Hello! I'm new here.

DH was called in last night to work so he came home and We got to bed around 1 Am! blew my Temping cause woke up at 2:23! and my temp wont count now?
its the 2nd day in row this happened (yesterday woke up 3:37 am). its Day 8 now and period at tail end! Do I still temp does it matter now? DH fell asleep Snoring cozily on the ikea mattress in LO's nursery. That's there in case anyone is up with LO or just needs a nap. And I'm trying to lay on the hard as a Rock mattress DH picked out when we got married cause he was told it would soften up over time! Ha! I don't blame him cause He Had to Work late. Poor guy! Ohhhhh man though I'm miserable! So! Now I'm sitting on the couch Restless! My throat sucks cause if drainage most likely due to weather change (I never have luck when the weather shifts dramatically. It was chilly one week now Heateave!

Do we have to sleep on our backs to temp? I'm a side sleeper normally.

Oh and my weight is now approx 130 lbs. and 5' 4" - 5' 6" about. I need to loose how much to successfully sway Pink? Ive never weighted this much before im pretty sure outside of being preg.
Thinking of conceiving when LO turns around 2 yrs (he turned 14 months this past Saturday)

Thanks!

I can only help with the bbt part of your question, but I am far from an expert at bbt. How long are your cycles? If you are still having your period I wouldnt worry too much about messing up your temping. Depending on which site you are visting, some sites will tell you not to even temp during your period becuase your temps can be all over the place. I wouldnt stress too much because I am sure that at least once a week for me my temping gets messed up by either not getting enough sleep, being restless, or being woken up by my 3 yr old or 18 mon old. If you are going to wait 6 more mon to ttc, I think you will have an appropriate amount of time to figure out how your cycle works. Temping can be afftected by so many things like room temp, use of fans, the amount of sleep you get, whether you mouth breathe or not, and stress just to name a few. Like I said I wouldnt stress about it as you should have plenty of time to figure out how your cycles work. GL!

Hi Alice and welcome :)
Your posts about your mattresses made me smile!
I don't think temping during AF is crucial or sleeping positions either, but some of the experts will advise you more

Thanks ladies! I'm trying to figure out when I O.
Do I temp after AF to AF? Trying to figure this all out.
Good to know I'm not the only one who messed temping up.

Also, should I go to the store and pickup a Clear Blue OPK the newer flashing smiley or regular smiley ? I start POAS them when period is over right?

Yeah, Matress Needs a New Topper AsAP not conceiving on that Rock again lol
I forced to lay on tree pillows! On head, one under my back/but and third ant my feet. Yeah it's like the Flintstone's bed! Heels hurt on it!

Hopefully, someone can answer my weight question too.

Sorry on my Cell.

I usually start to temp after af has been over for at least 1 or 2 days and then I stop temping when I get af or start seeing a major drop in bbt which indicates af is on the way.

Does this tell you you've O'd?

Should I pickup a clear blue OPK if so which the New flashing smiley or just regular smiley?
Lol I can't make heads or tails from the lines

I use this after AF is over till I get O right?

A significant temp rise will indicate you have ovulated, as the progesterone released by o increases body temp. Do you use fertility friend? Its a free website that that charts your temps and makes it much easier :)
Personally I prefer the smiley face opk as there is no doubt with them, although they can be more expensive

Yeah I use FF. yeah I definatly want the Smiley but I noticed they Now have a NEW one with a Flashing smiley too! I thought I read somewhere they can be inaccurate or not allow you to test as much?

I use the cheapies and the smiley face ones. I usually don't O until later in my fertile week so I use cheapies when I am starting my fertile week or a few days before and then when I am closer to O I start using the smiley ones. This gives me a hopefully clearer indication of a +opk and I am not using the expensive smiley ones my whole cycle because sometimes I do check 2x a day which can get expensive, especially if you are 6 mon out from starting ttc.

Thanks Again Ladies!
Guess maybe I should just temp this cycle and purchase some cheapie a for next.

I'm really curious as to when I ovulate or if I'm ovating.
you get a period when you've ovulated right?

Go ahead and take your temp, but you just make a note that it may not be totally accurate. Most of the time it will not make any difference (and certainly not at the part of yoru cycle you are in right now).

It doesn't matter what positiion you lay in for temping.

If your baby is only 14 months old and you will not be TTC for some time, please don't worry about your weight, wait till you're closer to your sway.

I would use the IC's especially since you are not TTC for awhile. The Clearblues are WAY too expensive to use just for practice.

You will learn how the lines work over time, it's pretty easy. You'll spend a small fortune on Clearblues if you are trying to use them as practice.

Thanks for answering Atomic!

Ic's are what exactly? Where can I find them? Sorry not up on the lingo. Oh wait that stands for Inexpensive cheapies right?

How soon before TTC should I look at my weight?
I was considering doing it sooner cause of girls are made in warmer months thing? Although, I conceived my son in late June so? That and I'm not exactally thrilled about missing out on holiday food ha! Lol ill do it it's just not fun lol (I usually go crazy baking at that time)

I'm gonna get out my laptop and see if I can read up and make a plan. Man, this is soo interesting yet confusing to me.

Trying to figure out what would be our best.

Yes, pretty much - internet cheapies, you can buy cheap packs of cheap OPK online and then use them really freely without having to break in a cold sweat every time you POAS because you're spending $12 LOL

I think anywhere between 6-12 weeks before you are ready to TTC, is time to start thinking about weight loss/diet. I think I may have misunderstood what you were saying - I thought I'd read you said your son was 14 months and you were going to TTC when he was 2, but maybe you were trying to have a baby before he turned 2 meaning you'd be TTC soon???

