Hey pearl...I just read your sway...a quick question , u mentioned there that you took Vitamin D3 so did you take additional Vitamin D as it is already in pregnacare conception as well?
Thanks

I didn't take any additional d3 supplements but I was using super milk which is fortified with 100% of your d3 requirements per 200ml and I was having about 500mls of that per day as well as my prenatal. I also had blood tests done before I started TTC as a general health check and I was not deficient in anything so I felt I was covered.

Yes they're great. you will need more folic acid tho (should be taking 2000 mcg total for blue.)

I think adding in fish oil will only improe your chances. I am not a big fan of the Fertile CM, we've seen mixed results with those. Flaxseed is ok but take from AF-O only and do not give flax to dh.

I notice questions about Pregnacare a few times. So rather than posting a new thread I thought I would ask in the most recently related one.

Pregnacare Conception Formula can be taken on its own, so it necessary for DH to take the Wellman Conception Formula as well?

Some of the ingredients in both I am unfamiliar with and others concern me a little when TTC Blue.

So maybe someone can help here:

Magnesium 60 mg 16
Copper 1000 µg 100

I thought these were bad when trying to sway Blue?

Those I am unfamiliar with (for DW):

Inositol 50 mg --
Betacarotene (Natural Source) 3 mg --
N-Acetyl Cysteine 50 mg --
Biotin 150 µg 300
Pantothenic Acid 6 mg 100
Selenium 50 µg 91
Iodine 140 µg 93

and those I am unfamiliar with (in the DH formula):

Lycopene Extract 1.5 mg --
Maca Extract 250 mg --
Pine Bark Extract 30 mg --
Octacosanol 3 mg --
Inositol 40 mg --
L-Glutathione 2.5 mg --
Siberian Ginseng Extract 30 mg -- = Was it not mentioned elsewhere to avoid Ginseng?
Co-enzyme Q10 2 mg --
L-Carnitine Tartrate 50 mg -- - There are different versions of L-Carnitine it seems?
Citrus Bioflavonoids 10 mg -- = Citrus/Lemon - again I thought we should avoid?
Thiamin (Vitamin B1) 12 mg 1091

Anyone who can shed any light on these things?

Wow I'm so sorry I missed this!!

magnesium and copper (in sane amounts) are fine for TTC a boy

Inositol = B vitamin that may help egg quality. Large amount may sway pink, tht level ok

The rest of the DW supps are ok but I think it's best to stick to around 100% DRV

DH - I am not as much of a fan of Wellman for DH because it has some stuff in it that I am wary of.

Not sure Maca is safe
I don't like ginseng for hubbies when swaying blue. I know some swear by it but it messes up cell division, bad for sperm

most of the rest of those are just food nutrients and ok in small amounts for boy sway. The citrus bioflavonoids are very small amount and fine to take.

I am not a big fan of megadose vitamins other than Vit. D and we have had very mixed results with l-arginine (has delayed and even stopped ovulation for some people, as have the high doses of B vitamins also in there.). But, lots of gals have taken Pregnacare and handled it just fine...your call to make. I don't thnk they will sway pink, this is a question of safety and keeping you ovulating regularly.

Hi Ladies I know this is an old thread.. I'm just curious about the pregnacare conception.. I've purchased for me today.. hoping to ttc (sway blue) in the coming months.. I've come off b.c this month (currently on cd7) so just tracking ovulation etc for the next few months.. how long would you recommend taking these before ttc??
What other types of folic acid do u recommend alongside these?

I don't want anyone taking the Pregnancare any more. The B6 dose is SOOO high and has really messed up people's cycles.

I like a nice boring multivitamin or prenatal that has about 100% DRV for all vitamins and minerals present in it (like Women's One a Day or Centrum). Then additionally I want you to take enough Vit. D to add up to about 1000 IU and enough folic acid or folate to add up to 2000-ish mcg (that's micrograms, not milligrams!) Any brand name is fine.

The arginine too has really dried up people's CM and messed up cycles. Me no likey. :)

Hello Atomic, I am new to the forum.
Thank you so much for all your very interesting advises.
Regarding Pregnacare, if the problem is that it tends to delay the cycle, can we still use it if we use an ovulation test to chase the O date?
Because it's one of the only multivitamins that doen't contain calcium ...?

atomic sagebrush

NO. The reason is that the delayed O may be swaying a particular way and may inadvertently sway pink somehow. Plus, it has megadoses of other stuff too and more is NOT BETTER when swaying blue, because poisoning yourself by taking more nutrients than your body needs is highly unlikely to help anybody's blue sway.

It is fine to leave out calcium if you must, but I would honestly rather see you guys taking nutrients separately than to take some wacky-high dose of nutrients just to avoid calcium.

Most of us on here got opposites with the mineral diets. I got my last 2 boys taking Women's One a Day Orange (the same I recommend to my blue swayers). I have a full 3 essay series on calcium and swaying and how the mineral diets make no sense here http://genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-to-conceive-a-girl/610-calcium-conundrum-controversial.html

Hi,
I read that l-arginine is not ok to take because it dried CM for some people.
But is it ok for DH to take l-arginine?

I bought l-arginine, l-carnitine, zinc, Coq10, vitamin D, folic acid and Fish oil for DH
and zinc, Coq10, Fish oil, Folic acid, and Vitamin D for me to use.

Thinking of getting other nutrients from HE diet rather than from multivitamin.

Please let me know if this is ok.

We are planning to ttc end of April.

Thank you

Yes ok for hubby to take arginine and carnitine.

I still want you to take a multivitamin because they did seem to sway blue.

I normally suggest 1000 IU not 2000. I prefer you guys take more than 1000 only under advice of a doctor.

Yes that multi is ok, lthough you'll want to also take some Vitamin D3 in addition to the D2 in that vitamin.

Unfortunately the New Chapter is still too high a dose. Look for something that's about 500 mg and if you can only find 1000 then take that every other day.
