First of all, I am definitely not condoning illegal things like steroids or drugs! I am just curious about the effects on TTC. I am pregnant with my second boy but we want to have our third child close in age and I am starting to think about a girl sway in a year or so. DH has never done steroids but has been wanting to do a cycle for some time now. He was planning on doing it sometime after our son is born, and as I was googling it I came across some interesting information. The issue I was looking is up is whether or not it is possible to conceive while husband is taking steroids, and is it safe. I read that yes it is possible although sperm count can be lower, and yes it is completely safe as steroids do not affect DNA or chromosomes or anything else that can cause defects or problems. This was good news for sure. As an added bonus, I read that 8 out of 10 babies conceived during a steroid cycle are girls! Not sure how accurate that is, but the forum I was reading on had many user comments that they in fact conceived only girls while doing steroids. I am assuming it is because of the low testosterone/ sperm count? After reading that I was thinking about planning my sway around his cycle. I was planning on doing the LE diet along with supplements and Rephresh or something else to lower PH. I would have a short window of time during cycle to get pregnant (8 weeks maybe) so I would need to plan on getting pregnant quickly. Does anyone have experience with TTC during steriod cycle or swaying pink while husband is on steroids? Thanks!

I would love a link to this if you can post one. This is something that I have believed for a really long time but it was based on my own observations and those of some people who I trust, but if there is an actual study to back it up I would love to have access to it.

I do think steroids when taken by DH can sway pink because of cruddy sperm quality. I am not so sure it's perfectly safe, I don't think anyone can really say things like that because we really have very little info to go off of.

If your husband is already doing steroids and you ahve a limited window for TTC, I would ditch the RepHresh.

There is at least one girl on here who got a boy while her hubby was taking the steroids and hopefuly she will see this and chime in.

This is one of those things that may work differently between DH and DW. may sway blue for DW, pink for DH

My DH is big into working out and takes all kinds of gym supplements. He would never take LR or anything to lower testosterone. But, he has taken one round of steroids (which I was against) and has only been talking about it since. We want to TTC in December and he is really wanting to take another cycle. Not sure what to do either!!

There are 2 types of steroids. Ones for athletes to build up muscle and another for medical reasons ( decrease inflammation/supression of immune system). I don't believe they are the same or contain like ingrediants.

Thanks for the responses everyone! Atomic here is the link to the forum I was reading on Getting Girl PG while on Juice..... (http://www.steroidology.com/forum/general-chat-forum/623372-getting-girl-pg-while-juice.html) . Several people there mention studies showing certain types of steroids producing more girls than others but from what I read there are no links to these studies in the forum. There are lots of testimonials from people who had girls though! I am still up in the air about whether or not I want to TTC when he does a cycle.

I had trouble ovulating after weaning my first son from breastfeeding and am worried that I will have issues again. My doctor already discussed putting me on Clomid which I know sways pink as well but I think it would be a little stressful planning my sway around both Clomid and the steroids since they can only be taken for short periods of time. I do think that if I was able to get pregnant while combining them both plus the LE diet, I would have a pretty good shot at a girl though!

I found this study

In conclusion, we demonstrated a recovery of the spermatogenetic process in this male who had used AASs, and ultrastructural semen analysis clearly demonstrated a sperm quality almost ensuring natural fertility, which was achieved after therapy with gonadotropins. On the other hand, our study also shows, for the first time, anomalies in the meiotic process in this type of case. Therefore, the observed genetic damage involving sperm chromosome segregation could be a sign of alarm for subjects that habitually use steroids.
Structural sperm and aneuploidies studies in a case of spermatogenesis recovery after the use of androgenic anabolic steroids (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3455052/)

Any thoughts on that study and being able to break it down?

This is in line with what others have observed. One of the many things I would like to have the $$$$ and graduate students to study. :)

He went off the juice, they treated him with medication, and his sperm got better. :)

Instant, your husband needs his medication. Do what you CAN DO to sway and then go for it. There is no hard data that shows that TRT sways pink or blue and if he needs it to feel good and healthy, please let him take it because for all we know, it may HELP!

Thanks atomic... Were still several months away from TTC... But I know we both want a boy = ] ... Until then i'll be researching as much as possible and i'll let you know how it goes and what the outcome will be....

DH will do whatever it takes to sway blue, even stopping TRT if need be but after what you said I won't let him = ] .. My DH made a comment to me saying " now I'm on TRT we'll only be getting beautiful girls"

Instant, I think the HCG (which I did not know he was doing before) is going to mitigate any negative effects of the TRT.

DO NOT let him stop the TRT. For all we know, the reason why you got girl(s) before, if you did, was because of his low testosterone and we are doing everything right to get you your boy!!!

Plus, I will be sending you tons of atomic blue dust (that's the extra special stuff) :)

We have 1 girl so far... My DH was actually taking clomid for testosterone.... But a few months after we concieved his testosterone was very low around 300 ng/dl

his doctor is a top HRT doctor... and he always prescribes HCG with testosterone and sometimes HMG; he asked his doctor if TRT sways, he said not that he knows of; Although DH swears he thinks it sways pink a lot

The interesting thing is if testosterone decreases sperm or degrades it or you take something that increases sperm count / quality; you think it would always be 50/50 of which one make it..

It is always 50 50, it is that for reasons we don't know, those 50-50 X and Y sperm go on to make different % of boys and girls conceived. there are various theories about why this is but it's all speculation.

It seems since most bodybuilder use nolvadex / clomid when conceiving, i wonder if its these drugs that truly sway pink.. because most users on juice probably can't conceive anyways.

I don't know about the nolvadex but think Clomid sways BLUE for men taking it. They take it daily meaning it lowers estrogen and raises testosterone.
