View Full Version : Please help. Am I jumping the gun?

So this past week I found out that I still have cervical dysplasia. It has been a year and it is staying the same. My OB/GYN is talking to me about getting a LEEP procedure done. However I don't want to get this done until we get pregnant again and have another baby. I know the wait time after you have a LEEP to get pregnant is 6 months and I just am not willing to wait that long. DD is going to be 6 in November and in my opinion we have already waited to long to give her a sibling. And because of the risks that come along with a LEEP I want to have a baby before I have one done. So here is what I want to know from you ladies. We weren't going to TTC until July. But for obvious reasons now I am wanting to do it possibly in these next few weeks. I started the HE diet the beginning of this month. I have gone from never eating breakfast to eating it everyday pretty much within an hour of waking up. I have been on these supps since December (these supps are supposed to help "clear" dysplasia and some of them just happen to be on the boy sway list) Magnesium, Multi, Beta Carotene, Zinc, Folic Acid, Fish Oil - Flaxseed - Borage Oil, and Super B-Complex. I have been taking those almost daily since Christmas. Sometimes forgetting for a few days.I haven't done any workouts at all in the last month. (I normally do 30 min of cardio and 30 min of strength) and I started out weighing 135-136 i am 5'8 and I weighed myself today before I ate anything and I have put on a pound so I am now 137.4. (I thought 3 pounds but it was just bloating) I have been pretty good about eating whenever I feel hungry and have had a bedtime snack pretty much every night. Our new release pattern has been pretty steady with every 2-4 days except we did go once where it was 5 days in between. We normally only have sex 3-4 times a month. So since the 26th of April it has been 7 times. DH has been taking his supps almost daily and he has been on Multi, Zinc, Folic Acid, and Magnesium. So what I am asking is do you think if we TTC in the next two weeks would we be jumping the gun? Or do you think we might have a solid chance with a boy? If I really need to wait until July I will. But I am getting nervous now with all of this stuff going on. I have an appointment with my doctor on Monday to talk about whether or not I want to do the surgery or get pregnant so I would like to hear some of your opinions on if you think I have a pretty solid shot at this or not? Especially since this is most likely our last baby and I am desperate for a son. Thanks so much! I hope this wasn't information overload but I wanted to give you all the facts!

I think you have a good shot at a boy, we suggest being on the diet at least 6 weeks. I would start up your strength training again as soon as you can and I would also use preseed with every attempt. Best of luck

Thanks dloui128 and cinss! I am so nervous that not enough time has passed but it seems like the Lord might be dealing us some different cards! I am hoping the she will say that it's alright if I wait a little bit longer. I am supposed to ovulate twice in June once on the 2nd and once on the 30th so I am hoping she will say we can wait until the 30th. One thing is for sure though I for sure don't want this procedure until after I have our next baby. Do you ladies have any suggestions as to some supps that I should add in the meantime to help my chances? Or any to add for DH? Thanks so much for your responses! I am hoping to have a set plan by the time I go to the doctor on Monday morning.

Also what kind of strength training do you suggest I do? I don't have very heavy weights. Just 10 lbs and then resistance bands.

I was doing Jillian Michaels dvd called Shred 4 x per week and lifting heavy weights 1 x per week. I would just do as much as i could for about 20 mins.

10lbs is perfectly fine, you can do push-ups, squats, lunges, squatting with your kid on your back, side raises with the resistance bands

You always ahve a chance at blue. I agree I would want to go ahead and TTC and let the chips fall where they may instead of waiting 6 more months.

Update! My gyn told me she suggests I get pregnant before a LEEP. So DH and I are going to still try for July or late June! Going to start working out again on Monday. Diet is going pretty good but I feel like I might be over doing it because I now have officially put on 3 lbs since may 1st. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing ...