Pretty close, actually I'm not entirely sure when's the best time.
I'm not sure what all comes into play. Kind of just got period back.

Is it better to like enjoy food now, while get my teeth taking care of and wait giving my appendectomy time and his Cdiff time? Change our diets more gradual?

Some say you have better chance conceiving girl like Mar-May. Is that true?

Or Is it best to start our new diets while im getting my teeth taken care of and adjust everything to maybe ttc (6-12 weeks) September anniversary ?

I'm trying to decide whats best. Any thoughts?

My crystal ball is in the shop this week so I can't tell you what will be best. Since some pretty major issues are in play, my inclination would be to wait (at the least till you're 100% sure your appendectomy is better).

You might want to consider going fully vegetarian now, while keeping protein, fat, and cal intake normal.

The info about the months and TTC is in this essay: http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/1693-seasons-swaying.html

Wow! There's soo much to it. I think I need to calm down breathe. My tummy hurts (feel like i could throw up) but that could be this drainage (ugh, this weather always messes with me)

Maybe I need to simplify this a bit or something. Taking in all at once is overwhelming and that's not gonna help. I know I can handle it if I have a good plan. It's just Soooo much info.

I have a call into Surgeon and should hear back like tomorrow. I'm calling dentist later this week and possibly my primary care Dr.

I'm talking to a local mom who has had multiple children and is looking into a Doula and Birth Center. Shes very nice abs keeping posted. Doula sounds
intriging. Since I got the bajeezers scared outta me last time I gave birth. I mean not listening to me or looking at the U/S I had that they lost and putting me 2 weeks ahead if what I actually was! And wanting to use that Dangerous stuff! Yikes!

I'm so trying to find a healthy outlet and not let this Sway (pardon the term) me from having another child.

I need to get some relaxation going on. Not sure what.

Oh n saw your comment on what my mom ate. So I'm thinking this is the way to go for me! Even if its just a little wishful thinking its the right direction I believe.

Tuna casserole ok on LE? I asked DH we are getting Membership for year. And we will deffinatly be looking into more.

Just lied there with pillow under hips propped up when got DS. So thinking may have to change that too. DH asjed how donyou di shallow Lol
And didn't ask mom what she did that maybe TMI for her. Funny thing is doesn't bother me one bit I look at it like Science! But then I think my Additude changed Major after Giving birth! I swear after Everything was out there I lost all care for Modesty!
Lol

Thanks Again!!

Think of it this way - you still have like 8 months before your son even turns 2, and that is A LOT of time. You don't need to understand this stuff today, tomorrow, or even a week from now, over the course of time it is going to fall into place.

Tuna casserole can be ok as a part of LE Diet but you will need to eat it in moderation.

Don't worry about propping hips or shallow release for now. There is a lot to learn about and read about and those are kind of last minute decisions - no need to stress about that for now.

Yeah, I tend to obsess I think and get tunnel vision. And think I need to get this right or I could fail. I'm kind of a weird cross mix like I'm doomed.

Like, I'm asking too much. Don't get my hopes up but ooohh soo want? I can't win?

Maybe I need to Stop , focus on enjoying the summer, acimplish somevthings in iur home (like the playroom) and revisit in fall hopefully, then Ill still have time?

Then I start to worry that that'll raise my T? Oh brother

Why don't you try doing nothing right now except going vegetarian, get some things done around the house (please don't overthink the testosterone stuff, you have to live your life and both boy and girl moms redo the playroom, I promise ya.)

You don't even KNOW that you're set for boys at this point - some of us conceive 4-5-6 or more boys over a 20 year period. You may very well get a girl doing nothing any different than you already are doing.

I worry too much honestly and I know this.
I'm working on it.

I've never been vegetarian before not even sure where to start. I take it this is good for girl sway (thought they were so healthy sway boy?)
I had like 1 week in 6th grade where I tried and my dad gave me a piece of sweet balonga. I piped it in my mouth not even thinking then that was that. Lol plus I stopped cause I started getting picked on at school.

Anyway, can you point me in a direction. Seriusly, never so much as met a vegetarian before.

I do have just one more question
I'm on CD19 and check OPk at around 2:30 pm everyday. Still no +OPK
How long should it take? I mean about how long?
I'm calling to make my PAP appt and wondering if I should say something.

No, vegetarians have been shown in studies to have more girls. It's not about "healthy" like good for your heart and preventing cancer and stuff, it's about fertility, and your body "likes" fat and protein for staying super duper fertile.

In my signature below, there is a link to "the complete index" (for some reason I can't make it clickable, you will have to cut and paste it into your browser bar) and under "diet" there is the LE Diet Nutshell Version and LE Diet FAQ that will help a lot. I also have the diet books for sale too if that is something you would find helpful.

It takes as long as it takes for O to happen!! Sorry, I wish I could give a better answer but it's up to your body.

Oh ok, I'll look into them. And is one of the diet books vegetarian? Like I said no clue about this hope I wouldn't be on it too long lol I like ice cream and meat lol

I see so I shouldn't really worry that it hasn't happened yet. It doesn't mean I can't ovulate it just means I may take longer?

Yes, the pink sway book is vegetarian.

You can have ice cream while swayign pink.

Yes, you can still ovulate, sometimes it just takes its sweet time. :)
