a little to help ourselves get the gender we have been praying for. Just remember not to curse God/Gods if he doesn't answer your prayers.

I was raised a Catholic but in the past few years I've studied Nichiren Buddhism. I'm beginning to just believe in good vs. bad with no labels attached. There are so many things about organized religion I just don't agree with (no offense, anybody).

No offense at all. I believe in a personal relationship w/ my savior, not an organized religion. I think there is a big difference.

This has been really interesting! Thanks for sharing. I was raised methodist christian. I am a believer in the power of a spiritual life, however my Christian upbringing never really felt like the right way for me. I have had a few experiences with meditation and prayer which were very very intense and powerful, however I don't consider myself a follower of any particular religion.
