Hi there, We are on the IG diet and have managed to cut the salt completely out of our diet (a huge achievement for me, I love salt - everyone knows that!!). I am very lucky in that DH is fully onboard with the diet too but am now running into major problems - what do we tell people about why we arnt/cant eat so and so. And we have to go to a friends (but not that closer friend) place for dinner soon... eeep what do you guys do and tell??
We really really dont want to tell people the real reason for the diet coz that will just end up with countless comments when/if it doesnt work!
Many thanks

On a low fat diet, gone vegetarian, getting over food poisoning, detoxing/ health drive worked for me:) One meal won't make a difference though so you can afford to relax. Eat less than normal at lunch so you have loads left for dinner. Not sure if you are giving up alcohol but weirdly when people saw me having a glass if wine they stopped worrying about what I was or wasn't eating.

Well, after getting my 4th son while limiting sodium, I didn't limit sodium at all and got my DD that way.

I personally think one meal of eating salt will not undo an otherwise good sway. You can just have the side dishes and not the main course if you are avoiding meat, and it's easy if you don't worry about the sodium. Or, plan for a cheat by limiting foods the the rest of the day.

I do hope you're eating at least SOME sodium, your body needs it to function normally, esp. with summer coming up.
